Lactipeel — lactic acid for women

Lactic acid peel and women’s skin — why this particular acid

Lactic peel for women is most often the answer to dryness, dehydration and loss of radiance — skin that feels tight in winter and from air conditioning, dull skin after summer, or a “first peel” without the risk of redness. We often combine it with hydrating treatments and skincare because the goal is the same: firm, smooth and radiant skin, not skin that has been “stripped”.
Czas
several dozen minutes (including cleansing and a soothing mask)
Efekt
hydration and radiance are usually visible straight away; even skin tone and improved skin condition develop and become established over a series
Regeneracja
minimal — usually only slight redness on the same day, without skin “peeling” in flakes
Seria
best as a series of 4–6 treatments every 1–2 weeks, followed by seasonal maintenance

When it's worth it — indications

  • Dry and dehydrated skin — tight after cleansing and flaky in places; lactic acid peel exfoliates while binding water, improving hydration rather than reducing it. This is the main indication.
  • Dull, tired-looking skin without radiance — skin that looks “lifeless” and no longer responds sufficiently to creams; the peel refreshes and brightens.
  • Sensitive and irritation-prone skin — for people who do not tolerate stronger acids well, lactic acid peel may be the safest choice.
  • “First peel” — when you want to try acids but are concerned about redness and skin peeling.
  • Slight unevenness in skin tone and early hyperpigmentation — lactic acid peel gently evens and brightens over a series.
  • Darker skin phototypes — gentle AHA peels carry a lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation than strong acids, provided selection is always made carefully by a cosmetologist.
  • “Instant” radiance — before a wedding, photoshoot or important meeting; lactic acid peel gives radiance without prolonged peeling.

The areas we work on

  1. dry, dehydrated skin — winter, air conditioning, heating;
  2. dull, tired-looking skin after summer and radiance “straight away” before an event;
  3. sensitive, reactive skin that does not tolerate stronger acids well;
  4. the perimenopausal period — thinner, drier skin;
  5. combining it with hydrating mesotherapy and hydrating courses in a series.

Lactic acid peel and women’s skin — why this particular acid

Lactic acid is the only AHA acid that both exfoliates and binds water in the epidermis — because it is a natural component of our own NMF, the skin’s moisturising factor. This means that for dry, dehydrated or sensitive skin, there is no gentler option that also delivers results. After the treatment, skin is smoother, firmer and brighter — without the price of days spent peeling in front of the mirror.
Women choose lactic acid peel at several specific times:
  • Winter and air conditioning — skin feels tight after washing, flakes in places and lacks radiance despite using creams; lactic acid peel refreshes and hydrates in one step.
  • Perimenopausal skin — thinner, drier and reactive to stronger acids; lactic acid peel works precisely without irritating a weakened barrier.
  • Brightening before an important event — a wedding, photoshoot or meeting; lactic acid peel gives radiance without the risk of peeling on the day you go out (we plan the final treatment several days in advance).
  • First peel — when you want results but are concerned about redness and a week without make-up.
  • A hydrating series with mesotherapy — lactic acid peel as an initial step prepares the skin for the deeper effects of hydrating mesotherapy; cosmetologists often combine both treatments for dry skin.

What women usually worry about — and what really happens

The most common concern is: I have sensitive skin, and I am worried it will be too much. Lactic acid peel is specifically a peel for sensitive skin. Your cosmetologist starts with the gentlest option and observes the reaction before increasing anything. Slight tingling during application is normal and short-lived with lactic acid peel. Redness usually settles on the same day.
Another concern is SPF — I do not use it every day. After a peel, SPF 50+ is essential for results, not optional. Freshly exfoliated skin develops hyperpigmentation more easily. Your cosmetologist will discuss this at the end of your visit and will consider your holiday plans when selecting the treatment date.

Home care — what helps and what gets in the way

After a lactic acid peel, your skin needs simple care for several days: gentle cleansing without strong acids and SLS, a hydrating cream with ceramides or hyaluronic acid, a hydrating serum and, without exception, SPF 50+. Stop using retinol, at-home AHA/BHA and other strong active ingredients for a few days. Do not combine them with a salon peel, to avoid irritating freshly exfoliated skin. Do not pull away any gentle peeling that may appear on days 1–3 — it will shed on its own.

Lactic acid peel as a series — how it works on women’s skin

A single treatment provides immediate radiance and hydration — ideal as a refresh before an event. Lasting even skin tone, improved dry skin condition and sustained hydration require a series. This is usually 4–6 treatments every 1–2 weeks, followed by seasonal maintenance, particularly before winter when the skin becomes dry. With subsequent treatments, your cosmetologist may gradually increase the intensity — or suggest moving to a stronger acid once your skin is ready.

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply make-up on the same day after a lactic acid peel?
It is best to give your skin that one evening. Freshly exfoliated skin will benefit more from a good serum and moisturiser than from foundation. You can apply make-up from the next day, once your skin is well hydrated. With a gentle lactic peel, many people leave the salon and go straight into town — wearing only moisturiser and SPF, with skin that looks better than before.
I am having a series of lactic peels — when and can I move on to a stronger acid?
It depends on your skin’s reaction and your goal. If, after several lactic peels, your skin is nourished, hydrated and tolerates the peel well, the cosmetologist may suggest mandelic acid (stronger exfoliation for hyperpigmentation and acne) or other acids. Lactic acid can also remain a regular part of your routine because it always hydrates — not every skin type needs to move on to something stronger.
I have sensitive, reactive skin — could a lactic peel harm it?
Lactic acid is a peel designed for sensitive and reactive skin. It has the largest molecule in the AHA group, so it works most slowly and superficially. The cosmetologist starts with the gentlest option. During your first treatment, they monitor your skin’s reaction and shorten the application time if needed. The result is exfoliation without irritation — working with your sensitivity, not against it.
Does a lactic peel help with dull, tired-looking skin in winter?
Yes — this is one of its main indications. In winter, skin loses water due to dry air and heating. This can leave it looking dull, tight and lifeless. Lactic acid exfoliates dead skin cells while binding water. Your skin is immediately smoother, firmer and more radiant. A winter series of lactic peels (4–6 treatments) is a classic hydrating and radiance-enhancing protocol.
Can I have a lactic peel while pregnant?
Superficial peels during pregnancy should be discussed individually. Many are debatable or avoided as a precaution. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, always tell the cosmetologist at the start of your appointment. We will then decide whether, and which, treatment is safe, or suggest an acid-free alternative.
