Hydrogen cleansing (H₂) — treatment at J'adore InstytutA treatment room at J'adore

FACIAL COSMETOLOGY

Cleansing and glow
“no redness after”

Clogged pores, a dull skin tone, a shiny T-zone within an hour of cleansing, skin that feels dehydrated despite moisturising — this is daily life for most skin exposed to smog, makeup and chronic stress. Classic mechanical cleansing can be too aggressive for sensitive and vascular skin, while strong acid peels require downtime.

Hydrogen facial cleansing solves this conflict: it combines deep pore cleansing with a hydrogen-rich (H₂) water stream, serum infusion and soothing LED light — gentle, yet effective. The epidermis stays intact, so there's no redness and no healing period. At J'adore Instytut, the treatment is performed by an experienced cosmetologist. Below you'll find everything worth knowing before your first visit.

  • Skin with enlarged, clogged pores
  • Oily and combination skin
  • Grey, fatigued skin
  • Dehydrated and dry skin
  • Sensitive and reactive skin
  • Vascular skin
  • Comedonal and mild inflammatory acne
  • Skin after summer / UV exposure

How it works

How it works

Hydrogen facial cleansing is a treatment based on water enriched with hydrogen molecules (H₂). A specialised head directs a pressurised stream of this water onto the skin — the molecules literally flush sebum, makeup residue and environmental pollutants out of the pores, without mechanical squeezing and without breaking the epidermis. It's not aggressive abrasion, but gentle, "wet" cleansing.

The second pillar is molecular hydrogen as an antioxidant. The H₂ molecule is small enough to penetrate the skin's surface layers easily, and it selectively neutralises the most harmful free radicals (including the hydroxyl radical) without disrupting the skin's natural processes. This is what produces the calming, brightening effect, and supports skin fatigued by oxidative stress.

The full protocol at J'adore involves three steps: hydrogen peel → serum infusion → LED light. After cleansing, we introduce a serum tailored to your skin concern (hydrating, soothing or sebum-regulating), and the finishing touch is LED therapy, which completes the effect — it calms, supports regeneration and smooths skin tone. This is a beauty treatment, not a medical one — and we approach it that way.

Three levels of skin in cross-section: the stratum corneum right at the top, the sebaceous gland openings within the epidermis beneath it, and deepest of all the dermis. A hydrogen-rich jet washes away the stratum corneum and flushes out the contents of the pore openings. The treatment works at the surface — it does not go below the epidermis.
  1. Stratum corneumdead skin lifted during the treatment
  2. Sebaceous gland openingwhere the congestion is cleared from
  3. Dermisdeeper than this cleansing reaches

Ideal for

Ideal for

Hydrogen facial cleansing is one of the most versatile cleansing treatments — it works well where classic extraction can be too harsh. It particularly benefits:

  1. Skin with enlarged, clogged poresthe T-zone, nose, chin; clearing sebum plugs visually narrows pores.
  2. Oily and combination skinit regulates sebum production without drying or tightening the skin.
  3. Grey, fatigued skinideal "before an event", ahead of a wedding, gala or photo session; the glow shows immediately.
  4. Dehydrated and dry skinserum infusion delivers hydration where a cream can't reach.
  5. Sensitive and reactive skinthis gentle, "wet" method doesn't irritate or redden the skin.
  6. Vascular skinthe gentle action doesn't put strain on broken capillaries (with active redness, we assess this during consultation).
  7. Comedonal and mild inflammatory acneclearing pores reduces new breakouts (for severe pustular acne → see a dermatologist).
  8. Skin after summer / UV exposureantioxidant support and a refreshed skin tone.

Women's needs and men's needs

What's different

For her

Skin that works harder than you'd think

The most common goal is brightening, hydration and an even skin tone — a "skin glow" before an event, or a regular treatment to keep pores in check. We select the serum to suit the need: hydrating, brightening or soothing. This is classic hydrogen facial cleansing for women.

The areas we support

  1. a glow effect "before an event" — a wedding, photo session, gala, important meeting;
  2. sensitive, vascular skin that can't tolerate aggressive extraction;
  3. dehydration and dullness after winter or after summer;
  4. regular care as a series — keeping pores clear and skin tone even.
For him

Men's skin has different needs — and that's neither a compliment nor a criticism

Men's skin is thicker, oilier and under more strain from daily shaving. The goal: an end to a shiny face, cleansed pores and soothed post-shave irritation — with no downtime and no "just-had-a-treatment" redness. This is hydrogen facial cleansing for men.

The areas we support

  1. oily, shiny skin and sebum overproduction throughout the day;
  2. comedones and clogged pores on the nose, chin and forehead;
  3. irritation and redness after daily shaving;
  4. zero downtime — a meeting an hour after your visit isn't a problem; shaving is possible the same day.

Did you know: "hydrogen" isn't a marketing gimmick — molecular hydrogen H₂ is an antioxidant described in the literature, which selectively disarms the most harmful free radicals while leaving alone the ones your body actually needs. In the skin, this translates into calming and radiance — not depletion.

Safety

What really determines the result

Hydrogen facial cleansing is one of the gentlest treatments in cosmetology — but "gentle" doesn't mean "it doesn't matter where you have it done". Three things determine the result and safety, and they're worth asking about at any salon:

  1. Who performs it

    At J'adore, the treatment is carried out by an experienced cosmetologist, who first assesses your skin type and condition, and only then selects the serum and intensity. The same device in inexperienced hands means wasted potential — or irritation of skin that shouldn't be cleansed that particular day.

  2. What the infusion involves

    After cleansing, we introduce an original, professional-grade serum chosen for your skin concern (hydration, soothing, sebum regulation). This is the point where quality is most often cut — and it's exactly the active ingredients that make the difference.

  3. Whether the device and protocol are properly matched

    The hydrogen stream, the infusion and the LED are a coherent protocol, not three random steps. A good salon will explain what it's doing to your face, and why.

Red flag: suspiciously cheap "hydrogen facial cleansing" · A bargain price can be the first warning sign. Be cautious if: the treatment is performed by someone without cosmetology training; nobody asks about your skin condition, medications or contraindications; a "generic wholesale gel" is used instead of a professional serum; or you hear "miracle" promises like "you'll get rid of acne/broken capillaries in one session". Hydrogen facial cleansing improves skin condition — it doesn't treat medical conditions. You're entitled to ask who's performing the treatment and what serum is going on your face. A good salon will answer without hesitation.

FACIAL COSMETOLOGY

What to expect during your visit

  1. Consultation and makeup removalyour cosmetologist assesses your skin type and condition, establishes your goal (a glow "before an event" or a series), rules out contraindications and thoroughly removes makeup.
  2. Skin preparationa softening product is applied to make the following pore cleansing more effective.
  3. Hydrogen peelthe head moves across your face, directing a hydrogen-rich water stream into the pores. You'll feel a gentle tingling and coolness — this is the relaxing part of the treatment.
  4. Serum infusiona concentrated serum tailored to your concern (hydration, soothing, sebum regulation) is introduced into the cleansed skin.
  5. LED therapy and finishsoothing light completes the effect; a mask and SPF cream finish the treatment. No bandages, no visible marks.

Contraindications

When to postpone the treatment

Hydrogen facial cleansing is one of the safest treatments available — contraindications are few, and most are temporary: in those cases, we simply postpone the treatment until the situation resolves.

We don't perform it
  • Active herpes (cold sores) or an active skin infectionwe postpone until it's healed; since we're working on the face, we don't want to spread the infection.
  • Active acne in an acute inflammatory phase(papules, pustules, cysts) — the inflammation needs to be brought under control first.
  • Fresh wounds, cuts or unhealed scarson the face.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeedinga prior consultation is recommended.
  • Pacemaker, insulin pump or metal implantsin the treatment area — for devices using electrical current or ultrasound, caution and assessment are needed.
  • Uncontrolled diabetes and systemic conditionsa consultation first.
  • Very severe, unexplained skin hypersensitivityindividual assessment.

From the cosmetologist's chair

The most commonly overlooked issue is active herpes — even a small cold sore. Since this is a facial treatment, it's better to postpone by a few days than risk spreading the lesions. The other thing is implants and pacemakers — we always discuss this at consultation, before switching on the device.

This isn't an exhaustive list — we'll discuss your medications, skin conditions and previous treatments individually during your consultation before the treatment.

What to expect

No surprises

Most importantly, the effect is visible immediately — the opposite of treatments that "work over time". Straight after leaving the salon, your skin is cleansed, hydrated and radiant, with no redness. That's why hydrogen facial cleansing is such a popular choice "before an event".

  1. Faza 1.immediatelyglow effect — skin is clean, hydrated and radiant, with no redness
  2. Faza 2.first few hourspores are visually reduced, skin tone is even; it's worth letting your skin "breathe"
  3. Faza 3.a few dayshydration and comfort continue; less shine in the T-zone
  4. Faza 4.after the seriesmore lasting improvement — clearer pores, more even skin tone, better overall skin condition
Some clients ask, "did this actually do anything, if nothing hurts and there's no redness?" That's exactly the advantage of this treatment — it works, but gently. The glow is visible immediately, while regular sessions, not the intensity of a single treatment, are what build real change in pores and skin tone.
From the cosmetologist's chair

What's normal during and immediately after the treatment

  • a sensation of gentle tingling and coolness as the head moves across your skin — this is pleasant, not painful;
  • a slight, temporary flush in very reactive skin — it fades within about ten minutes;
  • a "squeaky-clean" feeling, with skin that's taut but hydrated right after the treatment.

The result of a single treatment is refreshing but not permanent — it's ongoing care, not a "once and done" fix. For pores, dehydration and a dull complexion, real change comes from a series, followed by maintenance visits every few weeks.

Hydrogen facial cleansing and your lifestyle

What you can and can't do, and when

This is a non-invasive treatment with no downtime, so restrictions are minimal — most apply to the first few hours, while your skin is freshly cleansed and pores are receptive. The rule is simple: for a while, don't strain or "overheat" your skin.

  1. Makeup

    best after a few hours

    Light makeup is fine the same day, but it's worth giving your skin a moment to "breathe" after cleansing. Save heavy foundation for the next day.

  2. Sun and SPF

    SPF 50+ mandatory

    No downtime, but freshly cleansed pores absorb UV more easily — apply SPF 50+ every morning. Avoid intense tanning and sunbeds for the first few days.

  3. Sauna and hot baths

    skip on the same day

    High temperatures dilate blood vessels and increase flushing in reactive skin — best to leave the sauna and hammam until the next day.

  4. Swimming pool

    wait ~1 day

    Chlorinated water can irritate freshly cleansed skin — plan your pool visit for the next day.

  5. At-home exfoliation

    skip for ~3–5 days

    Your skin is already cleansed — hold off on at-home peels (gommage, coarse scrubs) and strong acids for a few days, to avoid over-drying the skin.

  6. Retinol

    resume after ~2–3 days

    Pause retinol and other active evening treatments for 2–3 days — combining them right after the treatment can unnecessarily irritate the skin.

From the cosmetologist's chair

For men, I add one thing: shaving is fine the same day — hydrogen facial cleansing doesn't break the skin's surface. Just reach for a gentle gel, and avoid strong alcohol-based aftershaves for the first 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions

  1. QuestionDoes hydrogen facial cleansing hurt?
    AnswerNo. The treatment is completely pain-free — you'll only feel a gentle tingling and pleasant coolness as the head works. Most clients describe it as relaxing.
  2. QuestionWhen will I see results?
    AnswerImmediately. Your skin is cleansed, hydrated and radiant as soon as you leave the salon — which is why it's such a good choice "before an event", ahead of a wedding or photo session. A series builds more lasting improvement in pores and skin tone.
  3. QuestionAre the results permanent?
    AnswerA single treatment gives a refreshed, glowing effect, but it's ongoing care, not a "once and done" fix. For clogged pores, dehydration and a dull complexion, we recommend a series of 4–6 treatments every 1–2 weeks, followed by maintenance visits.
  4. QuestionDoes hydrogen really have an antioxidant effect?
    AnswerYes — molecular hydrogen H₂ is an antioxidant described in the literature that selectively neutralises the most harmful free radicals. In the skin, this translates into calming and radiance. It's support for skin condition, not a treatment for medical conditions.
