A treatment room at J'adoreMAKEUP / STYLING / TANNING
Dreaming of golden skin but want to avoid the risks of sunbeds or hours in the sun? Spray tanning is a safe alternative: a cosmetologist evenly sprays a DHA-based preparation onto your body — an ingredient that gently tints the top layer of the epidermis.
The result is a natural, warm bronze without a single UV ray. Your skin is not exposed to the sun, and the tan looks like you have just returned from holiday — except it appears in one evening and fades evenly, without patches or streaks. At J'adore Instytut, the treatment is performed by a cosmetologist. Below, we have gathered everything worth knowing before your first visit.

The whole process in ninety seconds: who it's for, what the visit looks like, what to expect after the treatment and when we postpone it. Subtitled — it works without sound too.
How it works
The heart of the treatment is DHA (dihydroxyacetone) — a safe ingredient derived from sources such as sugar beet, which reacts gently with amino acids in the top layer of the epidermis. The result of this reaction is a natural brown skin tone that builds up gradually over several hours after the treatment. The final look depends on the concentration of the preparation, the shade matched to your complexion and how evenly the cosmetologist applies it with an airbrush.
Most importantly: DHA only tints the dead epidermis on the skin's surface; it does not reach deeper and has nothing to do with UV radiation. This is why spray tanning is considered a safe alternative to the sun and sunbeds — your skin is not tanned, only tinted.
The preparation is applied by a cosmetologist using a professional airbrush that sprays it in a fine mist. This ensures the colour is applied evenly over the entire body, without streaks, drips or patches typical of self-tanning at home.

Ideal for
Women's zone and men's zone
Spray tanning for women is the most common choice before a wedding, holiday or photo shoot. We aim for a delicate, natural skin tone that looks beautiful in photos and under light fabrics — which is why we carefully select the shade for your skin tone and suggest a trial session before a wedding.
The areas we support
Spray tanning for men is a growing niche — men reach for it before a photo shoot, event or competition (e.g. bodybuilding), where tanned skin better highlights muscle definition and looks healthy under spotlights. The goal: an even, masculine skin tone without a "painted" effect. You can find more about our offer for men in the men's zone.
The areas we support
Did you know: DHA, which provides the brown colour, was discovered by accident in the 1950s — it was being studied as a medicine for diabetics when it was noticed that it stained the skin brown. Today, it is a well-known and researched ingredient that professional spray tanning is based on.
Safety
Spray tanning is one of the gentlest treatments in our offer — but there are a few things worth discussing before you sit under the airbrush:

At J'adore, the spray is performed by a cosmetologist, who assesses the skin condition, selects the shade and applies the colour evenly, part by part — this is not the same as applying it yourself at home.
The skin must be healthy and undamaged. Fresh wounds, abrasions, active inflammation or irritation after hair removal postpone the treatment until it has healed.
DHA stains the epidermis, but it does not protect against UV — you should still apply sunscreen when in the sun.
Warning: peels or hair removal just before spraying · Do not perform an intensive acid peel or hair removal just before the treatment — freshly exfoliated or irritated skin absorbs colour unevenly and loses it faster. Plan your peel and shaving/hair removal the day before. We also postpone the treatment if there is active acne, open wounds, fresh abrasions or inflammation on the body — the skin must heal first.
The visit

Shade selection
the cosmetologist assesses your skin tone and you decide on the intensity together: from a delicate, lightly sun-kissed look to a saturated, holiday brown.

Skin preparation
your skin should be clean, dry, and free from lotion, perfume, and deodorant. You will achieve the best results with a peel performed the day before.
Spray
the product is applied with an airbrush in a fine mist, section by section, over your entire body or a chosen area (e.g., legs). You stand in light underwear or a disposable garment.

Short drying time
the colour "takes" on the skin; you receive instructions on what to wear afterwards (loose, dark clothing).

Colour development at home
the full colour appears after a few hours, once the product completes its reaction on the epidermis.
What to expect
Most importantly: the colour is only preliminary immediately after the spray. The full, target shade appears only after a few hours, once the DHA completes its reaction on the skin. Therefore, you will only see the first rinse and the full tan later — this is completely normal.

The result
An evenly laid colour shows best where the swimwear ends — no streaks, no patches, no orange cast.

Campaign imagery — it shows the character of the tan and is not a record of results on our clients.
The tan fades evenly and naturally — along with the exfoliation of the epidermis, without patches or streaks. To maintain it for longer, daily body hydration and avoiding harsh peels are key.
After the spray
The longevity and evenness of the colour depend 80% on what you do in the first few hours and days. The rule is simple: in the first few hours, do not let anything wash away or smudge the fresh colour, and then focus on hydration.
This is the most important rule: do not get your skin wet for the first few hours — water will wash away the fresh, undeveloped colour. Take your first shower only after the recommended time; keep it short, lukewarm, and do not scrub.
Sweat dissolves the fresh product and causes streaks. Skip the gym, running, and anything that makes you warm for the first few hours after the spray.
Chlorine, hot water, and soaking shorten the life of the tan and can cause it to fade unevenly. It is best to postpone these for a few days.
This is your ally: daily lotion keeps the colour even and extends it by a few days. Dry skin exfoliates faster and loses its tan unevenly.
An abrasive peel is the enemy of the spray — it accelerates exfoliation and the end of the tan. Use it only when you consciously want to remove the colour.
In the first few hours, wear loose, dark clothing — tight and light garments may temporarily get marked by the bronzer (it washes out). Afterwards, you live normally.
MAKEUP / STYLING / TANNING
A spray tan is gentle, but in some situations, it is better to postpone it — you can simply return when your skin is ready.
This is not a full list — we will discuss your skin condition and any concerns individually during your visit before we begin.
Spray tan (Sun FX)
These three paths to tanned skin differ in safety and effect — here is a cheat sheet on what really sets them apart:
professional, even tan without UV
does not protect against the sun and does not replace sunscreen
the same ingredient, but "on your own"
easy to get streaks, patches, and uneven knees/elbows without practice
tan from UV radiation
this is UV exposure — with all its risks; the spray was created precisely as a safe alternative

Combine with
The most beautiful spray is one on well-prepared, cared-for skin — and fitted to a specific occasion. It works best in a duo with:
A simple rule: if you want colour here and now, without exposing your skin to radiation — choose a spray. Self-tanner works great for maintaining the effect at home between visits.
From the cosmetologist's salon
The most common mistake before a big day? A scrub or hair removal performed on the same day as the spray tan. Freshly exfoliated skin absorbs colour differently. The golden rule is: preparation the day before, spray tan 1–2 days before the event.
Variants and shades
Spray tanning is not "one colour for everyone". We select both the range (full body or a specific area) and the depth of the shade — tailored to your complexion and the occasion.
The most popular choice — an even tan across the entire silhouette. It is ideal before a wedding, holiday or photoshoot.
Dla kogoA complete look from feet to décolletage.
A quick, targeted spray tan for the legs only — a shapely, tanned effect for a dress.
Dla kogoWhen you want to refresh only your legs for a specific occasion.
From a subtle, sun-kissed glow to a rich, holiday bronze — we determine this during your visit.
Dla kogoMatched to your complexion and the intensity of the effect you want to achieve.
Several spray tans in a package — a convenient way to maintain your colour throughout the wedding or holiday season.
Dla kogoA consistent, tanned look without breaks.
Fact: We perform all variants in all three salons — in Warsaw (Żelazna, Mińska) and Krakow (Karmelicka), not just in one location.
