HIFU (BTL HIPRO / Ultraformer) for men

HIFU for men — when your face "looks tired" even though you're not

Men's skin is thicker and more vascularised, and the goal is clear: a defined, masculine jawline without a "worked on" look. This is so-called HIFU for men — increasingly chosen instead of the scalpel.

When it's worth it — indications

  • A sagging facial contour — jowls, a blurring jawline, drooping cheeks.
  • A double chin and soft submental area — when the jawline loses its sharpness.
  • A lax neck and submental fullness — looser skin, horizontal neck lines.
  • The décolletage — fine lines and loss of firmness in an exposed area.
  • Drooping eyelids and a "heavy" gaze — a subtle lift of the brow area.
  • Lax body skin — abdomen, arms, thighs, knees, especially after weight loss or pregnancy (dedicated body heads).
  • Prevention — when the skin starts losing elasticity, to slow the sagging of the contour.

The areas we work on

  1. jawline and chin — a sharp, defined jaw contour;
  2. a soft submental area and "second chin";
  3. a lax abdomen and "love handles" after weight loss or body-shaping training;
  4. zero downtime — a meeting or workout the next day is no problem.

HIFU for men — when your face "looks tired" even though you're not

Few men talk about it directly, but the moment is telling: someone asks "are you okay? you look tired", even though you slept normally. Or in a photo from a conference, you notice the jawline — once sharp — has lost definition, and something's appeared under the chin that wasn't there before. It's not about fitness or sleep. After age 35–40, the skin's support structure starts to loosen, and in men, the lower face and submental area "speak" first.
HIFU is a natural choice here, because it addresses exactly this problem: it restores tension to the deep layer without changing your features or expression. You define the goal yourself — and it's entirely individual. For some, it's a subtle reduction of the tired look, to stop hearing questions about being sleep-deprived. For others — a noticeable rejuvenation and a strong, well-defined jawline. HIFU covers this whole spectrum; it's a matter of adjusting intensity and the work map to match your goal precisely, rather than a separate treatment.

Men's skin plays by its own rules

The difference isn't cosmetic — it's physiological, and it affects the entire protocol. Men's skin is thicker, denser and more vascularised, with more collagen and sebaceous glands. In the context of HIFU, this is an advantage: more tissue to work with means more material from which the skin can rebuild collagen. At the same time, thicker skin requires different energy and depth settings than for a woman — settings tailored for thin, female skin simply won't penetrate male tissue the way they should. That's why the same treatment "by name" requires precisely calibrated parameters for a man, and the operator's experience makes a real difference to the result.
The second male-specific factor is the distribution of laxity. Men rarely develop the "jowl"-style sagging cheeks — the problem concentrates lower, in the chin–submental–neck triangle, because that's where a man's face first loses definition. This changes the work map: we work more densely along the jawline and under the chin, rather than across the whole face. The third factor is facial hair — the head and treatment points are planned with the beard and submental area in mind, where the skin also bears the daily strain of shaving.

The zones men care about most

  • The jawline and chin — the most common goal: a sharp, defined contour that reads as a "strong face", in photos and in person.
  • The submental area and "second chin" — a soft area that particularly gives away age in profile and on video calls, where the camera looks slightly upward.
  • The neck — sagging skin and horizontal lines, usually hidden by a collar, but visible without one: on holiday, in a T-shirt, at an evening event.
  • The abdomen and "love handle" area after weight loss — loose skin left after shedding weight or after body-shaping work, when tissue has reduced but the skin envelope remains. HIFU for the body tightens it (it doesn't reduce fat — that's the job of training and diet).

"Will anyone notice I've had something done?" — no

This question comes up most often with men, because many don't want anyone to know about their visit to the salon. The answer is clear: no. HIFU doesn't produce a dramatic change or a "worked on" look — people register that you look better and more rested, but they can't pinpoint "what's changed". Equally important for men: there's no "waiting period" during which your face shows you've been to a cosmetologist. You don't need to explain any bruising or swelling, or take time off — discretion is built into the method itself, from the first minute after you leave the salon.

Zero downtime — a treatment that fits a man's schedule

For men, a practical argument often settles the matter: HIFU requires no recovery period. There are no bandages, dressings or visible marks, so nothing clashes with a packed calendar. A business meeting that same afternoon, a video call with a client, dinner, a presentation to the board — you do all of it as usual, without working out "when to fit the treatment in". In practice, HIFU is one of the few aesthetic treatments a man can fit into a break during the working day and go straight back to the office, as if he'd just been to lunch. What's worth briefly holding off on — sport and the sauna — is covered below, but that's a matter of two days, not weeks out of action.

Frequently asked questions

When can I shave normally after the treatment?
Shaving comes back almost immediately — ideally gently the next day, with a sharp razor, without heavy pressure, and avoiding harsh, alcohol-based aftershaves for the first few days. The skin can be tender for a while, so gentle strokes work better than a vigorous dry shave. After a few days, you're back to your usual routine.
Is facial hair or a beard a problem for HIFU?
No — a beard doesn't rule out the treatment. The cosmetologist plans the head's work and point map around the facial hair and submental area. If you wear a thick beard, some of the effect along the jawline itself will simply be less visually apparent, but the tightening beneath still takes place — and if you ever trim the beard shorter, the sharper contour will become visible. This is worth discussing at consultation.
I train regularly and don't want to lose my rhythm — how do I fit this in?
Skip intense training and the sauna for 1–2 days after the treatment, as strong heat and accelerated circulation can worsen temporary swelling. A walk and light activity the same day are fine. In practice, it's enough to schedule HIFU at the start of a recovery day, or on a Friday — and you're back to full training loads after the weekend, without losing a single training microcycle.
I have noticeably loose abdominal skin after losing weight — will HIFU fix that?
HIFU will tighten lax skin, but it won't remove fat tissue — those are two different things. If the issue is purely a loose skin envelope after weight loss and your weight has already stabilised, HIFU for the body is a sensible tool. If there's still tissue to reduce underneath, we work on that first with training and diet, and HIFU adds the final tightening at the end. We'll give you a realistic assessment at consultation.
Can I combine HIFU with other treatments for a fuller result?
Yes, and we often do. HIFU handles structure and tension, while complementary treatments can improve skin quality or smooth expression lines on the forehead. The logic stays the same: structure first, finishing touches after. The order, spacing and what actually makes sense for you are decided by a specialist at consultation — you don't buy a "blind package".
