and put on disposable gloves. The therapy starts with the blood collection of the patient. The amount of blood collected depends on the size of the treatment area, but usually it is 10-30 ml. Platelet rich plasma is then obtained using a special laboratory centrifuge. A separate yellowish transparent part of the plasma is used for the procedure. The red blood cells are not used for the procedure so they are not collected. Thin and short needles are used for the treatment. This reduces the possibility of bruises and haematomas after the procedure. The plasma is injected subcutaneously at intervals of 2-3 cm.
The procedure is not very pleasant to feel, for patients with increased sensitivity it is recommended to use an anaesthetic before the plasma needle mesotherapy procedure. Injection time alone takes about 10 minutes and the whole procedure takes about 30 minutes. Procedure using plasma should be performed immediately after centrifugation of patient’s blood. Over time, platelets lose their activity.
