Consultation with a PMU artist for men

PMU for men — discreet, with a specific goal

For men, the PMU consultation usually concerns discreet brow filling — the goal is to help, not to "put on makeup". This is a PMU consultation for men: we assess how to naturally thicken sparse brows, conceal scars or gaps in the line, or restore brows after hair loss, so that the result is invisible as a treatment.

The areas we work on

  1. filling in sparse or thinning brows — discreetly;
  2. concealing scars and gaps in the brow line;
  3. restoring brows after alopecia / chemotherapy (a separate path);
  4. keeping a simpler, less pronounced, "masculine" shape.

PMU for men — discreet, with a specific goal

Permanent makeup for men rarely has much to do with makeup in the everyday sense. It's usually about a precise goal: filling in thinning brows, concealing a scar or gap in the brow line, or restoring brows after hair loss or chemotherapy. The result should be invisible as a treatment — people around you should see well-groomed brows, not an intervention.
A PMU consultation for men follows the same logic as for women: first a conversation and analysis, then a drawing for approval, and only then a decision about the treatment. No assumptions made in advance, no "this is what we do for everyone" — the design is built around your face, your skin type and how you genuinely want to look.

What we establish at a men's consultation

For men, PMU design usually has a narrower scope and a more specific goal than for women — but that's exactly why it requires precision:
The worry we hear most often: "will people be able to tell I've had something done?" — that's exactly what the consultation addresses. Colour matched to skin tone and hair colour, a shape design approved in the mirror, and an honest conversation about what can realistically be done invisibly.
  • Filling in sparse or thinning brows — shape and density chosen to blend into the natural line, with no visible sign of treatment;
  • Concealing scars and gaps in the brow line — colour and technique matched to the skin and hair colour in that area;
  • Restoring brows after alopecia or chemotherapy — a separate path that takes skin condition and sensitivity into account;
  • Keeping a "masculine" brow shape — straighter lines, a smaller arch, density suited to your features.

Men's skin and PMU technique

Men's skin is generally thicker and oilier than women's skin — and this directly affects the choice of technique. It's one of the reasons the consultation isn't a formality but a condition for a good result: the PMU artist assesses skin type and chooses a method that will heal well on it and won't "spread" over time.

Frequently asked questions

Is PMU for men a standard thing, or is it unusual?
Increasingly standard. Men most often come in with a very specific problem — thinning brows, a scar, hair loss — and expect a result that simply solves that problem. The consultation exists to assess whether, and how, this can be done well on your skin.
Will the result be natural, invisible?
That depends on the design and colour choice — and that's exactly what we establish at the consultation. A good PMU artist won't give the green light if the result won't look natural on your skin. Sometimes that means a different technique than you'd planned, or a suggestion to start more cautiously and see how healing goes.
What does the eligibility assessment involve — are there contraindications specific to men?
The contraindications are the same as for women: blood-thinning medication, skin conditions, active inflammation. Men's skin is generally thicker and oilier, which affects the choice of technique — one of the reasons the consultation is necessary, not a formality.
Do I need to prepare my skin before the consultation?
Not for the consultation itself. Skin preparation (avoiding acids, retinol, coffee and alcohol on the day of the treatment) applies to the actual PMU treatment — we agree this individually during the consultation, along with the treatment date.
