Thicker skin, stronger barrier — and why this is a problem

Male skin is anatomically thicker — on average by 20–25% than female skin — and produces more sebum. This is an evolutionary advantage. It offers better resistance to mechanical injury and slower surface ageing. But it comes at a price. Active substances applied to a man's skin have a much harder task reaching the layers where regeneration occurs. Standard serum penetrates the epidermis and stays there — it does not go deeper.
Nanopore DermaQuest changes this balance precisely. The device creates thousands of controlled micro-channels in the epidermis — much smaller than a medical Dermapen. Through these, the immediately applied DermaQuest serum penetrates many times deeper. Retinol, vitamin C, peptides and growth factors work where collagen and elastin are produced. You get the effect of deep regeneration without intense downtime.

Daily care and the tired city — the reality of male skin

Daily shaving — regardless of technique — causes micro-injuries to the epidermis. A razor blade, even the best one, irritates the skin mechanically. It disrupts the barrier and leaves it in a state of increased reactivity. Add to this urban pollution, working under artificial light and a lack of hydration. Result: the skin looks constantly tired and grey, with enlarged pores and uneven texture — even if there is no specific ailment.
Nanopore addresses exactly this type of problem. A deep infusion of hydrating and antioxidant serum rebuilds the barrier, evens out the tone and restores skin density. Treatment parameters — channel depth and serum composition — are selected for your anatomy and goal, not according to a template. After a series, the skin looks well-groomed and healthy, without signs of stress or visible external intervention.

Acne, scars, hyperpigmentation — a precise target

Acne scars in men are often deeper and more permanent than in women. Thicker dermis means a more extensive fibrous reaction. Nanopore with a stimulating serum (e.g. with peptide complexes or growth factors) triggers the natural tissue remodelling process. Micro-injuries activate fibroblasts, while deeply delivered ingredients provide ready-made building blocks. The effect is gradual but cumulative. After a series, scars become noticeably shallower and less contrasted with the rest of the skin.
Sun spots — a typical problem for physically active men — respond well to serum with vitamin C and depigmenting complexes applied through nano-channels. Deeper penetration translates into faster and more lasting evening of the skin tone than with surface application.

Before an important outing — how much time after the treatment?

Immediately after Nanopore, the skin may be slightly red. This is comparable to the effect after intense washing or a facial massage. In most men, the redness subsides within 2–4 hours. There are no visible puncture marks, scabs or peeling. You can return to work, meetings and normal activity on the same day.
The only thing we postpone is shaving — ideally for 24 hours after the treatment. A wet shave on freshly needled skin is an unnecessary risk of irritation. An electric trimmer is safer if the need is urgent.

Frequently asked questions

When can I shave after the treatment?
Wait at least 24 hours before a wet shave. Micro-channels need time to close, and a razor on freshly needled skin causes unnecessary irritation. You can use an electric trimmer earlier if necessary, as it is less mechanically aggressive. After 24–48 hours, shaving returns to normal without restrictions.
Can I do strength training the day after the treatment?
It is best to postpone intense strength training for 24 hours after the treatment. Sweat, increased body temperature and skin congestion during exercise can irritate the needled epidermis and prolong redness. Light activity — a walk, stretching — is possible on the same day. After 24 hours, you return to your full training plan without restrictions.
Will anyone notice I had a treatment?
No — and this is one of the main reasons men choose Nanopore. Slight redness after the treatment is invisible for most men after just a few hours. There are no scabs, peeling or obvious signs. Results build up gradually. After a series, the skin looks healthy and well-groomed, without signalling external intervention.
Does Nanopore help with acne scars?
Yes — this is a good indication for men. Collagen stimulation through micro-needling combined with deeply applied serum (e.g. with growth factors or repair peptides) gradually improves the appearance of scars. They become shallower and less contrasted, and the skin texture evens out. Deeper, permanent scars require a medical Dermapen or fractional laser. The cosmetologist will assess which protocol is right for your skin.
Is the serum composition fixed, or can I choose the goal?
DermaQuest serum is selected individually based on a consultation — there is no single protocol for everyone. A different cocktail is chosen for a regenerative goal (tired, grey skin), another for sun spots, another for scars and uneven texture, and another for loss of tension and first wrinkles. Treatment parameters are adapted to your anatomy and current skin condition, not a general template.
