Ferulac — ferulic acid for men

Men's skin and the sun — damage that builds up over time

For men, skin is thicker and often more prone to shine, with post-acne scarring and, typically, no habit of using SPF — and it's precisely that lack of sun protection that's the main cause of photoageing and hyperpigmentation in men. Ferulac is one of the most important preventive treatments for them: it fades sun spots and protects the skin without any "just-had-a-treatment" look. This is Ferulac for men.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Hyperpigmentation — sun spots and small lentigines; ferulic acid curbs excess melanin production and gradually brightens skin tone. This is the main indication for Ferulac.
  • Photoageing — skin showing visible signs of sun exposure: uneven tone, loss of freshness, faint spots.
  • Grey, dull skin with no radiance — the "worn-out" look that creams alone can no longer fix; the antioxidant refreshes and brightens.
  • Fine lines and early signs of ageing — the peel supports skin renewal and improves texture, with an anti-ageing effect.
  • Antioxidant prevention — protecting skin exposed to free radicals (sun, urban smog, stress, cigarettes) against progressive ageing.
  • Normal and combination skin — also useful as a seasonal treatment to maintain tone and radiance.
  • Instant radiance — before a wedding, a photoshoot, an important meeting; Ferulac gives a quick glow without prolonged flaking.

The areas we work on

  1. oily, thicker skin with enlarged pores;
  2. sun-induced hyperpigmentation in men active outdoors (sport, outdoor work);
  3. post-acne scarring and unevenness — evening out tone and texture;
  4. no drama around flaking — back to work and the gym straight away.

Men's skin and the sun — damage that builds up over time

Men's skin is thicker and produces more sebum — but that doesn't protect it from UV damage. Quite the opposite: not being in the habit of using SPF, spending time in the sun (sport, outdoor work, jogging), and often cigarettes or alcohol adding oxidative stress — this combination builds up damage faster than you'd expect. The result is uneven tone, greyness, sun-induced hyperpigmentation and the first clear signs of photoageing, which tend to appear earlier in men than in women who use SPF.
For men, Ferulac is one of the most sensible preventive treatments: ferulic acid neutralises free radicals (antioxidant action), curbs excess melanin production (fading spots) and requires no downtime. You can go back to work, the gym, the pitch — the same day or the next. No questions from colleagues.

When to consider Ferulac

Ferulac for men is a good choice when:
This peel is fuss-free: no visible skin peeling, no need to stay indoors for a week. The treatment takes several dozen minutes, and any slight redness usually fades the same day.
  • clear sun-induced hyperpigmentation appears on the face — faint spots, an uneven skin tone after years of UV exposure;
  • your skin looks tired and grey, with no radiance, even though you feel fine;
  • post-acne marks remain (uneven tone, minor post-inflammatory pigmentation) — Ferulac evens out both tone and texture;
  • skin after shaving is irritated and uneven — antioxidant action gently calms and evens it out;
  • you don't use SPF daily and know the damage is building up — Ferulac is one of the treatments that can help address that backlog.

SPF after the treatment — this time, it's not optional

Day to day, it's still possible to ignore UV protection, even if the results become more visible on the face year by year. But after a ferulic acid peel, SPF 50+ isn't optional — it's the condition for keeping the results and preventing pigmentation from deepening instead of fading. During your consultation, your cosmetologist will show you the simplest possible protection routine — one product each morning that's neither heavy nor noticeable.

Frequently asked questions

Will Ferulac be visible on my face — will I look like I've just had a treatment?
Usually not. Ferulac is a zero-downtime peel: any slight redness typically fades within a few hours, and flaking is minimal or non-existent. You leave the salon and get straight back to your day. That's why it's popular among men who'd rather not explain to anyone that they've had a treatment.
I have acne scars — will Ferulac help?
It will even out skin tone and gently improve texture — yes. But deep acne scars (indented, atrophic scars) are a separate matter requiring stronger tools. Ferulac works well on post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark marks left by spots) and general tone-evening, whereas indented scars need treatments with a different mechanism. Your cosmetologist will assess what's realistically achievable during a consultation.
How long does the series take and how many sessions do I need?
Most often the series is 4–6 sessions every 1–2 weeks. The glow effect shows up quickly, but work on hyperpigmentation and photoageing builds throughout the whole series. After that, maintenance sessions follow — seasonally, for instance, every few weeks. A single session is also useful as a quick refresh.
Do I need to change anything after the treatment?
Mainly one thing: SPF 50+ each morning for a few days — skin is more sensitive to UV after a peel. Hold off on retinol and strong home acids for a few days. You can train the next day — intense sweating right after the treatment can increase redness, so it's best to wait a few hours. Sauna and swimming pool — take a few days' break.
Is Ferulac right for me, given I don't use any creams?
Yes — and that's one of the reasons it's a good place to start. Skin with no regular care or SPF builds up UV damage faster. Ferulac neutralises some of that backlog and resets skin tone. Your cosmetologist will choose a variant suited to your skin's condition and phototype during a consultation, without assuming you follow an extensive routine.
