Fractional NON-ABLATIVE laser for women

Why women choose this treatment

Non-ablative fractional laser in women is most often aimed at achieving smooth, "glass" skin: even texture, smaller pores, a brighter, more uniform tone and gentle rejuvenation. We often combine it with skincare and skin stimulation to make the effect more comprehensive.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Acne scars — shallow and moderate unevenness left by past acne (the main indication).
  • Uneven skin texture — roughness, an "orange-peel" look up close, a dull tone.
  • Enlarged pores — especially on the nose and cheeks, with oily skin.
  • Fine lines and wrinkles — when it's about surface quality, not volume.
  • Loss of firmness and "freshness" — early signs of skin fatigue and photoageing.
  • Grey, tired-looking skin — when creams only improve it on the surface.
  • People who can't take a week off — who want fractional laser results with minimal recovery time.

The areas we work on

  1. acne scars on the cheeks, texture, fine lines;
  2. face, as well as the neck, décolletage and hands (zones that give away your age);
  3. a "fresh skin effect" before an important event — planned well in advance;
  4. gentler settings and a focus on comfort and short healing time.

Why women choose this treatment

Acne scars on the cheeks that stay for years despite countless creams and peels. Pores visible in every close-up. Skin that looks good only in soft light, and gives away every unevenness in natural light. These are structural issues — and non-ablative fractional laser is exactly the tool that reaches what no cream can, without disappearing for a week.
For women, the most common concerns are: acne scars on the cheeks and jawline, enlarged pores on the nose and temples, and loss of skin smoothness after thirty. But just as common is the wish for "glass skin" — an even, smoothed-out tone that lets makeup sit perfectly, or means you don't need it at all.

Zones you don't see every day — but that give away your age

Women more often than men come in not just about the face, but also the neck, décolletage and hands — zones that often age faster than the face, yet rarely get proper attention. Non-ablative fractional laser can work on these areas, and a treatment plan often covers more than one zone. A specialist decides this during consultation — taking into account the degree of change, your priorities and your lifestyle.

Getting back to life and makeup — the reality

The most common question in the salon is: "when can I go back to work and wear foundation?" With the non-ablative version (Palomar Emerge), the answer is very different from ablative lasers. Redness usually lasts 1–3 days, and makeup — as advised by your specialist — is often fine from the next day. There's no week "at home", no peeling skin to hide. That doesn't mean the skin isn't working — it's working hard underneath, building new collagen — but to the outside world, you simply look like you've had a salon session.
If you're planning an important event (a wedding, a photo shoot, an anniversary), plan well ahead: the series needs several visits a few weeks apart, and we assess the full result only a few months after the last session. Build in a margin.

Skincare through the series — what's worth knowing

During a laser series, the skin is in a mode of intensive remodelling. A few things that genuinely help:
  • SPF 50+ every day — not just in the sun, not just in summer. This is essential throughout the whole series and for a few weeks afterwards.
  • Active skincare on pause — retinol, AHA/BHA acids, vitamin C are paused before and after the treatment as advised by your specialist. It's not a permanent ban — it's a recovery window.
  • Precise hydration — a simple, regenerating formula with ceramides and panthenol does more good than a complex serum right after a session.
  • No mechanical exfoliation — no scraping, no scrubbing tools. The micro-flaking sheds on its own, and that's exactly how it should be.

Frequently asked questions

Will makeup cover the redness after the treatment?
With the non-ablative version, redness is usually mild enough that a good foundation or concealer does the job — often from the very next day (as advised by your specialist). This is a completely different situation from ablative laser, where makeup is off-limits for several days.
I have sensitive skin, rosacea / reactive skin — can I have this treatment?
This needs individual assessment. Reactive skin isn't an automatic contraindication, but a specialist assesses during consultation whether and how it can be treated safely — sometimes starting gently to test tolerance first. Don't rule it out without a conversation with our team.
Do pores actually shrink after laser treatment?
Yes, after a series — collagen remodelling around the pores improves their appearance and makes them less visible. This effect builds over weeks after each session, and it's not visible right after the first visit.
Can I have laser treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No — pregnancy and breastfeeding are contraindications for laser treatment. Revisit this once breastfeeding has ended, and speak with a specialist.
How do I combine laser with the home skincare I already use?
A specialist will review your current routine during consultation and tell you what to pause during the treatment window and what to keep or add. The rule is simple: in the first days after a session, we focus on regeneration and protection, and active products return gradually as skin becomes ready.
