Shiatsu massage for men

A massage for those who prefer something more direct

Shiatsu massage for men suits those who prefer a firm, direct massage over gentle oil-based stroking. Point-based pressure, stretching and mobilisation deliver a clear sense of release exactly where tension tends to settle — the neck, shoulders and back extensors, worn down by desk work, driving and strength training.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Tension and stress — when tightness settles into the neck, shoulders and back, and your mind won't switch off.
  • Stiffness and "stagnation" — a heavy, tense feeling in the body from a sedentary lifestyle.
  • Fatigue and burnout — when you need a "reset" and a return to balance, not just gentle stroking.
  • Preferring not to undress or use oil — shiatsu is done fully clothed, with no oily skin afterwards.
  • Curiosity about exotic techniques — for those who want something beyond a classic massage.
  • A gift — a shiatsu voucher for someone close, or a shared massage for two.

The areas we work on

  1. neck, shoulders and back — stiffness from desk work, driving and the gym;
  2. firm, deep pressure along lines of tension (stronger on request);
  3. stretching and mobilisation — a "reset" for a stiff, tense body;
  4. zero undressing and zero oil — you go straight back to what's next, with no greasy skin.

A massage for those who prefer something more direct

Shiatsu suits men who expect firm, deliberate pressure rather than a sensory setting from a massage. Point-based acupressure along lines of tension, stretching, joint mobilisation — and zero oil, zero undressing. You leave straight away, with no need to wait for balm to absorb and no greasy clothes.
In practice: the neck, shoulders and back extensors, worn down by hours at a desk, behind the wheel and at the gym, get a deep, rhythmic reset. The therapist works with thumbs, palms and forearms — at a calm pace, but with firm force. More on request.

What shiatsu does for a man's body

  • Neck and shoulders — classic sites of tension build-up from desk work, upper-body training and driving. Point-based pressure on the meridians reaches deeper than classic kneading.
  • Stretching and joint mobilisation — shiatsu often combines pressure with gentle stretching; after a session, the range of motion in the shoulders and neck is noticeably greater.
  • Nervous system reset — rhythmic pressure at a calm pace lowers tension without medication and without needing to "switch off" for an hour of films.
  • No greasy skin or oil scent — you go straight back to what's next: a meeting, a workout, anything.

Shiatsu versus classic — which to choose

If you want work on one specific muscle — a clearly overloaded calf after a run, for example — a classic oil-based massage can be more precise for that one area. Shiatsu works systemically along the body's lines of tension, with stretching built in. Many men combine both in a series — shiatsu as a regular reset, classic after heavier training loads.
Thai massage is related to shiatsu (also oil-free, also fully clothed), but it places more emphasis on dynamic stretching — it tends to be more active and less "static". If you want the feeling of a strong stretching session, Thai is closer to that; if you're after deep, point-based pressure with stretching as an add-on, choose shiatsu.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to wear anything special?
Loose, soft clothing is enough — tracksuit bottoms and a cotton T-shirt without a hood, for example. Shiatsu is performed fully clothed and without oil, so you can come in whatever's comfortable. Avoid stiff jeans and belts — that's the only real restriction. Will this do anything to my spine? I have an old injury. Tell us about the injury at the start of your visit — this is essential. For recent, undiagnosed spine or joint problems, get the green light from a doctor first. For old, stable injuries, the therapist simply avoids sensitive areas or works more gently around them. We never work against common sense.
How many sessions before I feel a real difference?
After the first session, the neck and shoulders feel noticeably looser — the effect is immediate. If tension returns after a few days, that's a sign to build shiatsu into a regular rhythm (once every 2–3 weeks). After a few visits, your everyday starting point — how stiff the body feels day to day — shifts noticeably.
Can I come straight from the gym?
Better not to — intense training right before a massage revs the body up rather than calming it down, and muscles react differently to pressure straight after exertion. Ideally, come on a rest day or after a light walk, not a full training session. After the massage, it's best to skip heavy training until the next day — leave what we've just relaxed alone for the rest of the day.
