Every year, aesthetic medicine treatments are becoming more and more popular. Polish women are more and more willing to use treatments that only a few have recently decided to do. Almost immediate and amazing effects can be seen many times after the first treatment.

Below is a conversation with one of the best specialist that coworks on the market of Krakow clinics and beauty institutes (including the J’adore Institute in Krakow) – Mrs. Lidia Majewska, MD, PhD.
Recently, I had the opportunity to see photos of the effects of your work. I’m impressed. You care about the natural effect, while meeting the requirements and expectations of customers, which does not happen often. Each treatment begins with a detailed interview, what does it look like for you? What makes customers so willingly put themselves in your hands?

Dr. L.M. : I always recommend solutions to my patients that will achieve a natural effect. In medical practice, I focus only on the most modern, most thoroughly tested preparations, because it gives a sense of security and minimizes the risk of peri-operative complications, and also guarantees the effectiveness of therapy.

Is there a preparation that you especially recommend to people who have never used the range of aesthetic medicine treatments, and who would like to refresh and regenerate the complexion in general?

Dr. L.M .: We need to distinguish two things. In the event that we think about improving the quality of the skin and its firmness – I recommend mesotherapy with the use of multi-component preparations containing vitamins, amino acids, substances stimulating the skin. The use of platelet-rich plasma is also recommended. However, if we are thinking about physical changes of the face – then botulinum toxin, bulking substances, e.g. hyaluronic acid, or finally – lifting threads work best. Careful selection of appropriate preparations and the type of treatment for a given patient guarantees a good effect.

How is it possible that one small ampoule can do such miracles?

Dr. L.M .: Let’s not exaggerate – one ampoule sometimes is enough, but only sometimes. Anyway, it all depends on the patient’s expectations. It is important that all the treatments we perform are planned so as to primarily satisfy the patient.

Wrinkle filling treatment is becoming more and more common. Botox is the most common filler, alternatively azzalure. Can we ask for a brief comparison and indicate the advantages and disadvantages of these two preparations?

Dr L.M .: These are the trade names of a substance called botulinum toxin, which is responsible for muscle relaxation. There are no studies directly comparing the effectiveness of these preparations in aesthetic medicine. Their use is based on the individual preferences of the doctor. For sure, the doctor will always use the preparation which is the best.

Let’s follow a few treatments from your offer: eg the treatment of “sweating of hands, feet and armpits”. Are these ailments permanently eliminated? Can they be permanently deleted?

Dr. L.M .: This is a great treatment for people who suffer from excessive sweating, usually in the armpits and hands. The treatment involves administering botulinum toxin to these places. The effect lasts on average about 8 months. Patients usually repeat the procedure once a year.

Effective aesthetic medicine treatment

You can imagine surgical liposuction. But how does Aqualyx or Dermastabilon work – alternatives to surgical liposuction?

Dr L.M .: Injection lipolysis is a procedure involving the injection into the adipose tissue of a substance that dissolves the cell membrane of fat cells. The procedure usually does not require local anesthesia; sensitive patients can be given an anesthetic cream. The best results are achieved in patients with adequate weight or light overweight with local fat accumulation. Especially in the case of such local adiposity as: chin, hips, breeches, outside of the knees, which are not reduced despite exercise and diet.

Do you notice any treatment tendency that clients are following recently (up to half a year or a year ago)? Is there a fashion phenomenon in aesthetic medicine?

Dr. L.M .: Yes, there are also some fashions in aesthetic medicine. Fortunately, I have recently been observing fashion for naturalness. I am very happy because it is consistent with my sense of aesthetics.
