Pumpkin (therapeutic) for women

Your skin, your concerns — what we hear most often from women

For women, this is most often a treatment "for glow and smoothness" — brightening grey skin, refining pores and preparing skin that doesn't tolerate stronger peels well. This is the classic pumpkin peel for women: gentle, well tolerated by sensitive and vascular skin, and a great first step or pre-event treatment.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Grey, tired skin — lacking radiance, sallow or dull despite regular skincare.
  • Rough, uneven skin — when the epidermis is keratinised and creams struggle to absorb.
  • Visible, enlarged pores — especially across the T-zone (nose, forehead, chin).
  • Sensitive, reactive skin — skin that reacts badly to acids, stinging and turning red.
  • First peel ever — a safe starting point if you're wary of exfoliation.
  • Dry, dehydrated skin — peptides nourish, and the treatment doesn't add to the dryness.
  • Skin preparation — ahead of a skincare series, or for a pre-event glow.
  • Oily skin with minor imperfections — unclogs pores without aggression.

The areas we work on

  1. brightening grey, tired skin and evening out skin tone;
  2. smoothing roughness and improving the look of pores;
  3. a safe first peel for sensitive, vascular skin;
  4. skincare "for glow" before a wedding, a photoshoot or a celebration.

Your skin, your concerns — what we hear most often from women

Sensitive, vascular skin reacts to everything — which is exactly why a peel can seem risky. The most common concern we hear at consultation is: will my skin tolerate this? The good news: the pumpkin peel (Pumpkin) is designed specifically for skin that's wary of acids. Enzymes instead of acids, peptides instead of irritation.
The second common scenario is preparing your skin for a specific moment — a wedding, a photoshoot, a birthday, a party. This peel gives radiance immediately after the treatment and doesn't cause flaky peeling, so it works well before an event — with a few days' buffer so your skin can settle.

Women's skin and the pumpkin peel — what's different

Women's skin is, on average, thinner and more reactive than men's skin — particularly around the cheeks and forehead. It's also more prone to hormonal fluctuations, which affect skin tone, hydration and vascular sensitivity. That's why an enzymatic peel — one that exfoliates without acids while nourishing with peptides — suits the female skin profile almost perfectly.
One more thing worth knowing: skin under makeup (CC cream, foundation, concealer) loses its radiance far faster than bare skin — layers of product and dead epidermal cells create a dull, grey surface. Regular enzymatic exfoliation means makeup sits better, absorbs more easily, and lasts longer.

When it's especially worth it — for women

  • Sensitive, vascular skin — couperose, broken capillaries, reactivity to fragrances and acids; enzymatic exfoliation doesn't trigger redness the way an acid peel can.
  • Grey, sallow skin under makeup — foundation shades look far worse on skin without radiance; the peel restores your skin's receptiveness to cosmetics.
  • First peel ever — if you've avoided exfoliation until now for fear of a reaction, the pumpkin peel is the gentlest place to start.
  • Hormonally variable skin — skin can turn drier or oilier at different points in your cycle; the enzymatic peel is gentle enough to use as a series without risking over-drying.
  • Skin preparation before an important event — radiance without flaky peeling; plan it a few days ahead.

Home care after the treatment — what matters most for women

SPF 50+ after a peel is essential regardless of gender — but for women who wear foundations with SPF 15–20 daily, it's worth stressing: that's not enough. For at least a few weeks after the series, use a dedicated SPF 50+ as a base layer under makeup, not instead of it. Skin that's been exfoliated is more prone to sun-related hyperpigmentation — and hyperpigmentation can linger for years.
Retinol creams and strong home acids (glycolic, salicylic) should be set aside for a few days after the treatment. Your cosmetologist will tell you exactly when you can return to them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have a pumpkin peel while pregnant or breastfeeding?
The pumpkin peel is one of the gentler beauty treatments, but during pregnancy and breastfeeding we discuss every treatment individually at consultation. Your cosmetologist will take into account your stage of pregnancy, skin reactivity and the product's composition — this isn't an automatic no, but the decision needs a conversation before your visit.
I have vascular skin and couperose — will an enzymatic peel make my capillaries worse?
Quite the opposite — an enzymatic peel is actually recommended for vascular skin as a safer alternative to acids. Enzymes don't interfere with living skin, so they don't trigger capillaries or stinging. At consultation, your cosmetologist will assess the degree of vascularity and decide on any adjustments to the treatment.
I have sun-related hyperpigmentation — will this peel remove it?
The pumpkin peel brightens skin tone and evens out greyness, but it isn't the right tool for stubborn, deep-set hyperpigmentation or melasma. Deeper depigmentation needs stronger acid peels or protocols (for example, Cosmelan, Dermamelan). At consultation, your cosmetologist will assess which direction suits you.
Can I have this peel regularly, and how often?
Yes — that's exactly where its strength lies. A series of 4–6 sessions every 1–2 weeks gives a far better result than a single visit. The enzymatic peel is gentle enough that skin tolerates this frequency well, with no risk of over-drying or irritation.
I have an important party in 5 days — can I have a peel?
Yes, but with a few caveats: never try a new treatment the day before an event. Plan it at least 3–5 days ahead. The pumpkin peel usually doesn't cause visible peeling, but your skin needs time to settle and fully reveal the glow effect. If this is your first time with this peel, book a consultation beforehand.
