Before the first treatment, a one-time specialist consultation should be performed, which ensures the safety of subsequent depilations. During such a meeting with a specialist, the client's type of hair is evaluated, a short interview is carried out concerning, first of all, the occurrence of possible contraindications, and a test is carried out, i.e. one shot laser (removal of one hair) that shows if the skin reaction is normal. When preparing for consultations before depilation, it is first necessary to ensure that the specialist has a chance to assess the type of hair - you just need to come unshaven, with visible, several millimeter hair. It should be considered whether we have recently used oral retinoid therapy, remember the herbs we drink and what cosmetics we use for this area of skin, which is to be depilated at the end. How to prepare for laser hair removal?
Correct preparation for laser hair removal
If the consultation is successful and we receive the so-called green light, then we can begin to prepare for the proper treatment. What exactly?
Six months before the procedure: complete oral retinoid therapy.
4 weeks before the procedure. Leave ointments with retinoids and fruit acids. Do not perform these types of hair removal, which involve pulling hair (tweezers, epilator, wax), refrain from using self-tanning products.
Two weeks before the procedure. Do not use creams with retinol (eg for acne). Allow light-sensitive herbs (eg St John's wort, calendula, blends of type 1.2 herbs). Give up on sunbathing in the tanning beds and in the sun. Cure active skin infections.
One week before the procedure. Stop to use anything what can give exfoliating effect. and if dry skin occurs - moisten it well, eg with the help of pharmacy emollients, end the treatment with antibiotics.
The day before the procedure. Give up the use of any balms, creams and ointments in the place to be treated.
What should you remember before removing excessive hair?
On the day before the first treatment, you must do an independent depilation of the area of the skin that will be exposed to the laser. For this purpose we use a normal disposable razor. We shave the skin thoroughly, leaving only a small hairy fragment that will allow the specialist to assess the type of hair.
