Spray tan (Sun FX) for men

A tan as a tool — not an ornament

Spray tanning for men is a growing niche — men turn to it before a photo shoot, a party or a competition (e.g. bodybuilding), where tanned skin better highlights the body's definition and looks healthy under spotlights. The goal: an even, masculine tone without a "painted-on" effect. You can find more about our offer for men in the men's zone.

When it's worth it — indications

 • Before a wedding — an even, healthy skin tone for a white dress, without the risk of sunburn just before the big day.
 • Before a holiday — a "base" tan for the flight or for those who do not want to expose their skin to the sun.
 • Before a photo shoot, party, ball or prom — the body looks slim and radiant in photos.
 • For very fair skin — which reddens easily and does not tolerate the sun well.
 • For everyone avoiding sunbeds — who wants a golden effect without UV rays and their consequences.
 • Targeted — legs only — when you want a shapely, tanned look for your legs under a dress.

The areas we work on

 1. colour before a photo shoot and physique photography;
 2. a natural tan for a party or a trip;
 3. highlighting muscle definition before a competition.

A tan as a tool — not an ornament

Men rarely say "I want to look tanned". They say: I want to look healthy before my wedding. I want my physique to show the work I have put into it in competition photos. I want to return from holiday with a colour that lasts longer than a week. Sun FX spray tanning meets exactly these needs — no UV, no sunbed, no risk.
The treatment has its own specifics for men. Skin is thicker, produces more sebum and has a different texture than women's skin — which affects the application method and the durability of the effect. We adjust the precise airbrush spray to your physique: defining the chest, shoulders and abdomen is an effect that an even self-tanning spray can never provide. The specialist selects the intensity for your skin tone — the effect looks like a week in the mountain sun, not like a drugstore self-tanner.

What spray tanning does for the male physique

A precise airbrush is more than just an even colour. For men with a developed physique, a properly selected tan intensity visually deepens muscle definition — the chest, deltoids and abdomen gain a clarity that cameras and eyes in the room can see. This is why spray tanning is the standard before fitness competitions, bodybuilding and photo shoots.
But it is not just about sport. Men reach for this treatment just as often before a wedding, a reunion or an important business trip — anywhere where a first impression matters, and pale, grey skin after winter does not reflect who you are on a daily basis.
Benefits specific to men:
 • Highlighting muscle definition — the airbrush works with your anatomy, not against it.
 • Evening out skin tone after winter — skin looks healthy and fresh, without any greyness.
 • Optically masking irregularities — hyperpigmentation, minor scars, uneven skin tone after summer.
 • 20–30 minutes — effect for 7–10 days — no physical effort or series of sunbed sessions will give you this in such time.
 • Zero photoageing — DHA reacts only with the dead layer of the epidermis, does not accelerate wrinkle formation and does not degrade collagen.

Training and physical activity versus a tan

This is a topic men ask about most often — and rightly so. The first 6–8 hours after the treatment are when DHA binds to the keratin of the epidermis. Sweat in this window breaks down the developing pigment and causes streaks. The rule is simple: return to training after your first shower.
After this time, physical activity does not negatively affect the colour — the tan is already set. Intensive sweat accelerates epidermal exfoliation, so the durability may be shortened to 5–7 days instead of 7–10. If you want the longest-lasting effect: moisturise your skin after every workout, use an alcohol-free lotion and avoid aggressive shower gels.

Frequently asked questions

Will anyone notice that this is a spray tan and not a natural tan?
With professional airbrush application and well-chosen intensity — no. People will see healthy, well-cared-for skin. The Sun FX system provides a warm, golden shade without the characteristic orange colour shift that gives away drugstore self-tanners. The specialist selects the intensity for your skin tone — the effect is meant to look like a week in the sun, not a treatment.
When can I go to the gym after the treatment?
After your first shower — which is usually 6–8 hours after the treatment. Before that, sweat destroys the developing pigment. After rinsing off, you return to your normal training plan without restrictions. It is worth having a moisturising lotion with you — the better moisturised your skin is after a workout, the longer the colour lasts.
Do I have to shave before or after the treatment?
Perform wet shaving at least 24 hours before tanning — freshly shaved skin is irritated and may absorb DHA unevenly. After the treatment, wait as long as you can before shaving — the razor and shaving gel remove a layer of the epidermis, accelerating the fading of the tan. If you have stubble or a beard — no problem, we can skip tanning the face or significantly soften the intensity.
Does spray tanning work for a larger physique or heavy body hair?
Yes — the airbrush adapts to the body structure, not the other way around. Heavy body hair may slightly reduce the intensity of the effect on certain areas — the specialist will take this into account when selecting the amount of product and the spray intensity so that the effect is consistent. We perform the treatment regularly on men of various builds and degrees of hairiness.
Can I combine spray tanning with other treatments at the salon on the same day?
Yes — spray tanning is always done at the end of your visit. Before that, you can have a haircut, facial care or a massage. Perform wax or laser hair removal at least 24 hours before tanning. We arrange the treatment so that you leave the salon ready — without the need to return.
