PRP plasma for men

Scalp and face — two reasons men choose PRP

Men have a strong, distinct indication: scalp and early hair loss, including male pattern baldness (AGA) — alongside regeneration of facial skin worn down by sun and shaving. This is so-called PRP for men.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Tired, grey skin — lacking radiance, losing elasticity and density.
  • Thin, low-density skin that needs regeneration, including dehydrated, "overworked" skin.
  • The eye area — shadows and a tired look, delicate skin in need of renewal.
  • Décolletage and hands — areas that show age fastest.
  • Thinning hair and early hair loss (scalp), including male pattern baldness (AGA).
  • Regeneration after other treatments — support and faster healing after laser or microneedling.
  • A wish for natural regeneration — without introducing foreign substances into the skin.

The areas we work on

  1. scalp — supporting hair follicles in thinning and AGA;
  2. regenerating facial skin worn down by sun and daily shaving;
  3. grey, tired skin, without a "done" look;
  4. hair results are assessed more slowly — consistency and the full series matter.

Scalp and face — two reasons men choose PRP

The male scenario for PRP looks different from the female one — and it's not just about skin differences. Men come to plasma for two specific reasons: either they notice their hair thinning at the temples and crown, or their face starts to look like they've had too little sleep — and no cream or supplement helps.

Male pattern baldness — the earlier you act, the more you can preserve

Male pattern baldness (AGA) affects more than half of men over forty, but the first signs often appear much earlier — a receding hairline, thinner hair at the temples and crown, more visible scalp in normal lighting.
The mechanism is well understood: DHT miniaturises hair follicles, the hair growth phase shortens, hair becomes thinner and falls out faster than it regrows. PRP isn't a cure for advanced hair loss — but at an early or moderate stage, it has a real effect. Growth factors (including VEGF, IGF-1, PDGF) activate dormant follicles and extend the active hair growth phase.
Results aren't judged after one session, or even after a month. The hair growth cycle takes several months — the first visible changes (less shedding, denser coverage) usually appear 3–6 months into a series. It takes patience, but it delivers a concrete result — and, importantly, it slows a process that would otherwise keep progressing.

Men's facial skin — different stresses, different regeneration

Men's skin is thicker and produces more sebum than women's — that's an anatomical fact. At the same time, it goes through daily shaving (razor or electric shaver), sun exposure, and often less consistent skincare. Over time, these factors show: skin loses radiance, greyness appears, and expression lines set in deeper.
PRP on men's faces isn't a "lift" or "rejuvenation" in the media sense — it's regeneration from within that restores skin condition. The effect is subtle and natural: the face looks more rested, skin is less grey, and firmness returns. No "done" look, no sign that anything was done at all.
Many men combine facial PRP with scalp therapy in the same series — it's the same mechanism, the same blood, the same appointment.

How the series works — what's different for the scalp

For hair therapy, injections cover the entire thinning area — a different technique from facial work, which is why local anaesthesia or numbing cream is standard here. After the treatment, the scalp can be slightly sensitive and red for 24–48 hours. Avoid harsh styling products and hair dye for a few days; don't wash your hair for the first 6–12 hours. Detailed aftercare (sauna, exercise, SPF) is described in the "PRP and your lifestyle" section.
A standard series is 3–4 sessions every 4–6 weeks. Results on hair are assessed 6 months after the first session — that's how long it takes to judge the outcome fairly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I shave normally after facial PRP?
Yes — shaving isn't off-limits. For the first 24 hours, though, avoid heavy pressure and strong aftershave products with a high alcohol content around the injection points. From the next day, you're back to your usual routine — razor or electric shaver, either is fine.
I train a lot and go to the gym — will intense exercise ruin the plasma effect?
Regular training doesn't cancel out the treatment's effect. In the 24–48 hours after treatment, though, skip intense exercise — faster circulation and higher body temperature encourage swelling and bruising at fresh injection sites. After that, you can return to training with no restrictions.
Will anyone notice I've had something done — staff, clients, friends?
No — with a properly performed treatment, the result doesn't look like "a treatment". Your face and scalp look more rested and in better condition, but no one will pinpoint an exact change. People will notice that you look well — not that you "did something".
Can I combine PRP with exosomes for the scalp?
Yes — it's one of the stronger combinations for hair therapy. PRP delivers growth factors from your own blood; exosomes bring regenerative signals from outside — together they work on several fronts at once. A specialist will decide whether to combine both in one session or alternate them.
Is PRP worth doing if hair loss is already advanced?
Honest qualification comes before the treatment. With advanced male pattern baldness — Norwood scale IV and above — follicles are too miniaturised to respond to PRP in a way that justifies a series. In that case, a specialist will say so directly and suggest an alternative — not promise results the treatment can't deliver.
