Permanent eyeliner techniques
Thin classic eyeliner (lash enhancement)
Pigment placed between the lashes — filling the gaps between individual lashes, with no visible line.
Result: "Denser lashes" — the line itself isn't visible, but the eye looks more defined. A very natural effect.
Ideal for: Minimalists, and anyone who wants a subtle result — definition without visible makeup.
Classic eyeliner (thin line)
A classic thin line along the upper (or lower) lash line. Precise, even — not something you can achieve by hand every day.
Result: A defined eye with a clear lash line. "Eyeliner, always on."
Shaded eyeliner (gradient)
A line along the lashes with a soft "blur" upwards → a softer, more voluminous effect.
Result: Shadow under the eye without applying eyeshadow. Makes the eye look larger and adds depth.
Thicker / "dramatic" eyeliner
A bold, wider line — a strong, defined makeup look.
Ideal for: Anyone who always wears a bold makeup look and wants it permanently.
Upper vs lower line
- Area: Upper lash line — Result: Defines and enlarges the eye — Notes: The most popular choice
- Area: Lower line (inner) — Result: Enlarges or reduces the eye — Notes: ⚠️ Technically riskier — close proximity to the eye
- Area: Lower line (outer) — Result: Lower shading — Notes: The safer option for the lower line
What does the treatment involve?
- Consultation and line design — drawn with a pencil first → confirmed with you
- Anaesthesia — EMLA numbing cream on the eyelid, 30–45 minutes
- Pigmentation — a PMU device used with a very delicate technique
- Symmetry check — verified before you leave the chair
Duration: 60–90 minutes
Healing — what happens?
- Day: 1–3 — What to expect: The line looks intense, with possible slight swelling of the eyelid
- Day: 4–7 — What to expect: A scab forms along the lash line — do NOT pick at it
- Day: 7–14 — What to expect: The scab flakes off, and the colour may seem to "disappear" — this is normal
- Day: 4–6 weeks — What to expect: The true, settled result
Once healed: The colour is 30–50% lighter than right after the treatment. A touch-up after 4–6 weeks fills in any gaps.
Important precautions
Before the treatment:
- Contact lenses: remove them on the day of the treatment and for 24 hours afterwards
- Don't wear eye makeup for a week beforehand
- Tell us about: eyelid surgery (scarring can affect healing), eye implants, and any eye conditions
- Essential: do you wear prescription glasses? — we don't perform lower inner eyeliner without an ophthalmologist's consultation
After the treatment:
- 24 hours: no getting it wet, no rubbing
- 48 hours: no contact lenses
- 5–7 days: don't apply mascara or eye pencil
- Avoid the sauna and swimming pool for a week
Contraindications
❌ Glaucoma, dry eye (Sjögren's), active conjunctivitis ❌ Eyelid surgery within the last 6 months (or without the surgeon's approval) ❌ Isotretinoin within 6 months of stopping ❌ Pregnancy and breastfeeding ❌ Anticoagulant medication ❌ A tendency to keloid scarring (especially for the lower inner line)
Results last, and refreshing them
Results last: 2–3 years (depending on skin phototype, acid-based skincare, and UV exposure)
Permanent eyeliner fades gradually over the years — when well done, it still looks natural after several years.
