Body piercing for women

A piercing that expresses what's harder to say in words

Body piercing for women most often works as a subtle accent and jewellery detail — from a delicate nostril, through fashionable septum, to a classic navel piercing. What matters is the aesthetics of placement and jewellery that complements the rest of your look.

The areas we work on

  1. nostril and septum — discreet or bold, depending on the jewellery;
  2. navel — the most popular choice, looks great in summer;
  3. lip / labret and eyebrow — a bolder, more distinctive accent;
  4. pairing with ear piercings for a coherent jewellery composition.

A piercing that expresses what's harder to say in words

Women's bodies vary — and that variety shapes how we plan every piercing. The more delicate skin around the navel reacts differently to the thicker cartilage of the ear. The tissue of the nose, lip or tongue each has its own healing pattern. We choose the location, bar thickness and starting jewellery length to suit your individual anatomy — not a "standard template." Every parameter is chosen precisely, so the piercing heals well and looks exactly as you planned.

An aesthetic goal — yours, not random

Some women come in for a discreet dot on the side of the nose — barely visible, but there. Others come for ear curation: a considered composition of several ear piercings that together form a coherent piece of jewellery. Others still come for a navel piercing that's been a dream put off for years. Whatever the motivation — aesthetic, symbolic, or purely impulsive — the starting point is the same: pinning down exactly how the result should look. Before the needle touches the skin, you approve the placement. Symmetry and proportion are a priority, not an afterthought.

Healing and your daily routine — what you really need to know

The most common question from women is about combining aftercare with a daily routine. The skin around a fresh piercing needs time — and a few temporary habit changes:
Once fully healed, you can go back to all your usual products without any restrictions.
  • Makeup and toner: avoid the piercing area for the first few weeks; products containing alcohol, acids (including salicylic and glycolic) and retinol slow healing and irritate the channel
  • Saunas, pools, the sea: take a break for 2–4 weeks — saline solution is the only recommended contact with water
  • Night-time care: if you sleep on the pierced ear, a travel pillow with a hole lets you sleep without pressure on the jewellery during the months of healing
  • Hair and aerosols: hairspray, oils and dry shampoo — keep them away from a fresh piercing; they can settle in the channel and slow healing

Ear curation — when one piercing isn't enough

If you're thinking about more than one ear piercing, it's worth treating it as a project. Monika helps plan the order and the intervals between piercings, so none of them has to heal in difficult conditions (for example, a helix piercing right next to a fresh tragus). We also choose the jewellery — sizes, shapes, materials — so the whole composition works together, rather than looking like a random collection. Ear curation can be planned in stages over many months.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put on makeup right after the piercing?
In facial areas (nose, lip, eyebrows) — try not to apply foundation, concealer or other products directly around the jewellery for the first 2–4 weeks. Powders and sprays can settle in the channel. You can apply eye makeup and makeup elsewhere on your face as normal. Retinol, acids and exfoliating products near the piercing — resume these once healed.
Can I get a piercing during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
We advise against navel piercing during pregnancy — the abdomen changes volume, which leads to mechanical irritation of the jewellery and extends healing. Nipple piercing is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Other locations — nose, ear — can be discussed individually at consultation. You'll make the decision with full knowledge of the risks.
Does a navel piercing really take as long to heal as people say?
Yes — the navel is the area that takes longest to heal: 6 to 12 months, often more. The abdominal skin is constantly in motion, clothing presses on it, and blood supply in this area is weaker than, say, around the nose. Healing time is individual and depends on anatomy, lifestyle and aftercare. We don't shorten it by changing the jewellery early — that's the most common mistake leading to rejection.
I want a natural look — won't the piercing look cheap?
That depends entirely on the choice of jewellery and location. A small gold ball on the side of the nose, a discreet flat back in the ear, a delicate ring in the nostril — all of these look elegant and natural. At consultation, we show reference images and choose jewellery to suit your face and style.
Can I combine piercing with facial treatments — laser, acids?
Ablative treatments, chemical peels and needle mesotherapy near a fresh piercing are excluded until the piercing is fully healed. After healing — no restrictions, just let your specialist know about the jewellery so she can work around the metal area. Laser and titanium jewellery can coexist safely with proper treatment planning.
