Many people think that freckles add charm to their owners. However, freckles owners are often of a completely different opinion. They consider freckles to be a huge drawback to their beauty, dreaming of an impeccably smooth skin with no imperfections. How to remove freckles? Check out our article.

In fact, freckles are spot clusters of skin pigment, namely melanin, which is responsible for skin pigmentation.

The main cause of the formation of tiny, brown spots are genetic conditions that contribute to a faster synthesis of melanin by the melanocytes. Which are the pigment cells responsible for the production and storage of melanin. The pigment is located in the deeper layers of the skin, so it is practically impossible to freckles remove  completely. Even though they are usually small in size and their color is light. Freckles most often appear in people with a light complexion. Freckles are also caused by exposure to the sun, which is greatest in summer. The long-lasting effect of sunlight on the skin disrupts the process of production and distribution of melanin in the skin, which results in the appearance of freckles. They most often occur on the face, hands and shoulders, which are most exposed to sunlight.

Sometimes, during intensive sunbathing, they also occur on the legs. They are larger in size, compared to inherited freckles, and their color is quite dark. Also in people whose freckles are the result of inheritance, they darken under the influence of high sun exposure. In order to prevent the darkening of freckles, it is important that these people use creams with high filters containing at least SPF 50. Those who tend to develop freckles are also advised not to be strongly exposed to the sun.

Although it is not possible to remove freckles 100 %, there are several ways to effectively lighten unwanted freckles.

Dye-VL treatment

Freckle removal

The Dye-VL laser therapy is based on an intensive light source focused on discoloration, which is absorbed by dye cells. After the treatment, the discolorations temporarily darken, but they peel off within a few days. The more effective the treatment is, the darker the discoloration is. This treatment allows not only to effectively lighten freckles. But also to remove erythema and rosacea, as well as to even out small wrinkles. In order to achieve the desired results in brightening the discolouration. It is recommended to perform 4-6 treatments every 3 weeks. One month before, during and one month after the therapy it is necessary to use creams with SPF 50 filter.

Acid peelings

An effective way to reduce discoloration is also the use of acid peels. They have an exfoliating effect on the epidermis, as a result of which they inhibit the process of discoloration formation and lighten already existing discolorations. During the treatment, the cosmetologist provides the right preparations for the needs of the skin. Among peelings that have a strong action to brighten discolorations we distinguish TRX peeling with tranexamic acid, peeling with Vitamin C, peeling with retinol, and peeling with arbutin.

TRX peeling with tranexamic acid

TRX peeling with tranexamic acid has both brightening effects on discoloration and soothing inflammation, so it is also used in people with sensitive skin.

Scrub with Vitamin C

The brightening effect is also distinguished by peeling with Vitamin C. Through the appropriate concentration of vitamin C, it visibly improves the skin tone and has a moisturizing effect, which stimulates the synthesis of collagen, so it shows anti-wrinkle properties. In addition, this treatment has a brightening effect on the skin.

Peeling with retinol

Peeling with retinol has a brightening and anti-wrinkle effect. Retinol brightens both freckles and pigmentation spots caused by age. In addition, it stimulates the production of collagen. Which slows down the aging process of the skin and reduces already formed wrinkles.

Peeling with arbutin

Peeling with arbutin has a strong depigmentation and antibacterial effect. Moreover, it is effective in skin inflammation, so it can be used in people with problematic skin.

The i- Pixel fractional laser

An effective way to lighten the freckles is an innovative method of treatment using i-Pixel fractional laser. This treatment has an effect on the skin’s color balance, by exfoliating the keratinized epidermis. This treatment is also effective in removing scars, stretch marks and wrinkles. By deep penetration into the dermis layer it effectively repairs any imperfections. This treatment should be performed every 3-4 weeks. Absolute photoprotection is necessary during laser therapy.

Both Dye- VL therapy as well as acid peelings and i- Pixel laser treatment are available in the offer of J’adore Institute salons in Warsaw and Cracow.
