HIFU (BTL HIPRO / Ultraformer) for women

HIFU for women — why the contour "sinks" and why it isn't about weight

The most common goal is lifting the contour and sharpening the jawline, along with firming the neck and décolletage, while keeping a fully natural look. Classic HIFU for women is also used as "40+" prevention and to gently "open up" the gaze.

When it's worth it — indications

  • A sagging facial contour — jowls, a blurring jawline, drooping cheeks.
  • A double chin and soft submental area — when the jawline loses its sharpness.
  • A lax neck and submental fullness — looser skin, horizontal neck lines.
  • The décolletage — fine lines and loss of firmness in an exposed area.
  • Drooping eyelids and a "heavy" gaze — a subtle lift of the brow area.
  • Lax body skin — abdomen, arms, thighs, knees, especially after weight loss or pregnancy (dedicated body heads).
  • Prevention — when the skin starts losing elasticity, to slow the sagging of the contour.

The areas we work on

  1. facial contour, jowls, drooping cheeks;
  2. the neck, submental area and décolletage — the zones that give away age fastest;
  3. a gentle lift of the brow area and "heavy" eyelids;
  4. the body: abdominal and arm skin after pregnancy or weight loss.

HIFU for women — why the contour "sinks" and why it isn't about weight

Most women don't notice it suddenly — they notice it in one particular photo, or in the mirror under side lighting: a jawline that used to be a smooth, clear curve now looks slightly "blurred", a cheek sits lower, and the skin near the corners of the mouth starts forming subtle folds. This isn't "you've put on weight" or "you're not sleeping enough". It's gravity acting on a structure that has lost some tension in the deep support layer.
In women, this process has its own dynamic. Women's skin is thinner and has less collagen than men's skin to begin with, and after age 40 — especially around perimenopause, as oestrogen drops — the rate of collagen loss speeds up noticeably. Studies point to a loss of up to around 30% of collagen in the first five years after menopause. That's why a change that unfolds over a decade for a friend can "jump" for you within two or three years — and it's precisely this unevenness that tends to be the most frustrating part. That's why, for women, HIFU very often becomes not a rescue measure but a deliberate, pre-emptive decision — made before the contour sags enough to require mechanical methods.

The zones that give away age fastest in women

The face ages unevenly, and in women the sequence is fairly predictable. The neck and submental area speak first — the skin there is exceptionally thin, almost lacking sebaceous glands and fatty support, so it loses firmness faster than the cheeks. The décolletage follows, exposed to sun daily and compressed by side-sleeping. Only later does the lower face start to give way.
In practice, women rarely ask for just one zone. It's mostly about consistency — so that a tightened contour doesn't clash with a neglected neck, because that looks unnatural and, paradoxically, ages the face further. That's why we often combine the face with the neck and décolletage into one thought-out plan for women.
  • The neck and submental area — often "ahead" of the face by several years; they're what gives away age in a side profile photo, even when the face still looks fresh from the front.
  • The décolletage — fine, vertical lines and loss of density in an area that's hard to hide in summer or evening wear.
  • The contour and cheeks — the "jowl" effect and sagging, as the support structure loosens.
  • The brow area and a "heavy" gaze — a subtle lift that opens up the eye and reduces the appearance of tiredness.

HIFU on the body — skin after pregnancy and after weight loss

This is a subject women ask about with the greatest hesitation, and one that concerns a huge group. After pregnancy, the skin of the abdomen is often stretched and lax despite returning to one's previous weight — because for nine months the fibres were stretched beyond their elasticity. After significant weight loss — regardless of whether it is the result of diet, exercise or a change in lifestyle — the skin of the arms, inner thighs, knees and abdomen does not always "keep up" with the figure and remains looser. These are precisely the areas women most often hide under clothing, even though their figure is already the one they fought for. HIFU for the body (with special handpieces offering greater coverage) works precisely here: it does not reduce fat tissue, it only tightens the skin envelope. It works best when the weight is already stabilised — then the effect has something to "settle" on and will not be undone by further fluctuations.

Natural results come from precision matched to your skin

The most common concern among women is: "will I end up looking fake, like an overdone treatment?" Here's the key point: a natural result is an effect precisely matched to your skin — its thickness, degree of laxity, and specific zone. A woman's skin around the eyes is different from her cheek, and the skin on the neck is different from the contour — each area needs a different depth and intensity of work. The cosmetologist maps out the treatment points to work exactly where needed, and exactly as much as your skin needs. It's this individual customisation, not chance, that makes the face look like yours — just rested. Fakeness comes from a template; naturalness comes from precision.

When to plan the treatment — a woman's calendar

For women, it's worth fitting HIFU into two calendars at once. The first is the hormonal calendar: if you're entering perimenopause, that's the moment when getting ahead of the process pays off most — it's easier to maintain tension than to rebuild it from a deeply sagged contour. The second is the events calendar: your own wedding or your daughter's, a milestone anniversary, a jubilee, a photo shoot — all things you want to experience with the contour already "settled". Since the full effect builds gradually, simply book such dates with enough lead time (we'll set the exact timing during consultation). A practical bonus: HIFU doesn't make the skin sun-sensitive the way peels or ablative lasers do, so you don't need to "avoid it in summer" — we perform it year-round, provided you keep up daily SPF protection.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have HIFU while breastfeeding, or if I'm planning another child?
We postpone the treatment during pregnancy and breastfeeding — it's a contraindication. If you're planning another child, the most sensible approach is to have HIFU once breastfeeding has ended and your weight has stabilised. That way, the effect on your abdominal or facial skin has a real chance of holding, rather than being undone by the further hormonal and weight changes that come with pregnancy.
Can I put on make-up and go straight back to work after the treatment?
Yes. HIFU leaves no bandages or visible marks, and you can apply light make-up the same day or the next — foundation will easily cover any mild redness. This is a treatment after which you can go back to the office, a meeting or picking up the kids from school without explaining yourself to anyone.
I have fillers in my cheeks and Botox — will HIFU "dissolve" them?
We always discuss this during consultation. Generally, we keep a gap from recently administered Botox or filler in the treatment zone, and plan the point map to work safely around them. HIFU and fillers often complement each other — one tightens the structure, the other restores volume that declines in the cheeks with age — but the order and spacing are decided by a specialist.
Will HIFU help with lines around the eyes and "sad" corners of the mouth?
HIFU subtly lifts the brow area and improves skin firmness, which can "open up" the gaze and gently define the contour. However, expression lines around the eyes or drooping corners of the mouth are often better addressed with other methods (such as botulinum toxin). The best results come from a well-thought-out plan, where HIFU handles structure and complementary treatments handle expression-related details.
How should I care for my skin at home to make the results last longer?
New collagen likes skin that is well hydrated and protected. In addition to daily SPF, it is worth incorporating a serum with hyaluronic acid and peptides, as well as an antioxidant with vitamin C, which support rebuilding from within. A protein-rich diet and adequate water intake also genuinely help — collagen is made from the building blocks you supply to your body, so what you eat translates into how long the skin maintains its firmness.
