FACIAL COSMETOLOGY

Protocol made to measure
“salon-grade”

Grey, tired skin, sun-related or post-breakout hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, first fine lines, skin that no longer "responds" to an ordinary cream — these are signs that general skincare has stopped being enough. DermaQuest is not a single treatment. It's a whole brand of professional salon protocols, and your cosmetologist combines them into a course tailored to your skin: an acid peel, a firming peptide treatment, a regenerating Stem Cell treatment, or a brightening C-Infusion with vitamin C.

This is cosmetology built on active ingredients with proven efficacy — acids, retinol, peptides, vitamins and plant stem cells. At J'adore Instytut, the treatment is performed by an experienced cosmetologist. Below you'll find everything worth knowing before your first visit.

  • Grey, tired skin without radiance
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Acne-prone and breakout-prone skin
  • First signs of ageing
  • Mature skin
  • Dehydrated skin
  • Anyone looking for a "needle-free" result
  • Prevention and maintenance

How it works

How it works

DermaQuest is an American brand of professional-only salon cosmetics, founded in 1995 by dermatologists and cosmetic chemists. Its formulas are built on ingredients with proven action: AHA/BHA acids, retinol, peptides, vitamins C and E, plant enzymes and plant stem cells (Stem Cell) — in concentrations available only in a salon, not from a drugstore shelf.

One word matters here: protocol. This isn't a single universal "DermaQuest treatment" — it's a set of treatments that your cosmetologist combines into a therapy for a specific concern: hyperpigmentation, acne, grey skin, loss of firmness. The result is matched to your skin and its current condition, not to a price list.

Three levels of skin in cross-section: the stratum corneum right at the top, the living epidermis beneath it, and deepest of all the dermis. The successive layers of the protocol work within the epidermis; the treatment does not break the skin barrier. The cosmetologist chooses the composition and the order of the treatments after assessing your skin.
  1. Stratum corneumthe barrier the treatment orders and protects
  2. Living epidermisthe level the actives reach
  3. Dermisdeeper than needle-free care reaches

Women's and men's protocols

What's different

For her

Why women's skin reacts differently

The most common goals are lightening hyperpigmentation, brightening grey skin and gentle rejuvenation, all while keeping the skin comfortable. We often combine protocols: brightening and hydrating ones in summer, stronger peels in autumn. These are classic DermaQuest treatments for women.

The areas we support

  1. brightening protocols — sun-related hyperpigmentation, PIH, uneven skin tone;
  2. peptide treatment and Stem Cell — first fine lines, density, "glow";
  3. C-Infusion with vitamin C — brightening and antioxidant support;
  4. protocols for sensitive, reactive skin — no strong acids, yet still effective.
For him

Why men's skin needs a different approach

Men's skin is thicker and produces more sebum, so acne, excess oil and breakout marks are more common. Hence the focus on cleansing, tone-evening protocols with zero downtime in daily life — these are DermaQuest treatments for men.

The areas we support

  1. anti-acne protocol — AHA/BHA acids + anti-inflammatory ingredients;
  2. evening out skin tone — marks and hyperpigmentation from breakouts;
  3. improving texture and reducing pore visibility (enzymes, exfoliating acids);
  4. peptides for skin firmness — an alternative or complement to aesthetic medicine.

Fun fact: plant stem cells (Stem Cell) in cosmetics don't "implant" anything into your skin — they're extracts from plant stem cells (such as alpine edelweiss or apple), rich in antioxidants and protective factors that support your skin's regeneration. It sounds futuristic, but it works gently.

Safety

What really determines the result

With acid treatments and active protocols, results and safety depend on three things worth asking about in any salon:

  1. Who performs the treatment

    Professional DermaQuest products are intended solely for certified cosmetologists — at J'adore, the protocol is chosen and administered by an experienced cosmetologist, not someone "after a short course". A cosmetologist assesses your skin's condition, chooses the concentration and controls the acid's exposure time.

  2. Whether the products are genuine

    We use only genuine DermaQuest products from legitimate supply chains, stored according to manufacturer guidelines. Counterfeit or improperly stored active cosmetics lead to unpredictable results and a real risk of irritation.

  3. Which protocol and concentration

    There's no single "DermaQuest peel". The type of acid, its concentration and exposure time are chosen individually by your cosmetologist after a diagnosis — which is why a consultation is essential, and the first treatment is often approached more cautiously, to see how your skin responds.

Red flag: a suspiciously cheap "DermaQuest" and miracle promises · A bargain price, a "DermaQuest peel" done in bulk without a skin diagnosis, non-genuine products, or promises like "all hyperpigmentation gone after one treatment" — these are warning signs. With active cosmetics, the origin of the product, how it's stored and the qualifications of the person performing the treatment matter just as much as the formula itself. You have every right to ask exactly which protocol and product will be used, and who will perform it. A good salon will answer without hesitation.

Contraindications

When to postpone the treatment

Some contraindications are permanent, and some are temporary — in that case, we simply postpone the treatment, or your cosmetologist chooses a gentler protocol until the situation passes.

We don't perform it
  • Pregnancy and breastfeedingthis applies especially to protocols with retinol and TCA.
  • Active herpes or a skin infection in the treatment areaincluding elsewhere on the face; we postpone until it heals, as the treatment can irritate and spread the lesions.
  • Active, extensive inflammation and acute-phase acnewe calm the skin first.
  • Hypersensitivity or allergy to ingredientsin DermaQuest products (acids, retinol, vitamin C).
  • Recent tanning or UV exposure without SPF protectionwe wait, to avoid irritation and hyperpigmentation.
  • Use of topical retinoidsrequires a break, the length of which is set by your cosmetologist.
  • Irritated, damaged or significantly reddened skinwe wait for the barrier to rebuild.

From the cosmetologist's chair

The most commonly forgotten issue is fresh tan and no SPF. A client comes in after their holiday wanting to "deal with hyperpigmentation", but their skin is still saturated with sun — in that case, a strong peel is a straight path to irritation and... more hyperpigmentation. It's better to start with a gentle protocol and introduce acids once the skin has cooled down.

This isn't a complete list — we'll go through your medications, conditions, allergies and previous treatments individually at consultation, and choose the protocol after diagnosing your skin.

The visit

What to expect during your visit

  1. DermaQuest — treatment at J'adore Instytut — Consultation and skin diagnosis

    Consultation and skin diagnosis

    your cosmetologist assesses your skin's condition, takes a history of your home care, medications and previous treatments. This is when the DermaQuest protocol is chosen.

  2. DermaQuest — treatment at J'adore Instytut — Skin cleansing

    Skin cleansing

    removing makeup and impurities with a DermaQuest product matched to your skin type.

  3. DermaQuest — treatment at J'adore Instytut — Application of the active product

    Application of the active product

    depending on the protocol: an acid peel (TCA, retinol, mandelic or lactic acid), a peptide serum, Stem Cell, or C-Infusion with a high concentration of vitamin C.

  4. DermaQuest — treatment at J'adore Instytut — Exposure time and neutralisation

    Exposure time and neutralisation

    the substance works on your skin for a controlled time; with acid peels, your cosmetologist manages this stage with particular precision.

  5. DermaQuest — treatment at J'adore Instytut — Massage / complementary techniques and a finishing mask

    Massage / complementary techniques and a finishing mask

    in lifting and hydrating protocols, these support absorption; a soothing or nourishing product and SPF protection finish the treatment.

  6. Aftercare instructions and series plan

    home care for the following days, plus a recommendation for DermaQuest products to use between visits.

What to expect

No surprises

Most importantly: the first "glow" is visible after just one visit, but lasting results — evening out hyperpigmentation, reducing acne, improving density — build over a series. This is a course of treatment, not a single "fix".

  1. Faza 1.immediately afterskin smooth and radiant; with acids, some redness possible, fading within hours
  2. Faza 2.first daysmild flaking after stronger peels — don't pick at the skin, hydrate and protect with SPF
  3. Faza 3.after the seriesevened skin tone, less hyperpigmentation and acne, better skin density and texture
  4. Faza 4.maintenanceseasonal treatments + home DermaQuest care maintain the result
I sometimes hear after a first visit: "it just got a bit brighter". That's how it should be. DermaQuest isn't a "one-off before the wedding" treatment (though we do have a banquet protocol for that), but a series-based course. Hyperpigmentation and acne don't clear after one peel — they clear with a consistent course and daily SPF.

What's normal after the treatment

  • with acid peels — brief tingling or redness during and right after application, usually fading within an hour;
  • after stronger peels (TCA, retinol) — mild flaking for 2–4 days; this is the desired, controlled renewal effect;
  • after lighter protocols (mandelic, lactic, hydrating, Stem Cell) — flaking is usually minimal or invisible, and skin looks radiant right away.

Results build and last for as long as you take care of your skin — with home care and sun protection, they hold well. Without SPF and with sun exposure, hyperpigmentation can return, which is why sun protection is part of the treatment, not an add-on.

DermaQuest and your lifestyle

What and when

The most common questions aren't about the treatment itself, but about what comes after: makeup, sun, sauna, swimming pool, home peels, retinol. There's one rule — for a few days after an acid peel, skin is in a renewal phase, and we don't want to irritate it further or expose it to the sun.

  1. Makeup

    ideally from the next day

    After lighter protocols, you can apply makeup soon after, but after an acid peel, let your skin breathe — ideally wait until the next day, onto fresh, cleansed skin.

  2. Sun and SPF

    SPF 50+ essential

    This is the most important point: after treatments with acids and vitamin C, skin is sensitive to UV. Avoid intense sun and tanning beds for a few days, and apply SPF 50+ daily — even on cloudy days. Without it, hyperpigmentation will return.

  3. Sauna and hot baths

    24–48 hours' break

    High temperature increases redness and irritation on freshly exfoliated skin. Sauna, hammam and hot baths — best to wait 1–2 days.

  4. Swimming pool

    wait a few days

    Chlorinated water irritates skin during its renewal phase. After an acid peel, skip the pool for a few days, until the epidermis rebuilds.

  5. Home peels and brushes

    pause for around a week

    Don't add further exfoliation after the treatment: coarse peels, brushes, sponges — pause these for around a week. Your skin has already been professionally exfoliated.

  6. Home retinol

    pause per your cosmetologist's advice

    Before and after stronger protocols, we usually pause home retinol for a set time — to avoid stacking irritation. Your cosmetologist sets the exact break.

DermaQuest

Frequently asked questions

  1. QuestionAfter how many sessions will I see results?
    AnswerThe first brightening and smoother texture is visible after just one visit. Lasting results — evening out hyperpigmentation, reducing acne, improving density — require a series, usually 4–6 sessions every 1–2 weeks. Your cosmetologist sets an individual plan at your first consultation.
  2. QuestionAre the results lasting?
    AnswerResults build and last with a series of sessions and home care. Skin renews itself naturally, so we repeat treatments seasonally. For hyperpigmentation, daily SPF is essential — without it, pigment can return.
  3. QuestionDoes this work on hyperpigmentation the way a laser does?
    AnswerIt's a different route to the same goal. DermaQuest works with active ingredients (acids, vitamin C, retinol) and evens out skin tone gradually and gently. For resistant, localised pigment, your cosmetologist may suggest complementing it with a laser treatment.
