For men, lip PMU appears almost exclusively as correction — evening out colour at the site of an old scar or cold sore, closing a gap in the contour. Lip PMU for men — when and why

Permanent lip makeup is a treatment designed primarily for women — and it's worth saying that plainly. In men, it appears in one very specific situation: when there's a light patch in the lip colour from an old injury, a scar, or recurrent cold sores, and that irregularity is visible and bothersome. There's one goal here — evening out colour, not painting the lips.

If your situation is exactly this — a scar, a light area from an old lip injury, a gap in natural pigment — lip PMU is a genuine option. The linergist will assess whether correction is possible, choose a pigment as close as possible to your natural lip colour, and apply it so the healed result is invisible as "done".

Frequently asked questions

Will it be obvious that I've had something done?

This is the key question, and the honest answer is: when the correction is done properly, nothing is visible beyond evened-out colour. There's no "painted lips" effect — the pigment is meant to blend with your natural lip colour, not cover or change it.

Is lip PMU for me if I'm not interested in makeup at all?

Correcting a scar or colour irregularity isn't makeup in the everyday sense — it's a technique closer to camouflage treatment. The deciding factors are a specific need and a natural final result — not an interest in aesthetics.

What does healing look like and how long does it take?

Healing for lip PMU is similar for men and women: a few days of swelling and scabbing, a phase of temporary colour fading, then stabilisation after a few weeks. A touch-up after around 4–6 weeks is standard. During healing, you avoid licking your lips or picking at scabs, and apply the recommended regenerating ointment — that's essentially the only thing that changes about your week.
