DermaQuest for men

Why men's skin needs a different approach

Men's skin is thicker and produces more sebum, so acne, excess oil and breakout marks are more common. Hence the focus on cleansing, tone-evening protocols with zero downtime in daily life — these are DermaQuest treatments for men.

When it's worth it — indications

Grey, tired, dull complexion — when the skin looks "dull", and cream has stopped helping.
Hyperpigmentation — sun-related, post-acne (PIH), hormonal; uneven skin tone.
Acne-prone and breakout-prone skin — including oily skin with enlarged pores.
First signs of ageing — fine lines, loss of elasticity, dullness.
Mature skin — needing intensive regeneration and density rebuilding.
Dehydrated skin — with disrupted hydration and a weakened barrier.
Anyone looking for a "needle-free" result — comparable to clinical treatments, but non-invasive.
Prevention and maintenance — seasonal treatments when your skin is in good condition and you want to keep it that way.

The areas we work on

anti-acne protocol — AHA/BHA acids + anti-inflammatory ingredients;
evening out skin tone — marks and hyperpigmentation from breakouts;
improving texture and reducing pore visibility (enzymes, exfoliating acids);
peptides for skin firmness — an alternative or complement to aesthetic medicine.

Why men's skin needs a different approach

Men's skin is on average 20–25% thicker than women's and produces significantly more sebum — hence a greater tendency towards acne, excess oil and enlarged pores. Daily shaving adds mechanical irritation and opens the door to bacterial infection. DermaQuest protocols matched to these characteristics deliver results an ordinary cream simply can't achieve.

The goal men bring to DermaQuest

The most common problems addressed by DermaQuest treatments in men:

Rejuvenation and a well-groomed appearance are entirely valid goals — no labels, no explaining yourself to anyone.

Acne and excess oil — AHA/BHA acids cleanse and regulate sebum production, while anti-inflammatory ingredients calm active breakouts.
Marks and hyperpigmentation from breakouts (PIH) — evening out skin tone after acne is one of the most common reasons men choose a series.
Rough texture and enlarged pores — plant enzymes and exfoliating acids smooth the surface and reduce the visibility of pores.
A well-groomed, fresh look without a "done" appearance — peptides improve skin firmness and density; this is the choice for men who want to look good, not "post-treatment".

Shaving and the DermaQuest protocol

If you shave regularly, it's worth mentioning this to your cosmetologist before choosing a protocol. Right after an acid peel, skin is in a renewal phase — avoid shaving with a classic razor for 1–2 days; an electric razor tends to be gentler. Your cosmetologist will factor this into the aftercare instructions.

Zero downtime — what this looks like in practice

Lighter DermaQuest protocols (mandelic acid, lactic acid, Stem Cell, C-Infusion) require no break from professional or social activity. With stronger acid peels, brief redness and mild flaking are possible for 2–4 days — this looks discreet, not dramatic. Have an important meeting coming up? Mention it to your cosmetologist, and they'll choose a protocol that won't clash with your calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a "women's" treatment, and will I look out of place in the salon?

No. DermaQuest is a protocol built on active ingredients — acids, retinol, peptides, vitamin C. Skin is skin, regardless of gender, and responds to the same biochemical mechanisms. At J'adore Instytut, men come in regularly — your cosmetologist works just as professionally, with no comments and no "women's ritual" attached.

I've had acne scars for years — will DermaQuest do anything about them?

It depends on the type of mark. Hyperpigmentation (PIH) — flat brown or reddish patches left by breakouts — responds well to acid peels, retinol and C-Infusion in a series. Deeper atrophic scars usually need stronger methods (such as fractional laser) — your cosmetologist will assess your skin and tell you plainly what you can expect from DermaQuest and what needs a different approach.

Can I have the treatment if I'm physically active and train regularly?

Yes. After lighter protocols, you can go back to training the next day. After stronger acid peels, it's worth waiting 24–48 hours before intense exercise and sauna — sweat and high temperature increase irritation on freshly exfoliated skin. SPF 50+ is essential every day, including training days outdoors.

How much does the full series cost, and do I have to buy DermaQuest products for home?

You receive a quote at the consultation, as it depends on the chosen protocol. Home care products DermaQuest are a recommendation, not an obligation — but if you use them between visits, the results of the series are noticeably better and longer lasting. The cosmetologist will indicate the minimum that genuinely supports the treatment, not everything on the shelf.

Can I shave after an acid peel?

Not directly after the treatment. Give your skin 1–2 days to settle — shaving with a razor on freshly exfoliated skin can cause irritation and redness. Your cosmetologist will tell you exactly when you can return to your shaving routine — usually 1–2 days is enough.
