Fractional ABLATIVE laser (iPIXEL Er:YAG + CO2) for women

Why women choose ablative laser

For women, the most common goals are acne scars on the face, stretch marks after pregnancy, and general resurfacing of the face, neck and décolletage. This is classic ablative fractional laser for women — rebuilding texture and flattening marks, with an emphasis on planning recovery around your life and commitments.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Acne scars — atrophic (ice-pick, boxcar, rolling); flattening and restructuring the tissue is the main indication for ablative lasers.
  • Post-surgical and post-injury scars — softening, smoothing, improved elasticity.
  • Stretch marks — fresh (red) marks respond better and faster; old (white) ones need more patience and more sessions.
  • Deep wrinkles and uneven texture — resurfacing, meaning rebuilding the "quality" of the skin's surface.
  • Enlarged pores — reducing their visibility.
  • Photoageing — skin roughened and unevenly toned after years of sun exposure.
  • Selected hyperpigmentation and superficial skin changes — after specialist assessment.

Why women choose ablative laser

Acne scars from teenage and student years are one of the most personal concerns we see in the salon — they affect the everyday ritual of looking in the mirror, confidence in your own face, and makeup decisions. Stretch marks after pregnancy, meanwhile, are the trace of a process that's entirely natural but not always one you want to carry for life. Ablative fractional laser — in either Er:YAG or CO2 form — gives you a tool for real remodelling of these changes, not just camouflage.
The female treatment area is primarily the face, neck, décolletage and post-pregnancy body — abdomen, thighs, buttocks, breasts. The goal: evening out texture, flattening scars and fading stretch marks enough that they no longer draw attention.

Stretch marks after pregnancy — what's worth knowing in advance

Fresh, red stretch marks respond noticeably better to laser than old, white ones — this is one of the few areas in aesthetics where acting sooner genuinely means a better result. If you're postpartum and have finished breastfeeding, this is a good time for a consultation.
The result of a series of treatments is fading and smoothing, not complete disappearance — it's worth having this picture clear before your first visit, because the real gain is significant, while inflated expectations lead to disappointment for no good reason.

How to plan the treatment around your life

A few days of recovery after an ablative laser isn't a myth — redness, mild flaking and micro-crusting are a normal stage of healing, not a complication. Women most often ask if it will be visible that they've had something done — for a few days, yes; after that, skin is simply smoother and better cared for.
A practical approach:
  • Schedule your first session for a calmer week — no important trip, wedding, photoshoot or event;
  • If you're breastfeeding, you'll need to wait — the treatment is contraindicated during this time;
  • Spring and autumn are the preferred seasons for ablative lasers — less sun, less risk of pigmentation;
  • If you have a lighter skin tone, CO2 can deliver a stronger effect in a single session; with darker skin, a specialist will more often choose Er:YAG and more cautious settings.

Resurfacing the face, neck and décolletage

If the concern isn't just scars but overall skin quality — enlarged pores, uneven texture, early signs of photoageing, roughness despite good skincare — ablative laser delivers a thorough restructuring, not just surface smoothing. The effect builds over several weeks after the treatment, as new collagen matures. It won't be visible straight after you leave the salon — and that's by design.

Frequently asked questions

Can I book a laser session if I have active acne scars, but the acne itself isn't fully under control yet?
Active acne and inflammation in the treatment area are contraindications — the skin needs to stabilise first, then the laser can follow. During consultation, a specialist will assess whether your skin is ready, or whether additional treatment should come first.
How many sessions do I need for deep acne scars (ice-pick, boxcar)?
Deep atrophic scars call for patience — usually a series of several sessions spaced several weeks apart. We assess results after each session has healed and collagen has matured, not after the first visit.
Can ablative laser help with stretch marks from many years ago?
Old, white stretch marks respond more slowly than fresh, red ones — that's physiology, not a limitation of the method. A series can bring clear improvement (fading, smoothing), but it needs more patience and often more sessions. We set a specific plan after assessing the marks.
I'm planning a pregnancy in a year's time — is now a good moment for ablative laser on stretch marks from my previous pregnancy?
If you're not currently pregnant or breastfeeding, you can safely start a series. A future pregnancy won't undo results on the treated tissue, though new stretch marks may appear elsewhere — that's not a reason to postpone your decision now.
I get recurring cold sores on my lips and want a full-face laser session — what should I do?
Be sure to mention this during consultation — it matters more than you might think. Ablative laser can reactivate the cold sore virus even outside the treated area. A specialist will often recommend antiviral prophylaxis before the treatment; an active outbreak means postponing the session.
