A hairstyle that carries you through the day

You know this day will be long — the ceremony, photos, the reception, dancing, tears. Before you even sit down in the chair, your stylist looks not just at your inspiration photos, but at the structure and behaviour of your hair: is it fine and soft, or thick and hard to style? Does it frizz quickly in humidity, or hold a curl for hours? This knowledge — not the amount of hairspray used — is what an updo relies on to look the same at eleven at night as it did in the first photo.
Fine hair is built differently from thick hair: different anchoring techniques, a different density of pins, a different approach to boosting volume at the root. Hair prone to humidity needs precise setting with heat protection and hairspray already in the base layer, before the visible shape is even built. It's this hidden base — elastics and pins concealed under a layer of hair — that determines whether the hairstyle holds up after three hours, or doesn't.

What a trial changes for you

A trial is your one chance to leave with complete certainty — not just hope that it'll turn out fine. At the trial, you see two or three updo options on yourself. You check how the veil sits at a specific point on your forehead and the back of your head. You see how the hairstyle looks with the makeup you'll actually wear. You also find out exactly how much time you'll need on the morning of the day, without pressure or rushing.
The most common regret after a wedding isn't the colour of the dress or the choice of flowers. It's: I wish I'd seen myself with the veil one more time before deciding. A trial rules that regret out.

Braids: between romance and hold

Plaits and braids have two qualities that experienced clients appreciate: they look soft and romantic, and they hold exceptionally well — the internal structure (hidden elastics) and the interwoven strands themselves lock against each other. A braided element in an updo tends to slip far less than a classic loop of smooth hair.
There's one condition: the tension needs to be precise, not maximum. Braids pulled too tight don't hold any better — they just cause scalp discomfort halfway through the evening and put unnecessary strain on the hair follicles along the hairline. Your stylist keeps an eye on this tension; let her know if anything starts to feel uncomfortable.

How to match the shape to your face and dress

There's no single wedding hairstyle — there's the hairstyle that suits you. Here are a few simple principles we apply at the trial:
These are recommendations, not rules — at the trial, we test options and see what actually works.
  • Round face — a slightly lifted updo with loose strands at the temples elongates the face more than a low bun sitting flat against the back of the head.
  • Narrow, elongated face — soft waves or an updo with volume at the sides balance the proportions; a very high, tight bun can make the face look narrower.
  • Deep back neckline — a smooth, low updo shows it off best; a high bun draws the eye upward and can compete with the line of the dress.
  • Large, statement accessories — a simple, understated hairstyle lets them speak for themselves; an elaborate updo with braids and flowers creates too many focal points at once.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have a wedding hairstyle if my hair is very fine?
Yes. Fine hair calls for different techniques — a stronger base, more anchor points, sometimes a subtle volume boost at the root — but it doesn't rule out an elegant updo. Discuss it at the trial, and we'll show you the option that works for your hair.
Will serum or oil weigh the hairstyle down?
A precise amount of serum or oil on the ends — a small amount, literally the size of a pea — smooths frizzy strands and improves the look in photos. Too much weighs the hairstyle down and stops the hairspray from holding. Your stylist will show you how much to use, and how, on the day.
How far in advance should I book for a wedding?
Wedding season (May–September) and prom season fill the calendar fastest. Book both the wedding date and the trial date (a few weeks earlier) as soon as possible after setting the date.
Can I bring fresh flowers for my hair?
Yes, that's a beautiful detail. Mention it when booking — we need time to plan a way to secure the flowers that keeps them intact without crushing them, and without extra pins visible from the front.
I'm planning to change my hair colour before the wedding — when should I do it?
It's best to plan colouring at least two to three weeks before the wedding, not right before. Freshly coloured hair can be more sensitive to styling and heat tools; a small buffer of time lets it settle and ensures the colour is exactly what you wanted.
