Scalp cleansing / peel for women

When hair turns oily fast — and it isn't about your shampoo

For women, scalp exfoliation most often solves the problem of hair that turns oily quickly, dandruff and loss of volume at the roots. Thick, long hair can "hide" a clogged, oily scalp — exfoliation lets it breathe again, and your style stays fresh and light for longer. It's often also a great opening step for a nourishing treatment programme when thinning is a concern.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Oily scalp — when hair turns greasy the day after washing and loses volume at the roots.
  • Dandruff and excess sebum — white or oily dandruff, flakes, a tight, "clogged" scalp feeling.
  • Itching and discomfort — a scalp that reacts with itching, tightness or irritation (without active inflammation).
  • Detox and "reset" before a treatment programme — as step 1 before a series of nourishing treatments, to cleanse and prepare the scalp.
  • Poor absorption of hair care products — when serums, ampoules and lotions "sit on the hair" rather than working, because the scalp is clogged.
  • After intensive styling — layered products, dry shampoo, hairspray building up at the roots.

The areas we work on

  1. fast oiliness at the roots and lack of volume;
  2. dandruff, itching, a "clogged" scalp feeling;
  3. layered products and dry shampoo building up at the roots;
  4. preparing the scalp before a series of mesotherapy or a strengthening programme.

When hair turns oily fast — and it isn't about your shampoo

You know the feeling: you washed your hair in the morning, and by evening the roots already look like it's been days. You reach for dry shampoo, dust powder onto your hair — and repeat. In most such cases, the problem isn't the shampoo. It's the scalp: dead skin cells and excess sebum clog the follicle openings, and no shampoo can perform deep cleansing from the outside.
Scalp exfoliation lets your scalp breathe again: it removes build-up, unblocks follicle openings and regulates sebaceous gland activity. The result is simple — hair stays fresh at the roots for longer, your style keeps its volume, and your scalp stops itching or feeling "tight."

What you gain — specifically

Long, thick hair creates its own microclimate at the scalp: warmth, limited airflow, layered products. Dry shampoo, hairspray and conditioner applied at the roots all settle and clog the scalp faster than with short hair. Scalp exfoliation is especially effective here, because it:
  • restores sebum balance to the scalp and visibly extends the time between washes;
  • clears away layered styling products that "sit" at the roots and weigh your style down;
  • prepares the ideal foundation for a trichology programme — if thinning or weakened hair is a concern, exfoliation is the first step before mesotherapy;
  • for a sensitive scalp, your trichologist will select a gentle enzymatic version that cleanses without irritation.

Before a treatment programme, or as a standalone treatment?

If your scalp is healthy and you simply want a "reset," exfoliation works perfectly well as a one-off detox treatment. For recurring excess oil, dandruff, or if you're working to improve hair density and condition, your trichologist will suggest a series: exfoliation as the first step, followed by nourishing treatments on a clean, unblocked scalp. Active ingredients applied to a clean scalp simply work more effectively.

Results and home care

You'll feel that lightness and cleanliness in your scalp right after the treatment. Lasting sebum regulation, however, needs a series and good home care between visits — a shampoo selected by your trichologist (anti-dandruff or sebum-normalising) isn't a luxury; it's part of the result. The salon treatment does the "reset"; your daily routine maintains it between visits.

Frequently asked questions

Will scalp exfoliation dry out my ends or the length of my hair?
No — the peel is applied only to the scalp, never to the length of your hair. We also select the product to match your scalp condition: for a sensitive, dry scalp, your trichologist will choose a gentle enzymatic version, followed by a soothing lotion that cleanses and nourishes. Your ends remain unaffected.
I have thick, long hair — can the exfoliation actually reach my scalp?
Yes — the specialist parts your hair into sections and applies the product directly to the scalp itself, not to the hair. Thickness or length of your hairstyle is no obstacle.
Can I style my hair or go straight to work after the treatment?
Yes, with zero downtime. After the treatment, the scalp is cleansed, and brief, light flushing may occur but fades quickly. Your hair is dried after the treatment, and you can leave right away. The only things worth avoiding that day: hair colouring, sauna and swimming pools.
How often should I repeat scalp exfoliation?
This depends on scalp condition and your goal — for excess oil and dandruff, your trichologist will suggest a series at sensible intervals (usually every few weeks); for hair in good condition, repeating every few months as a preventative "detox" is enough. The exact frequency is set after a scalp assessment.
Will scalp exfoliation help with hair thinning?
Exfoliation alone isn't a treatment for hair growth, but it's an important preparatory step — it cleanses and unblocks follicle openings, so subsequent nourishing treatments (such as scalp mesotherapy) work more effectively. Your trichologist will assess whether and in what order to combine exfoliation with a strengthening programme.
