DNA Recovery (Smart DNA) for men

Why DNA Recovery makes particular sense for men's skin

Men's skin can be oily on the surface yet dehydrated underneath — thicker, irritated after shaving, and exposed to the sun without a protection habit. DNA Recovery for men improves condition and hydration, smooths skin after shaving and supports the healing of acne marks — discreetly, with no "salon look".

When it's worth it — indications

  • Dehydrated skin — feels tight after washing, "thirsty", and easily dries out despite hydrating creams.
  • Grey, tired skin — lacking radiance, sallow, "lifeless", especially in autumn and after the holiday season.
  • Skin after UV exposure — weakened by the sun, in need of rebuilding and protection.
  • Dry, rough skin — with a feeling of tightness and uneven texture.
  • Early signs of ageing — fine lines from dehydration, loss of elasticity and firmness.
  • Skin in need of regeneration — after the stress of autumn and winter, central heating, air conditioning, and general fatigue.
  • Preparation and "finishing touches" in your skincare routine — when you want to rebuild your skin's condition between stronger treatments.

The areas we work on

  1. skin that's oily yet dehydrated and rough;
  2. irritation and redness after shaving;
  3. acne scars and uneven skin texture;
  4. no SPF habit — this is where we start educating on protection after the peel.

Why DNA Recovery makes particular sense for men's skin

Men's skin is thicker and produces more sebum than women's skin — that sounds like an advantage, but it comes with a paradox: skin can be oily on the surface and dehydrated in the deeper layers at the same time. On top of that, daily shaving causes micro-injuries that build up over weeks, creating lasting irritation and uneven texture.
DNA Recovery instead of forcing intense exfoliation, it hydrates and regenerates — and that is exactly what a man's skin needs when it is oily yet simultaneously thirsty for water. The effect is discreet: the skin looks better nourished and cared for, not as though it has undergone an in-clinic treatment with the evidence written all over the face.

Specific concerns men come to us with

  • Irritation and redness after shaving — even with good foam and a sharp blade, daily shaving causes micro-trauma; a regenerating peel improves barrier condition and calms chronic redness;
  • Scars and marks from acne — DNA Recovery doesn't remove deep scars (other treatments address that), but it improves skin texture and evens out skin tone, which visually reduces the appearance of unevenness;
  • Grey, tired-looking skin — especially with a demanding lifestyle, lack of sleep, frequent travel, and long hours in front of a screen;
  • No SPF habit — after the peel, your cosmetologist gives you guidance on sun protection; this is often the moment a man starts using SPF regularly;
  • Skin after the summer season — too much sun without protection means a weakened barrier, hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.

What the treatment involves, from a man's perspective

No dramatic stages. Your cosmetologist applies the product, monitors your skin, then removes it — the whole session takes around half an hour to an hour, depending on the protocol and whether LED is added at the end. You may feel slight warmth or tingling. Right after the treatment, your face is refreshed and may be slightly flushed — this usually fades within a few hours. There's no obvious "salon look" and no visible peeling to give away that you've had a treatment.
One detail worth noting for men: for a few days, shave less intensively and let your skin recover. Gentle skincare plus SPF 50+ — your cosmetologist will cover this at the end of the visit.

Frequently asked questions

Will anyone notice I've had a treatment done?
Not in any obvious way. The DNA Recovery effect is skin that looks as though it has had a good rest — fresher, more hydrated, with an even tone. No peeling, no questioning looks from friends.
Do I need to stop shaving daily after the peel?
For 1–2 days, it's worth giving your skin a break, or shaving more gently (electric razor instead of wet shaving). After that, you can return to your normal routine. Your cosmetologist will tell you exactly how long to ease off — it depends on your skin and the treatment protocol.
I have oily skin — will a hydrating peel actually change anything?
Yes — because oily skin can be dehydrated at the same time (low water, not low sebum). DNA Recovery hydrates deeper without adding oil to the surface. The result is improved condition and texture, not a greasier complexion.
Does a series make sense, or is one session enough?
One session refreshes and hydrates. To improve skin condition and noticeably even out texture (acne marks, tone, skin quality), you'll need a series of 3–4 sessions every 1–2 weeks. Your cosmetologist will assess what makes sense for you after a skin analysis.
Do I really need to use SPF after this?
Yes, without exception. After any peel, skin is more sensitive to UV radiation — without SPF 50+, the risk of hyperpigmentation rises and the regenerating effect fades quickly. If you've never used sunscreen before, your cosmetologist can recommend a light SPF cream that doesn't feel sticky and suits daily use.
