Needle scalp mesotherapy for women

Your hair is telling you something important

In women, diffuse thinning and telogen hair loss are most common — after childbirth, stress, hormonal changes or dieting. Hair sheds evenly, density falls and the parting widens, but the hairline usually remains unchanged. Needle mesotherapy of the scalp in women works well here as nutritional support. The follicles are often healthy and simply need nourishing.

When it's worth it — indications

Thinning and loss of density — when hair becomes finer and the parting or crown begins to show through.
Excessive hair loss — telogen effluvium (after childbirth, infection, stress or a restrictive diet), and as support for androgenetic hair loss.
Weakened, “tired” hair — brittle, lacking volume and slow-growing.
Prevention — when thinning runs in your family and you want to respond early, before changes become clear.
Support after other trichology treatments — as part of a broader course led by a trichologist.

The areas we work on

thinning and volume loss across the whole scalp;
hair loss after pregnancy, after stopping contraception or during perimenopause;
weakening after stress, a restrictive diet or infection;
prevention and a “boost” for your hair before a season or important event.

Your hair is telling you something important

More hair on your brush after every wash. A more visible scalp along your parting. A thinner ponytail that used to be full. Women lose hair for many different reasons — hormones after pregnancy and breastfeeding, sudden stress, a restrictive diet, an underactive thyroid, or borderline iron levels. Each cause leaves a different mark on the hair follicle and requires a different cocktail composition. That is why, before we begin the series, we take a detailed history and — if needed — perform trichoscopy, so we know exactly what we are dealing with.

What a female hair follicle needs most

The female pattern of thinning differs from the male pattern. In women, hair thins evenly across the scalp, especially at the crown and along the parting. It rarely recedes at the temples. This is female-pattern androgenetic hair loss. However, we most often see telogen effluvium: a mass shift of follicles into the resting phase after metabolic or hormonal shock. In both cases, we deliver the mesotherapy cocktail precisely where it is needed — to the dermal papilla — with parameters selected for your anatomy and the current hair growth phase.

The cocktail composition for women includes:

Biotin and panthenol — essential for keratin synthesis; biotin deficiency is one of the first signs of hair loss after pregnancy
Biomimetic peptides (Capixyl) — locally block 5-alpha-reductase without affecting hormonal balance
Zinc and selenium — regulate keratinisation and sebum production; particularly important for an oily scalp
Hyaluronic acid and ginkgo biloba extract — improve scalp microcirculation and hydration, without which the hair bulb cannot function properly

Hair loss after pregnancy and breastfeeding — a separate story

Around 2–4 months after childbirth, and sometimes later if you are breastfeeding, many women suddenly lose significantly more hair than before. This is physiological. High oestrogen levels during pregnancy kept follicles in the growth phase, and now the entire delayed cycle shifts into the resting phase at once. It may sound alarming, but in most cases it is reversible.

We plan mesotherapy after pregnancy once you have finished breastfeeding — then we can use the full cocktail composition and safely introduce a series. If you are breastfeeding, we select an interim strategy during consultation: supplementation, care and baseline trichoscopy. This allows you to understand the condition of your follicles and when it is best to begin.

Frequently asked questions

Can I continue colouring my hair after mesotherapy?

Yes — colouring is not a contraindication to the series. The only rule is a 48-hour break. We do not perform the treatment directly after fresh colouring, as the scalp is then irritated by chemicals. We also do not colour hair within 48 hours after a mesotherapy session. Other than that, you can keep your colouring schedule unchanged.

I use retinol and acids in my facial skincare — does this affect the treatment?

Retinol and acids used on the face do not affect scalp mesotherapy — these are entirely separate areas. If you use trichology products with salicylic acid or piroctone on your scalp, tell us during consultation. We sometimes modify the cocktail composition to avoid excessive stimulation. I am worried the result will look unnatural — hair will start growing everywhere. Scalp mesotherapy works only where we apply the preparation — on the scalp, in areas of thinning. It does not change the distribution of hair follicles on your body or face. The result is denser, stronger hair where it had previously been thinning. Hair does not appear in new areas.

Can I combine mesotherapy with other hair treatments I already have?

Mesotherapy works well with PRP from plasma and exosome therapy — these methods reinforce each other’s results. If you use trichology ampoules at home or apply minoxidil, tell us during consultation. We will adjust the protocol so the methods complement each other rather than overlap.

When will my hairdresser see the difference, not just me?

You usually notice the first reduction in shedding — less hair on your brush and in the shower — after 3–4 sessions. Visible new growth and a clear improvement in density appear 3 months after the series is completed, when the new growth cycle reaches the anagen phase. This is when your hairdresser may ask what you have changed in your haircare.
