Hydrogen cleansing (H₂) for women

Skin that works harder than you'd think

The most common goal is brightening, hydration and an even skin tone — a "skin glow" before an event, or a regular treatment to keep pores in check. We select the serum to suit the need: hydrating, brightening or soothing. This is classic hydrogen facial cleansing for women.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Skin with enlarged, clogged pores — the T-zone, nose, chin; clearing sebum plugs visually narrows pores.
  • Oily and combination skin — it regulates sebum production without drying or tightening the skin.
  • Grey, fatigued skin — ideal "before an event", ahead of a wedding, gala or photo session; the glow shows immediately.
  • Dehydrated and dry skin — serum infusion delivers hydration where a cream can't reach.
  • Sensitive and reactive skin — this gentle, "wet" method doesn't irritate or redden the skin.
  • Vascular skin — the gentle action doesn't put strain on broken capillaries (with active redness, we assess this during consultation).
  • Comedonal and mild inflammatory acne — clearing pores reduces new breakouts (for severe pustular acne → see a dermatologist).
  • Skin after summer / UV exposure — antioxidant support and a refreshed skin tone.

The areas we work on

  1. a glow effect "before an event" — a wedding, photo session, gala, important meeting;
  2. sensitive, vascular skin that can't tolerate aggressive extraction;
  3. dehydration and dullness after winter or after summer;
  4. regular care as a series — keeping pores clear and skin tone even.

Skin that works harder than you'd think

Women's facial skin deals every day with layers of foundation, concealer, powder and SPF — and beneath it all, pores trying to breathe. Add to that hormonal fluctuations: sebum increases before ovulation, skin reacts inflammatorily during the luteal phase, and it's dry and dull during menstruation. These aren't quirks — it's physiology. Hydrogen facial cleansing was designed for skin that needs a deep reset but is too reactive, or too well cared for, to tolerate aggressive methods.
Active H⁻ ions dissolve the build-up trapped in pores beneath layers of cosmetics — sebum mixed with pigments, emulsifier residue from creams, oxidised UV filter particles. This is something daily cleansing, even with the best micellar water, simply can't achieve. After the treatment, skin quite literally breathes differently.

Your skincare routine and hydrogen facial cleansing

If you use retinol, AHA/BHA acids or active serums, you don't need to stop using them before the treatment. The only rule: don't apply them the evening before your visit, so your skin isn't in an accelerated state going in. After the treatment, your skin is unusually receptive — this is the best moment to introduce a new serum, or increase your retinol concentration, because the barrier is strengthened, not weakened. The treatment doesn't compete with your routine — it optimises it.
Combining hydrogen facial cleansing with other treatments isn't just possible, it's advisable: it prepares the skin beautifully before needle mesotherapy, laser therapy or deeper-strength chemical peels. Your cosmetologist will plan the order and intervals so the effects reinforce each other.

Results on sensitive, vascular skin and skin with hyperpigmentation

If you have vascular skin, or skin that shows redness lasting for hours after any mechanical cleansing, hydrogen facial cleansing is a method suited to your needs. H⁻ ions don't require any friction or pressure on the skin: they work chemically, not mechanically. Blood vessels aren't irritated, and the anti-inflammatory effect of hydrogen ions further calms reactive skin.
For hyperpigmentation — whether post-acne or sun-induced — a regular series of hydrogen facial cleansing treatments smooths texture and evens skin tone, creating a base on which brightening serums work more effectively. Treatment parameters are always personalised to your skin's current condition and your care goals.

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply makeup straight after the treatment for an important event?
Yes — hydrogen facial cleansing leaves no visible marks and doesn't irritate the skin, so makeup can be applied immediately. If you're going out that evening, it's best to book your visit for the same day — skin glows more intensely for a few hours after the treatment, and makeup applies especially smoothly. We recommend just one adjustment: use a lighter foundation instead of a heavier one, so you don't cover up the glow.
Is hydrogen facial cleansing safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
During this time we recommend consulting your doctor before booking the treatment — not because the treatment is considered risky, but because skincare priorities shift during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and it can be worth adjusting the plan to your current stage. Our cosmetologists are happy to discuss this with you during a free consultation.
I use retinol every other day — when should I last apply it before the treatment?
Skip your retinol application the evening before your visit. There's no need for a longer break — hydrogen facial cleansing doesn't irritate the skin and doesn't interact with retinol. You can resume your routine the following evening after the treatment. If you'd like to check how your specific skincare fits into a treatment plan, your cosmetologist will discuss this with you at your visit.
Will the result look natural, or will people be able to tell I've had a treatment?
The result is precisely described as brightening and improved texture — not swelling, not redness, not a change anyone would read as "you've had something done". Most clients hear, on returning home or to the office: "you look fresh" or "you look well-rested" — and that's it. No marks, no questions.
Will this replace my regular manual cleansing sessions with a cosmetologist?
These are two distinct treatments with different modes of action. Manual cleansing (with extraction) is irreplaceable for deep, compacted comedones. Hydrogen facial cleansing works well as regular maintenance care between manual sessions, and for sensitive skin, as a primary cleansing method without the need for extraction. Your cosmetologist will suggest a combined plan tailored to your skin.
