Most men associate permanent eyeliner purely with women's makeup. The reality is different: men are increasingly choosing discreet lash-line enhancement — and that word, discreet, is the key one. No line, no smoky effect, no visible mark. Pigment goes between the lashes, and the result looks like naturally darker, denser lashes — nothing more.
There's one goal: a more defined, rested look with absolutely no makeup effect. Well-executed enhancement is so natural that people simply see clearer eyes — not a treatment.

Who it suits, in practice

A classic upper line, subtle extension at the corner or smoky shading are techniques you can discuss at J'adore during consultation — though men choose them rarely, and always for a very specific aesthetic reason.

  • Men over fifty, when lashes naturally become sparser and lighter and the eye loses definition;

Discretion as a requirement — how we ensure it

For lash-line enhancement in men, your lineriste selects a slightly cooler, less intense pigment colour than for a woman's line — so the result looks like the natural colour of the lashes, not applied makeup. You see and approve the shape and colour intensity in the mirror before the pigment goes in. Nothing happens blind.
Healing is identical to that for women: a few days without makeup or water contact around the eye, lenses set aside, and gentle activity in the first few days. A mandatory touch-up follows after around 4–6 weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Will anyone around me notice I've done something to my eyes?
With correctly performed lash-line enhancement — the result is natural enough that people only see a rested, more defined look. No one will connect it to a cosmetic treatment. That's one reason this technique dominates among men.
How long does the result last, and do I need to keep coming back?
Results usually last from one to around three years, depending on skin colour, sun exposure and aftercare. Pigment fades gradually — once the line starts losing intensity, you book a refresh. This isn't a commitment every few weeks, unlike many other treatments.
Does it hurt — and do I need to take time off?
The eye area is sensitive, so we apply a topical anaesthetic. Most people describe the sensation as noticeable but manageable. In the first few days the eye area can be slightly swollen — usually not enough to need time off work, but it's worth planning the treatment with a little buffer.
Are there any contraindications I should know about?
The same as for women: active eye inflammation (conjunctivitis, chalazia, recurring styes), recent eye surgery, clotting disorders, blood-thinning medication, oral retinoids. We discuss all of this during consultation, before setting a date.
