Hydrogen cleansing (H₂) for men

Men's skin has different needs — and that's neither a compliment nor a criticism

Men's skin is thicker, oilier and under more strain from daily shaving. The goal: an end to a shiny face, cleansed pores and soothed post-shave irritation — with no downtime and no "just-had-a-treatment" redness. This is hydrogen facial cleansing for men.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Skin with enlarged, clogged pores — the T-zone, nose, chin; clearing sebum plugs visually narrows pores.
  • Oily and combination skin — it regulates sebum production without drying or tightening the skin.
  • Grey, fatigued skin — ideal "before an event", ahead of a wedding, gala or photo session; the glow shows immediately.
  • Dehydrated and dry skin — serum infusion delivers hydration where a cream can't reach.
  • Sensitive and reactive skin — this gentle, "wet" method doesn't irritate or redden the skin.
  • Vascular skin — the gentle action doesn't put strain on broken capillaries (with active redness, we assess this during consultation).
  • Comedonal and mild inflammatory acne — clearing pores reduces new breakouts (for severe pustular acne → see a dermatologist).
  • Skin after summer / UV exposure — antioxidant support and a refreshed skin tone.

The areas we work on

  1. oily, shiny skin and sebum overproduction throughout the day;
  2. comedones and clogged pores on the nose, chin and forehead;
  3. irritation and redness after daily shaving;
  4. zero downtime — a meeting an hour after your visit isn't a problem; shaving is possible the same day.

Men's skin has different needs — and that's neither a compliment nor a criticism

A thicker epidermis, denser sebaceous glands producing 2 to 4 times more sebum than women's skin, and daily shaving that disrupts the skin barrier and opens pores to environmental pollutants. If your skin gets shiny before midday, if the pores on your nose and chin are constantly visible, if your skin stings or reddens after shaving — that's not a hygiene problem. It's physiology, and it can be effectively regulated.
Hydrogen facial cleansing for men isn't a "beauty treatment" in the everyday sense of the term. It's an effective procedure for sebum regulation, deep pore cleansing and antioxidant protection — parameters are personalised to skin thickness, the degree of oiliness and post-shaving condition.

Shaving, sweat, the city — three things that clog pores

Every shave with a razor causes micro-trauma to the epidermis. Skin regenerates quickly, but during that time — especially in the first hours after shaving — pores are open and absorb everything: shaving product residue, air pollutants, bacteria. Combined with sebum overproduction, this is a direct path to chronic comedones, shiny zones on the forehead and chin, and, on more reactive skin, inflammation.
Active H⁻ ions generated by the device chemically bind pollutants inside the pores, which are then removed with suction — no squeezing, no mechanical irritation of the tissue. The effect is comparable to deep manual cleansing, but without any discomfort and without a visible trace. After 30–45 minutes, you're back at your meeting, your workout, or the office.

The gym and skincare

Intense strength training raises cortisol and androgen levels — hormones that directly stimulate sebaceous glands to increase sebum production. People who train regularly tend to have skin that gets oily faster than those with a sedentary lifestyle. Sweat during training isn't a problem in itself, but sweat mixed with sebum and pollutants clogging the pores is.
The best routine: hydrogen facial cleansing regularly every 2–4 weeks, as a system reset. Between treatments: a gentle foam cleanse in the morning (no exfoliating beads), SPF 30+ in the morning, and a light hydrating gel after training. It doesn't require more — it requires consistency.

A visible result without a visible trace

After the treatment, skin looks smooth, matte (without excess sebum), and skin tone is even. No redness, no swelling, no signs of any work done on the face. You can shave the same day — the treatment doesn't break the skin's surface. The effect is described as well-rested and fresh — not "just had a treatment".
If your goal is improved skin condition over months: a series of 4–6 treatments every 2 weeks normalises sebaceous gland activity, reduces the visibility of pores and smooths minor texture irregularities. The results build gradually and last — not a one-off effect before an important day.

Frequently asked questions

Can I shave before the treatment and the same day after it?
Yes, shaving is possible both before and after the treatment on the same day. Hydrogen facial cleansing doesn't break the skin's surface or increase its reactivity — H⁻ ions work inside the pores, not on the stratum corneum. If your skin is heavily irritated after shaving, it's best to come the day after shaving — the treatment will then be especially soothing for your skin.
Will anyone notice I've had a treatment?
No — and that's one of the reasons men keep coming back to us. After leaving the salon, your skin looks fresh but with no signs of a treatment at all: no redness, no swelling, no visible changes that would need explaining. You can go straight to a meeting, a workout, or an evening out without any recovery time.
Will hydrogen facial cleansing help with oily skin and shine throughout the day?
This is one of the main reasons men choose this treatment. Regular hydrogen facial cleansing normalises sebaceous gland activity — not by drying them out (which leads to a rebound effect), but through deep cleansing and regulated secretion. After a series of 4–6 treatments, skin gets oily much more slowly, pores are less visible, and the skin's surface stays naturally matte.
Can I train the same day after the treatment?
Yes, though we recommend at least a 4-hour break between the treatment and intense physical exercise. Immediately after the treatment, pores are cleansed and open — sweat and moisture from training won't cause harm, but it's worth giving the skin a moment to stabilise. Evening training after a morning treatment is entirely fine.
How does hydrogen facial cleansing differ from HydraFacial?
Both treatments combine cleansing with the infusion of active ingredients, but the cleansing mechanism differs. HydraFacial uses acid peels (salicylic, glycolic) and suction — effective, but stronger, with the possibility of brief redness. Hydrogen facial cleansing relies on H⁻ ions as the cleansing agent — gentler, more soothing, ideal for reactive skin or skin under constant shaving-related stress. The choice between them depends on your skin type — we'll discuss this at consultation.
