How many days will I actually be out of action?
With non-ablative fractional laser (Palomar Emerge), redness usually lasts 1–3 days — for most men, it's more visible that same evening, and by the third day skin looks calm again. Sauna, intense training and the pool — pause for about a week. Desk work or meetings — no need to pause at all.
I have a beard — can I have the treatment on my whole face?
It depends on how dense your facial hair is and which area you want to improve. A specialist will assess how to approach the bearded area during consultation. It's not an automatic obstacle, but it does need an individual plan.
How many sessions do I need for acne scars?
It depends on how deep and extensive the scars are. Shallow and moderate scars respond well to a series of several sessions a few weeks apart. Deeper scars may need more sessions, or an assessment of whether the ablative version would be better. You'll get a proper plan during a free consultation.
Can I keep using the facial skincare products I already use?
During the series: products with retinol, acids and strong vitamin C are paused as advised by your specialist, in the window before and after treatment. Simple hydration and SPF 50+ — actually required. A specialist will review your routine during consultation and tell you what to keep and what to pause.
Is the treatment painful?
After the numbing cream is applied, sensations are mild — mainly warmth and slight tingling. The non-ablative version is noticeably gentler than ablative lasers. Most men describe the treatment as tolerable or comfortable.
