Why women choose micro-links

The most common reason is simple: hair has refused to grow for years — or it grows, but ends up thin and lifeless at the ends. Micro-links give instant length and density, with no waiting for regrowth and no chemicals on the hair. For many women, the number one argument is reversibility — a ring can be unclipped and moved at any time, unlike keratin, which has to be dissolved. If you value gentleness and control over what happens to your hair, this method was made for you.

What everyday life with micro-links looks like

The first two or three days are for getting used to it: hair is heavier and longer than usual, so sleeping and morning combing take a little practice. After that, it becomes routine. A few rules make all the difference:

A brush designed for extensions — a soft loop bristle without balls that catch on the rings; brush from the bottom upward, holding the strands at the root
Gentle washing, no tugging — massage the scalp with your fingertips, don't rub the rings together; don't go to sleep with wet hair
Oils and rich conditioners on lengths only — near the ring itself, they're a trap: oil makes the metal slippery and strands start to slide
A silk pillowcase and a loose braid at night — less friction, less tangling, less tugging in the morning
Keep straighteners and curling irons away from the rings — style as usual, but keep heated tools away from the attachments

Touch-ups — a rhythm, not a fault

Hair grows and lifts the ring further and further from the scalp — this is natural and expected. Every few weeks you come back for a touch-up: the stylist unclips the rings, moves the strands closer to the root and reclips them. No redoing the whole set, no long sittings. If you're planning a wedding, photoshoot or important event, have your micro-links fitted a few days to a couple of weeks in advance — so you have time to get used to the hair and check the style before the big day.

Your own hair after removal

One of the most common concerns: what will be left of my hair once the extensions come out? With a correctly fitted ring and proper care, the method is gentle — no glue, no heat, and removal simply means unclipping the same rings with the same tool. You return to your own hair without solvents or heat. There's one condition: the ring must be correctly matched to the thickness of your hair and must not pull on the root — the stylist checks this at every visit.

Can I dye my hair while wearing micro-links?

Dyeing your own hair is possible, but it needs care — the colour is applied to your own hair, not to the extensions, which already have their shade. Discuss your plans with the stylist before dyeing, so the strand colour can be matched to the intended result.

How long will the fitting take?

Fitting micro-links takes several hours — the time depends on the number of strands, which determines the final density and length. Touch-ups are much quicker. The stylist gives you an exact estimate at your consultation, once we know how many strands are needed.

Are micro-links visible under the hair?

With correct sectioning, the rings sit hidden within the deeper layers of the style and don't show through when hair is worn normally. The stylist positions the attachments so they stay hidden even when the hair is lifted up or pulled back.

Can I go swimming or use a sauna?

Swimming is possible, but chlorine and moisture near the attachments speed up ring slippage — swim with your hair tied up and avoid soaking the roots for long periods. We don't recommend saunas near the rings themselves — high heat isn't good for metal fittings. Discuss the details with your stylist, as it depends a lot on your daily routine.
