SUCSES — succinic acid for men

Men's skin — a different starting point, the same goal: freshness

For men, the amber peel for men most often targets oily, dull skin, with acne marks, pigmentation and post-shave irritation. Men rarely have an SPF habit, so sun-induced pigmentation and general skin fatigue tend to build up. Amber refreshes, oxygenates and evens out tone, and works as an antioxidant — all discreetly, with zero downtime, which matters for men's skin and their reluctance to show a visible "after" effect.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Grey, tired, "lifeless" skin — dull, switched off, lacking natural radiance.
  • Dehydrated skin — tight, rough, with a feeling of tautness, where hydration and freshness are the priority.
  • Skin after winter, stress or sleepless nights — when you need a "reset" and a boost of freshness.
  • Skin exposed to free radicals — smog, cigarettes, UV exposure — where antioxidant action matters most.
  • Uneven, "tired" skin tone and fine pigmentation — where the focus is on brightening and evening out the tone.
  • Combination and oily skin prone to dullness — refreshing and gently tidying up the complexion.
  • A "pre-event peel" — when you want radiance and freshness without the risk of heavy flaking.

The areas we work on

  1. Oily, dull, "grey" skin — the result of fatigue and lack of regeneration
  2. Acne scars and post-acne pigmentation — flat marks, uneven tone
  3. Post-shave irritation and dark spots (including from ingrown hairs)
  4. Sun-induced pigmentation in those without a sun protection habit

Men's skin — a different starting point, the same goal: freshness

Men's skin is usually thicker and oilier than women's — meaning it dehydrates more slowly, but also turns dull and grey faster without proper regeneration. Add to that post-shave irritation, ingrown hairs, acne marks and no habit of using SPF — which is why sun-induced pigmentation and a tired complexion tend to be more pronounced in men who skip daily protection.
The SUCSES peel (succinic acid, from the Mediderma line) targets exactly these issues: it refreshes and oxygenates dull skin, evens out uneven tone, and works as an antioxidant against the effects of smog and UV — all with zero downtime, since it's a gentle, superficial peel.

What amber does in practice for typical male skin

  • Oily, dull skin — revitalises and oxygenates, restoring natural radiance without drying it out or making it greasier.
  • Post-acne marks and pigmentation — evens out tone and reduces the visibility of flat marks left by inflamed lesions.
  • Post-shave irritation and ingrown hairs — as a superficial peel, amber may support the recovery of irritated skin, but whether to include it in your plan is a decision for your cosmetologist.
  • No SPF habit and sun-induced pigmentation — the antioxidant action of succinic acid and its brightening effect work best alongside daily SPF 50+. That's the condition for results to last.

A discreet process — back to work straight away

Amber is a superficial peel. For most skin types, some temporary redness for a few hours is possible, along with mild, barely noticeable flaking over the following days. There's no dramatic peeling — and that's not a downside, it's the point: with typical male skin and no appetite for a visible "after" effect, that's exactly what's needed.
You usually return to work and normal activities straight away. The only restrictions: avoiding saunas and intense exercise for 1–2 days, and — crucially — daily SPF 50+ from the day of the treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Will people be able to tell I've had something done?
Usually not. Amber is a superficial peel — flaking is mild, often barely noticeable, and any redness fades within a few hours. The result is a fresher, more rested-looking face — something people read as general wellbeing, not as a visible treatment.
How many sessions do I need to see a difference?
Brighter, fresher-looking skin can be visible after just one session. Real revitalisation of dull, grey, dehydrated skin builds up over a series — usually 4–6 sessions every 1–2 weeks. Results last and improve further with home care and consistent SPF 50+.
I have oily skin with blackheads — is amber the right peel for me?
If your skin is mainly oily and congested with blackheads, your cosmetologist may suggest a stronger peel — for example, salicylic — which cleanses pores more deeply. Amber is more revitalising, so it works well on oily skin where dullness and lack of radiance are the main issue. Your cosmetologist will decide during your consultation which product suits your concern — or suggest a combination.
Do I need SPF if I'm not spending time in the sun?
Yes — this is a firm requirement with any peel. After the treatment, skin is more sensitive to UV, meaning a higher risk of pigmentation even from a short walk from the car to the office. Daily SPF 50+ every morning for at least a few weeks isn't optional — it's a condition, without which results will reverse. If you've never used SPF before, this is a good moment to make it a permanent habit.
