Keratin bonding for women

Why women choose bonds specifically

Keratin extensions for women are a classic choice — most often used to add length and density at the same time: shoulder-length hair becomes a full style down to the shoulder blades, and a thin ponytail becomes a full, dense one. Your stylist chooses the shade (often several tones for natural depth) and distributes the strands so the result looks soft and moves naturally, with the bonds invisible even when your hair is tied up.

When it's worth it — indications

  • You want longer hair right away — without waiting months for your own hair to grow.
  • You dream of a fuller, thicker hairstyle — keratin adds volume beautifully to thin hair.
  • You love tying your hair up and styling it — bonds give you full freedom: ponytail, bun, waves, a parting on either side.
  • You want a lasting result — this is a method for the long term, not just one evening like clip-ins.
  • You want a result that's indistinguishable from your own hair — this is where classic bonds really shine.
  • Your hair is healthy and strong enough to carry the strands — this is a condition your stylist assesses during consultation.

The areas we work on

  1. Adding length — from a short/medium bob to long hair;
  2. Adding density to thin, "sparse" hair all over the head;
  3. Strands in a different shade — a highlighting effect without dyeing (sombre, baby lights);
  4. Filling in after an unsuccessful haircut, or while growing your hair out.

Why women choose bonds specifically

Classic keratin bonds give women something other extension techniques don't offer in the same combination: natural movement, complete freedom to style your hair up, and a result indistinguishable from your own hair. The capsule is small enough to disappear among your hair — you can wear a deep parting on either side, tie a high ponytail, and brush your hair from any direction without the bond ever showing.
Women most often choose this method at three particular moments:
  • a sudden need for length — a haircut that didn't turn out right, or hair that isn't growing as fast as you'd like;
  • adding density — thin, sparse hair that's hard to style into a full bun or plait;
  • adding colour depth — strands in two or three tones create a sombre effect without dyeing your whole head.

Before a big date — what's worth knowing

If you're planning a wedding, a photo shoot or another event with specific hair expectations attached — book several weeks ahead. The first few days with new hair are a settling-in period: you're learning how to brush it, plait it at night and dry it. It's best to have this stage behind you before the big day arrives.
Your stylist at J'adore chooses the shade of the strands (often several tones, so the extension looks like your own multi-dimensional colour) and distributes them so the result looks soft and moves naturally — never stuck-on.

Care that actually makes a difference

Keratin extensions are an investment — and it's up to you how long they'll look fresh. Three habits make the biggest difference:
  • A soft brush, brushed from the bottom up. Brush from the ends towards the root, holding the strand steady at the bond. A regular, hard brush can catch on the capsules.
  • Sulphate-free shampoo, conditioner kept away from the root. Wash with your head upright, and apply conditioner and mask only to the lengths — never right at the bond.
  • Straighteners and curling tongs — yes, but avoid the capsule. Style the lengths freely; high heat applied directly to the bond can soften it and cause the strand to slip.

Touch-ups — normal, not a problem

After a few weeks, the bonds move lower as your own hair grows out. This is a natural rhythm of the method — not a flaw, not a mistake. You book a touch-up: your stylist repositions the strands closer to the root and your hairstyle looks fresh again. Many women treat this visit as a regular care ritual — a chance to check the condition of the hair beneath the strands and refresh the overall look.

Frequently asked questions

Will the bonds be visible if I tie my hair into a high ponytail?
With the right number of strands, correctly distributed — no. Your stylist plans the placement so the capsules stay covered by layers of hair even in a high ponytail. This is one of the key points we discuss during consultation before application.
My hair is very fine — can I still get bonds?
Fine hair doesn't rule out extensions, but it does call for assessing the condition of the root and choosing a smaller number of lighter strands. For very delicate hair, your stylist may suggest nanobonds — a smaller, lighter version of the same method — to avoid putting weight on the root.
Can I dye my hair after the strands are applied?
Colouring is best done on your own hair before the strands go in — that way we can match the shade of the added hair perfectly. We don't recommend dyeing hair once bonds are already applied, as it can weaken both the strands and the keratin bonds.
I'm getting married in three months — when should I book my extensions?
Ideally at least a few weeks before the big day. That gives you time to get used to your new hair — to learn your daily brushing and care routine — and time for a touch-up, if needed.
How long does an application visit take?
Several hours — the exact time depends on the planned number of strands, which in turn depends on the length and density you want to achieve. It calls for patience and a comfortable position, but the result is ready the moment you leave the salon.
