When every detail counts — a woman's perspective

A wedding, a christening, an industry gala, a portrait shoot — each of these moments deserves to have you looking exactly like the best version of yourself. Not "pretty good for the morning" or "almost what I wanted." Exactly that. Occasion makeup at J'adore isn't about enhancing your looks — it's about precisely translating your own image of yourself into colours, textures and light. And doing it in a way that survives emotion, dancing and camera flashes until the very last guest leaves.

What sets occasion makeup apart from everyday makeup

It's not about the amount of product — it's about strategy. A woman's skin changes with her hormonal cycle, hydration level and stress on the day of the appointment. Our specialists read your skin before every visit: they check hydration, reactivity, and sebum production in the T-zone. Based on that, they choose the base, coverage technique and setting products — a primer suited to oily skin and one suited to dry skin are two completely different tools. Photogenic makeup also differs from makeup that looks beautiful in person: we work differently under studio lighting than under natural afternoon light. Tell us where and when, and we'll know how to set it up.

The anatomy of a woman's features — why technique matters

Eye shape determines how we shade. Cheekbone structure determines the highlighting technique. Lip proportions determine the lip liner and lipstick colour we choose. There's no single "gala makeup" — there's makeup matched to your face, your skin tone, and the specific occasion. That's why we always discuss your dress, your jewellery, and the lighting of the venue before every appointment. This lets us create a coherent image — not a face in isolation, but a whole that makes sense.

Wedding makeup trial — why it's essential

On your wedding day, there's no room for experiments. The trial is a separate visit — ideally 2–4 weeks before the ceremony — during which we test everything: colour choice, coverage, how the makeup holds up over several hours, and how your skin reacts to the products. You can see yourself in the mirror, take photos, show your mother, and come back with adjustments. On the wedding day, you sit down in the chair with complete confidence. A makeup trial isn't a cost — it's an investment in peace of mind.

Frequently asked questions

Can I skip the trial if my wedding is in three weeks?
You can, but we don't recommend it. The trial is your only chance to test how long the makeup lasts, react to any irritation, and see how the look works both in person and in photos. Three weeks is a good window — close enough that your skin will be in a similar condition, and early enough to make changes if needed.
I use retinol and acids — do I need to stop before my appointment?
Ask us in advance — it depends on the strength of the products and how your skin reacts. In general, we recommend pausing active ingredients (retinoids, strong acids) 48–72 hours before your makeup appointment, so your skin looks radiant rather than irritated or red. You'll get specific guidance after your consultation.
Will the makeup look natural, or will I look "done up"?
That's entirely up to you and the occasion. We do everything from a "no-makeup makeup" look to a full evening look with a bold eyeliner and strong red lips. Bring reference photos that inspire you, and we'll tell you honestly what we can recreate and what needs to be adapted to the anatomy of your face.
I'm pregnant or breastfeeding — is the makeup safe?
The products used in occasion makeup are applied externally and in small amounts. Let us know about pregnancy or breastfeeding before your appointment — we'll choose products without any ingredients you'd prefer to avoid during this time. Your safety and comfort come first.
Can I book makeup with a home visit — for example, before the wedding at home?
Yes, we offer on-location makeup for special occasions: a wedding, a photo shoot, a gala or a corporate event. Arrange the location and date with us in advance — a home visit requires advance booking and comes with an additional fee depending on distance.
