SUCSES — succinic acid for women

When skin loses its radiance, not its shape

The most common reason women reach for the amber peel for women is grey, tired, dehydrated skin — after winter, after giving birth, during a busy period, or after a course of antibiotics. Skin loses its radiance and looks "switched off", even without one specific flaw. Amber is ideal here: it revitalises, oxygenates and brightens, while remaining gentle enough for sensitive and reactive skin.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Grey, tired, "lifeless" skin — dull, switched off, lacking natural radiance.
  • Dehydrated skin — tight, rough, with a feeling of tautness, where hydration and freshness are the priority.
  • Skin after winter, stress or sleepless nights — when you need a "reset" and a boost of freshness.
  • Skin exposed to free radicals — smog, cigarettes, UV exposure — where antioxidant action matters most.
  • Uneven, "tired" skin tone and fine pigmentation — where the focus is on brightening and evening out the tone.
  • Combination and oily skin prone to dullness — refreshing and gently tidying up the complexion.
  • A "pre-event peel" — when you want radiance and freshness without the risk of heavy flaking.

When skin loses its radiance, not its shape

A woman's skin goes through different phases: months of constant rushing, lack of sleep after having a baby, stress, antibiotics, winter. The result isn't one specific wrinkle or mark — it's general greyness, and a sense that the face has lost its spark. The SUCSES peel is designed exactly for this state. It revitalises and oxygenates rather than exfoliating aggressively, and it does so gently enough to work well even on sensitive, reactive skin, or skin that's recently had inflammation.

Dehydration isn't the same as dryness — and amber understands that

Many women mistake dehydrated skin for dry skin. Dehydration can affect every phototype and every skin type — even combination and oily skin. It manifests as dullness, a feeling of tightness, a lack of elasticity and a tired complexion. Succinic acid (linia Mediderma) moisturises the skin and supports its cellular respiration — which is why after the treatment the complexion not only looks refreshed, but is genuinely better moisturised, not merely powdered over.

A pre-event peel — when it works well

Amber is often chosen as a pre-event peel — before a wedding, a photoshoot, a celebration. Its strength is giving radiance without the risk of heavy, visible flaking. A few things worth knowing:
  • Schedule the last session in the series a few days in advance — skin needs a little time to show its full glow.
  • For sensitive skin, your cosmetologist decides on the number of layers and exposure time — never full strength in one go.
  • The cumulative effect of a series is noticeably better than a single treatment. If you want results, start the series early — not a week before the date.

A series — not the same as a course of treatment

A series of 4–6 sessions every 1–2 weeks isn't a marketing tactic. It's biological logic: revitalising tired skin doesn't happen after one session, because the amber peel works by gradually stimulating cells to function, not by burning off the epidermis in one go. Between visits, home care (a succinic acid product, e.g. Venome Succinate AMBER) and SPF 50+ reinforce and lock in the results.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a good peel if I have sensitive, reactivity-prone skin?
Yes — it is in fact one of the main advantages of the amber one. Succinic acid has a revitalising and moisturising effect, not an irritating one. The cosmetologist adjusts the strength and number of layers to your skin's reaction — with sensitive skin they start more gently, observe and adapt. Many women with reactive skin tolerate this peel well precisely because it targets nourishment, not exfoliation. Will I look as though I've had something done after the treatment? I have an important meeting tomorrow. Usually not. Temporary mild redness is possible, which subsides within a few hours. Peeling is often very subtle or invisible — with the amber one, don't expect dramatic skin shedding. With a superficial peel, make-up can most often be applied the very next day — the cosmetologist will confirm this after the treatment.
I have pigmentation issues after pregnancy — will amber help?
It depends on the type of pigmentation. Amber brightens and evens out the complexion, and works as an antioxidant — for mild, superficial pigmentation, it may bring improvement. For melasma or deeper pigment, amber can be part of a plan, but usually isn't enough on its own — your cosmetologist will suggest a complete protocol or a combination of treatments. Be sure to mention breastfeeding or pregnancy during your consultation, if relevant.
Can I combine this peel with the mesotherapy I already do?
Yes — amber and needle mesotherapy are one of the favourite duos for grey, dehydrated skin: the peel refreshes and prepares the epidermis, while mesotherapy hydrates and nourishes deep down. The order and intervals are decided by the cosmetologist — do not combine both treatments on the same day without first agreeing on a plan.
Can I do a peel series if I use acids in my home care every day?
During a series, you pause strong AHA/BHA acids and retinol in your home care until your cosmetologist confirms it's fine to reintroduce them. Applying them straight after a peel is a quick route to irritating already dehydrated skin. Instead, you focus on hydration — hyaluronic acid, ceramides, panthenol — and daily SPF 50+.
