Men's skin is 15–25% thicker and has higher collagen density than women's — which means it responds more intensely to microneedling, produces more collagen in response to the stimulus, and tolerates deeper treatment. Needle Shaping makes full use of this biology: precise micro-channels open a pathway for an active blend of peptides, growth factors and hyaluronic acid that works exactly within the dermis.
The effect is structural, not cosmetic — new collagen builds from within over several months after the treatment. Acne scars become shallower. Pores — narrower. Skin on the cheeks and neck — denser and firmer. Changes aren't visible instantly; they build up, session by session.
The protocol is chosen individually: needling depth, cocktail composition and number of sessions depend on your specific concern. For scars — deeper, with growth factors. For lifting and pores — shallower, with signalling peptides. This isn't a treatment off a fixed menu.

Recovery — how much time you really need

After the treatment, redness and mild flaking last 2–3 days — the visible sign of intensive collagen remodelling happening within the skin. You can return to office work the next day; avoid face-to-face meetings for the first 2 days if you'd rather keep it discreet. For strength training, sauna and swimming — return after 3–4 days, once the redness has settled.
Postpone shaving for at least 3 days after the treatment: skin in the micro-repair phase is more sensitive to the mechanical friction of the blade, and sweat and heat can irritate the micro-channels. Once you resume shaving, use SPF 50+ for at least 4 weeks — skin after Needle Shaping is more susceptible to UV radiation, which can disrupt neocollagenesis.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to change how I shave after Needle Shaping — and when can I go back to my normal routine?
Postpone shaving for at least 3 days after the treatment — the mechanical friction of the blade can irritate skin in its intensive repair phase. After 3–4 days you can return to your routine. If you use a multi-blade razor or shave very close to the skin, prefer cooler water and a gentler aftershave balm for the following 1–2 weeks. In the longer term, regular Needle Shaping improves skin texture in the beard area — fewer ingrown hairs, less irritation after shaving.
When can I go back to the gym?
After 3–4 days. Intense exercise raises body temperature and causes sweating — sweat in contact with the micro-channels right after the treatment can cause irritation. Once redness settles (usually by day 3), you can return to training without restrictions. Use SPF 50+ for 4 weeks if you train outdoors.
Will anyone notice I've had the treatment?
For the first 2–3 days, redness is visible — you can partially cover it with a tinted product or attribute it to shaving irritation. The target effect — better texture, smoother scars, firmer skin — appears gradually over 2–3 months. People around you see the change, not the treatment moment.
How many sessions do I need for acne scars?
For shallow to medium-depth scars, a series of 4–6 sessions every 4–6 weeks gives the best result. First visible improvements appear after the 2nd session — each session builds on the last, and the effects accumulate. The protocol and final number of sessions are determined after your doctor assesses the depth and type of scarring at consultation.
Will Needle Shaping help with hyperpigmentation and uneven texture after shaving?
Yes — microneedling combined with a cocktail containing vitamin C or brightening ingredients reduces superficial sun-related and shaving-related hyperpigmentation. Regular treatments even out skin texture in the beard and cheek areas. The effect is gradual — noticeable improvement appears after 2–3 sessions.
