Scar camouflage for men

A scar that catches the eye — and you tell no one it bothers you

Scar camouflage in men most often addresses surgical scars, scars from sport and accidents, and acne marks. Men usually just want the scar to "drop off the radar" — without it looking like something's been done. We keep it discreet, focusing on a natural tone match, without a makeup-like effect.

Czas: a relaxed visit sized to the scar + a short touch-up
Efekt: long-lasting; pigment fades naturally over time and needs refreshing
Regeneracja: a few days of healing: light scabbing and colour fading; the scar area can feel more delicate
Seria: 1 session + a mandatory touch-up after around 4–6 weeks (sometimes a series for larger scars)
Wykonuje: qualified PMU specialist experienced in medical micropigmentation

When it's worth it — indications

Surgical scars — pale, "pearly" lines left by surgery that stand out from the skin in colour.
Burn scars — discoloured or hyperpigmented patches left by burns, where the main issue is a difference in colour.
Acne scars — hyperpigmented or discoloured marks left by acne (where the concern is colour, not deep "craters").
Stretch marks — silvery, white or pinkish bands (from pregnancy, from rapid growth), where evening out the colour can quiet them down considerably.
Scars and marks from injuries — once they're mature, calm and mainly different in colour.
Anyone who wants to stop "managing" a scar day to day — daily concealer, choosing clothes around it, avoiding the pool.

The areas we work on

surgical and injury-related scars (sport, accidents, procedures);
discoloured or hyperpigmented acne marks;
scars on the face, neck, arms — where they catch the eye most;
a discreet "you can't see the scar" result, not "you can see the makeup".

A scar that catches the eye — and you tell no one it bothers you

Scars in men rarely become a topic of conversation. After surgery, an injury, sport — it heals, and that's usually it. But healing of colour often doesn't keep pace with healing of the wound. A pale line on the face, a discoloured patch on the neck, a white mark on the arm from an accident — they stay, and they draw the eye. It doesn't hurt, but it shows.

Scar camouflage is medical micropigmentation: a PMU specialist introduces pigment into the scarred skin, matched to the tone of your healthy skin, so the scar stops contrasting with its surroundings. We offer this treatment to both women and men — the principle stays the same, what differs is which scars you bring in and what you expect from the result.

Scars men most often bring in

Surgical scars — from appendix, hernia, orthopaedic or chest surgery; pale lines that remain and differ in colour from the skin.
Injury and sport-related scars — accidents, sports injuries, cuts; often on the face, neck, hands — areas that are visible all the time.
Acne marks — hyperpigmented or discoloured patches where acne cleared long ago, but skin colour hasn't returned to an even tone.
Scars from road accidents — discolouration and hyperpigmentation left behind after wounds heal.
Scars in areas you show — the beach, the gym, an open collar; places where a scar becomes the first thing someone notices.

A discreet result — without looking "done"

This is the goal we hear most often: for the scar to drop off the radar, not for the treatment to show. A well-matched camouflage is invisible as an intervention — the world around you stops noticing the scar, rather than noticing "something on the skin".

That's why we work with skin tone rather than a flat colour. Men's scar tissue can be thicker and firmer, and takes pigment differently — a test on a small patch (mandatory before the full treatment) isn't excessive caution, it's the standard that gives a predictable result.

Men often have a scar on the face or neck — areas where a change in tone is particularly visible, but also where subtlety matters most. We work gently and in layers, without a makeup-like effect.

What camouflage does — and doesn't do

Camouflage evens out a scar's colour. It doesn't change its texture — it won't flatten a raised area or fill a sunken one. If a scar is sunken or raised, and that's what bothers you most, device-based treatments (fractional microneedling RF, fractional laser) are needed, as they work on texture. We often combine both — texture first, then colour evening. We say this plainly at consultation, before setting a plan.

Frequently asked questions

Won't the result look like makeup or a tattoo?

No — as long as the pigment is well matched. The aim is to match your skin tone, not to fill the scar with a flat colour. The scar stops standing out in colour; it doesn't "glow" with new pigment. The world around you stops noticing it; no one asks what's on your skin.

My scar is on my face — can this be done in such a visible area?

Yes — and this is exactly where the result can matter most. Facial skin usually heals well, but a facial scar is constantly visible. We work very precisely, with a pigment test on a small area and a subtle approach from the very start.

Do I need to tell my doctor I want this done?

For scars from major surgery or burns — yes. We then ask for approval from your treating surgeon or dermatologist; it's a standard part of the safe process. For a scar from a minor injury, this usually isn't necessary, but we discuss it individually at consultation.

How long should I avoid the gym / sauna after the treatment?

During the first days of healing, avoid sweating, saunas and soaking the scar area — water and steam soften scabs and wash out fresh pigment. You'll get precise guidance after the treatment; the break is short, usually a few days to around two weeks.

My scar is from a surgery a few years ago — can I have this done already?

If the scar is mature, stable and non-inflamed — probably, yes. A scar from several years ago that isn't changing colour or hurting is a good candidate for camouflage. We assess this at consultation, where we also check whether the issue is colour (camouflage), texture (device-based treatments), or both.
