Scalp cleansing / peel for men

Oily scalp, dandruff, itching — it isn't about washing more often

For men, scalp exfoliation is primarily about an oily scalp, oily dandruff and comfort — sweat under a cap, frequent washing, itching after training. Under short hair, a clogged, oily scalp is more visible and more bothersome. To be honest: exfoliation resets the scalp and improves comfort, and can also be a preparatory step for a treatment programme where thinning is a concern — but on its own, it isn't a treatment "for hair regrowth."

When it's worth it — indications

  • Oily scalp — when hair turns greasy the day after washing and loses volume at the roots.
  • Dandruff and excess sebum — white or oily dandruff, flakes, a tight, "clogged" scalp feeling.
  • Itching and discomfort — a scalp that reacts with itching, tightness or irritation (without active inflammation).
  • Detox and "reset" before a treatment programme — as step 1 before a series of nourishing treatments, to cleanse and prepare the scalp.
  • Poor absorption of hair care products — when serums, ampoules and lotions "sit on the hair" rather than working, because the scalp is clogged.
  • After intensive styling — layered products, dry shampoo, hairspray building up at the roots.

The areas we work on

  1. oily scalp, oily dandruff, itching after exertion and under headwear;
  2. a "clogged," tight scalp despite frequent washing;
  3. preparing the foundation for a treatment programme in early thinning;
  4. zero downtime — short visit, straight back to your day.

Oily scalp, dandruff, itching — it isn't about washing more often

Short hair doesn't "hide" scalp problems — they're far more visible and noticeable than with long hair. An oily scalp after training, white or yellowish dandruff on a jacket collar, itching under a cap — this is daily life for many men who wash their hair every day and still see no improvement. The cause is usually a clogged scalp, not the wrong shampoo.
Scalp exfoliation is a trichology treatment that cleanses and resets the scalp from the ground up: it removes dead skin cells, excess sebum and flakes, unblocks follicle openings and regulates sebaceous gland activity. This is a needle-free treatment with zero downtime — you return to your day immediately. To be honest: exfoliation improves scalp comfort and condition, but on its own it isn't a treatment for hair regrowth — if that's your goal, your trichologist will point you to the next steps.

What you gain — specifically

Under short hair, a clogged, oily scalp is more visible and more bothersome. Sweat from training, constantly wearing a cap, and frequent washing with harsh shampoos all disrupt the scalp's sebum balance and lead to a vicious cycle: oiliness → more frequent washing → irritation → even more sebum. Scalp exfoliation breaks this cycle:
  • it removes built-up dead skin cells and excess sebum that no shampoo can wash away;
  • it reduces dandruff and itching — the scalp stops feeling tight and uncomfortable;
  • recovery time is minimal: a short visit, no visible marks, no "just had a treatment" look;
  • it prepares the scalp for further treatment, if your trichologist determines it's needed.

A treatment without unnecessary ritual

This isn't a complicated procedure. A trichologist or experienced cosmetologist assesses your scalp, selects the type of exfoliation (enzymatic, acid-based or mechanical — depending on skin condition and severity), applies the product to the scalp, and after a few minutes rinses it thoroughly along with the exfoliated skin and sebum. A soothing lotion or serum finishes the treatment, followed by drying and home-care advice. Zero downtime.

When a series is worth considering

A single visit gives noticeable relief and cleansing. For recurring excess oil or oily dandruff, a series at intervals works better — your trichologist will assess how often to repeat, and whether exfoliation should be the first step before nourishing treatments. Between visits, a well-chosen normalising shampoo does the work — without it, the effect fades back to the starting point faster.

Frequently asked questions

Will scalp exfoliation help with dandruff I've had for years?
Very likely — for excess oil or dandruff linked to a clogged scalp, exfoliation clearly reduces the problem and improves comfort. It's worth distinguishing, though: mild dandruff and oiliness are exactly what this treatment addresses; if the scalp is inflamed, weeping or has thick adhered flakes, a dermatologist consultation comes first, with exfoliation following once the skin has calmed down.
Can I go to the gym on the same day as the treatment?
It's better to skip intense exercise on the day of the treatment — sweat on a freshly exfoliated scalp can irritate it. You can return to daily activities (work, going out, driving) immediately; plan your workout for the next day.
Will scalp exfoliation make my hair grow back or grow thicker?
No — that isn't its function. Exfoliation cleanses and regulates the scalp and unblocks follicle openings, which creates better conditions for hair and improves the effectiveness of subsequent treatments. If density or hair loss is your concern, your trichologist will identify the right treatments after assessing your scalp (such as mesotherapy) — exfoliation is often the first, preparatory step on that path.
I have very short hair or a shaved head — is exfoliation for me?
Yes, and it often works even more precisely — access to the scalp is immediate, with no need to part hair into sections. Excess oil, dandruff and itching with short hairstyles are, in fact, classic indications.
How often should I do scalp exfoliation?
It depends on the severity of the problem. For pronounced excess oil and dandruff, your trichologist will suggest a series at sensible intervals; after completing it, preventative repeats every few months are enough. The exact frequency is set after a scalp assessment.
