The procedure of chemical peels is not just exfoliation of the epidermis. Depending on the concentration, chemical composition, type of substance, we can have a different intensity on the skin. The most commonly used peels are hydroxy acids. These include AHA (α-hydroxy acids), BHA (β-hydroxy acids) and PHA (polyhydroxy acids). Depending on the effect of acids on the skin, superficial acids can be distinguished – they act only on the surface of the epidermis, medium deep – which reach the dermis and deep – penetrating the skin’s reticulatum layer.

Regardless of the selected type of acids, the effect will always be tissue regeneration, consisting in the destruction, elimination and regeneration of the skin. Acid-treated treatments are always accompanied by acidic treatments.
