HA fillers — wrinkles and folds for men

Men rarely say "I want filler" — they say "I look tired"

Male skin is thicker, and the focus is different — it's about strengthening structure: a more defined, angular jawline, a stronger chin, "de-tiring" the face without softening it. These are the so-called fillers for men, usually using denser products (stronger support is needed).

When it's worth it — indications

  • Nasolabial folds and so-called marionette lines — running down from the corners of your mouth.
  • Tear troughs and dark circles — giving a tired look even after a good night's sleep.
  • Loss of cheek volume — and a blurred, "sagging" facial contour.
  • An indistinct jawline or a receded, poorly defined chin.
  • Facial asymmetry — requiring subtle correction.
  • Thin, dry lips — when you want hydration, contour or subtle volume.

The areas we work on

  1. a defined, angular jawline;
  2. a stronger, more defined chin;
  3. rebuilding cheek support for a "hollow", tired-looking face;
  4. correcting asymmetry — without a "puffy" effect.

Men rarely say "I want filler" — they say "I look tired"

Few men come in asking for "aesthetic medicine". They come because they've seen, in a work photo or on a video call, a face that looks more tired than they feel — hollow temples, tired shadows under the eyes, a blurred lower face. Filler for men isn't about "forcing yourself to look younger". It's about making your face match the energy and condition you're actually in.
Let's clear up a false assumption straight away: a man's goal doesn't have to be only subtle. For some, it's about discreetly removing tiredness that no one would put into words. For others — a clearly noticeable, deliberate rejuvenation and a strong change to facial proportions. Both are entirely valid; it's your decision, not a preset "male limit". The doctor tailors the plan and the amount of product to your goal and your anatomy — exactly as much as that goal requires.

A different technique from women's — because it's different anatomy

This isn't the same treatment as for women, just applied "more strongly". The difference starts with the direction of the work. In women, we recreate soft curves and the "triangle of youth" in the centre of the face; in men, we work on angles and straight lines — because these read as masculinity. Applying the female pattern to a male face would feminise it, and vice versa. These are two different languages, not two versions of the same treatment.
The "material" itself differs too. Male skin is thicker, better vascularised and has more supporting tissue — which is why achieving a clear, masculine effect usually calls for denser products with greater lifting strength and larger amounts than for women. It's not about "spending more" — it's physiology: a soft, flexible gel simply won't hold up a male jawline. This isn't about "a lot" — it's about the right product chosen precisely for the job: one that gives a straight, strong edge rather than a soft bulge.
It's also worth knowing that male ageing follows its own script: the temples and eye area often hollow earlier and more noticeably than in women, and with a receding hairline, rebuilding the temples can restore facial proportions more than almost any other treatment. This is a detail men rarely name, but it's most often what causes the impression of "gauntness" and fatigue.

"Will it show" — and why this is a different question for men

Men fear two things at once: that their face will "soften" (feminise), and that someone will notice they've "had something done". This is a different fear from women's — the topic still tends to be taboo among men, and the fact of a visit to aesthetic medicine stays private. A well-executed treatment addresses both fears at once. Strengthening the angles of the jaw and chin works against feminisation — it adds definition and character to the face. And because the work targets structure, not "pumping up", the effect reads as a better version of you, not a treatment. People around you see someone who looks rested and well cared for — without knowing where the change came from.

Filler and your week — training, facial hair, business

These are the questions that come up most often for men and that don't appear in general descriptions:
  • Gym and contact sports. It's worth skipping intense exercise for about a day (faster circulation increases swelling and bruising), and if your jaw or chin has just been contoured, avoid sports with a risk of facial impact — boxing, martial arts, basketball — for a few days.
  • Facial hair and shaving. Filler is injected under the skin, so it doesn't interfere with a beard or facial hair — if anything, a stronger jawline often better frames well-styled facial hair. It's best to leave shaving the treated area itself for a day, to avoid irritating fresh injection points.
  • Work and visibility. More often than women, men can't afford to "disappear" for a few days — meetings, video calls, clients. The lower face and temples settle quickly, but if you have an important presentation coming up, give yourself a few days' margin to go into it with full comfort.

Frequently asked questions

I train regularly and have a low body fat percentage — will the effect on my jawline last?
Yes, but it's worth knowing that very active, lean individuals sometimes metabolise the product a little faster — a fast metabolism "uses it up" more efficiently. In practice, this means a check-up and possible top-up might come a bit sooner than average, perhaps after a dozen or so months. Tell your doctor about your lifestyle at consultation — it influences the choice of product and amount from the start.
I have a thick beard / facial hair — can the doctor even "see" the jawline?
Yes. The doctor assesses bone structure and the tissue beneath the skin by touch as well as by eye — facial hair doesn't obscure this. What's more, a more defined jawline usually pairs well with a styled beard, emphasising its shape. If you keep a particular style of facial hair, mention it — the contouring line can be matched to how you shave.
I want a noticeable change, not a "barely visible tweak" — can that be done safely?
It can, as long as it's done by a doctor, in stages, with an original, reversible product. Stronger jaw or chin contouring is often spread across more than one visit — the result is built up gradually, checking proportions along the way. This is safer and gives a better result than "everything at once". Your goal can be bold — what matters is that the path there is controlled.
I'm balding / my hairline is receding — does filler change anything here?
Indirectly, and more than you'd think. As the hairline recedes, the face optically "lengthens" upward, and hollow temples deepen the impression of gauntness and fatigue. Rebuilding support in the temples and strengthening the lower face restores proportions and shifts the visual centre of gravity — the face looks full and balanced again, regardless of hair. This is one of the most underrated corrections for men.
I combine this with weight training and supplements — does anything interfere?
Filler itself doesn't interfere with training or typical supplementation. The concern is more about blood-thinning agents — some supplements (high-dose omega-3, vitamin E, some "fat burners" and herbal preparations) and painkillers can increase the risk of bruising. Mention them at consultation; the doctor will advise what and for how long to pause before the treatment.
