Where cellulite comes from
Gynoid lipodystrophy — the medical name for cellulite — results from several factors acting together: genetics, the influence of oestrogen hormones, weakened microcirculation and a sedentary lifestyle. The connective tissue septa between fat cells stiffen, lose elasticity and literally pull the skin down. This is what creates the "orange-peel" effect.
LPG Alliance — endermology
Mechanical roller massage with vacuum suction is one of the best-researched methods for treating cellulite. LPG breaks down stiffened connective tissue septa, stimulates the lymphatic system and improves microcirculation — targeting the cause, not just the effect.
Emtone BTL — RF and acoustic waves combined
Emtone BTL is one of the more advanced anti-cellulite protocols. It combines monopolar RF with acoustic waves, delivered simultaneously. RF heats the tissue deeply, stimulating collagen neogenesis and thermolipolysis. Acoustic waves break down connective tissue septa and improve drainage.
Storz Medical — acoustic wave (ESWT)
Extracorporeal acoustic waves work mechanically — they break down stiffened collagen septa and stimulate the formation of new collagen. The effect resembles LPG, but without mechanical contact between the applicator head and the skin.
Carboxytherapy for the legs
CO₂ injected under the skin dilates blood vessels, significantly improving microcirculation in the tissue. A side effect is local lipolysis and improved skin quality. Carboxytherapy works well as part of a broader anti-cellulite programme, or as a standalone series for grade I–II cellulite.
The most effective protocol — a combination of methods
Cellulite rarely responds to a single method. The best results come from combining several techniques that target the problem on different levels at the same time.
- Stage 1 (first few weeks): Emtone + Storz — breaking down septa, thermolipolysis, improved microcirculation
- Stage 2 (following weeks): LPG + Carboxytherapy — lymphatic drainage, contour definition, smoothing
- Maintenance: LPG or Emtone at regular intervals — to maintain the results achieved
What to avoid
- Anti-cellulite creams without a series of treatments — they can support your home care, but they cannot replace in-salon work
- A single treatment — cellulite needs a series; one session will not bring a lasting result
- Liposuction for cellulite — removes fat tissue, but can make surface irregularities more visible
- Crash diets and fasting — rapid weight loss worsens skin elasticity and can make cellulite look more pronounced
