The earlier this appears, the more timing matters — advanced androgenic hair loss with follicle loss isn't an indication for carboxytherapy. But the early stage, when follicles are still working and the scalp is tight and poorly supplied with blood, is when oxygenation genuinely makes sense. Scalp carboxytherapy in men won't stop the androgenic process itself — but it can improve the environment for follicles that are still alive, and as part of a broader plan support their condition.

Micro-injections of medical CO₂ trigger a simple physiological mechanism: the body interprets the local excess of carbon dioxide as a sign of tissue oxygen deprivation and directs increased blood flow there. What a visit looks like — brief and to the point

A short visit, no special preparation, no time off afterwards. The trichologist assesses the scalp (often starting with trichoscopy), parts the hair into sections and delivers CO₂ with a very fine needle across a grid of points. A characteristic feeling of pressure or warmth under the scalp is typical — this is the gas being absorbed, and it passes quickly. Small puncture marks hide under the hair. After the visit: take it easy for the day, avoiding intense training and the sauna for the first 24 hours.

Does it make sense if my androgenic hair loss is genetic?
Carboxytherapy won't stop the androgenic process — that's the honest answer. But with early thinning, when follicles are still working, improving their environment (blood flow, oxygenation) can support their condition. It works best as part of a broader plan, where the underlying cause (DHT) is addressed in parallel with a dermatologist or trichologist. After diagnosis, we'll tell you plainly whether and how this treatment makes sense for you.
Does it hurt — I have a fairly low pain threshold on my head?
These are micro-injections with a very fine needle. The most noticeable sensation is pressure under the scalp as the gas is absorbed — it's not the pain of a cut nor a typical injection. Most men rate it as well tolerated. The scalp can be sensitive, so sensation varies, but it passes quickly after each point.
Can I go to the gym the same day?
It's best to skip intense training for the first 24 hours after the treatment. Heavy sweating on the scalp with fresh punctures can lead to irritation. Light movement is fine — the gym and cardio, a day later.
How many sessions do I need, and when do we assess results?
Results build up over a series — consistency matters more than the intensity of any one visit. Microcirculation improves fairly quickly, but changes in hair quality and density are assessed after the full series, because hair grows slowly and follows its own cycle. We set the plan and assessment points during consultation with trichoscopy — it gives a real picture of what's happening with the follicles.
Is this the same carboxytherapy used on the body?
It's the same method — micro-injections of medical CO₂ — but applied to the scalp with a trichological goal. On the body and face it works on firmness, cellulite and scars; on the scalp it focuses solely on blood flow and follicle oxygenation. The protocol (depth, grid of points, area) is adapted to the scalp, not copied from a body treatment.
