Laser hair removal for men — back, chest, face

Lasting results without shaving — comfort, hygiene and precision for men.

7 min readwritten for men

Laser hair removal is no longer "just for women". More men are choosing to remove excess hair — on the back, chest, neck, even the face. The reasons are practical: comfort, hygiene, aesthetics, sport. Laser treatment lets you stop weekly shaving of hard-to-reach areas, once and for all.

The most popular areas for men

  • Back — excess hair that's hard to shave yourself
  • Chest — aesthetics, sport (swimming, triathlon), personal preference
  • Nape and neck — fast regrowth; permanent hair removal replaces weekly shaving
  • Shoulders — a natural extension of the back area
  • Abdomen (the line from the navel) — aesthetics, sport
  • Ears (outer ear) — hair that's especially visible in older men
  • Feet and toes — grooming, sandals
  • Groin and genital area — hygiene, sport, comfort
  • Beard (line shaping) — precision, not complete removal

How does laser hair removal work for men?

The mechanism is the same as for women: SHR laser light is selectively absorbed by hair melanin. Heat damages the follicle, so the hair often stops growing back. We use the Soprano ICE method, which combines effectiveness with comfort — a cooling tip keeps the treatment pleasant even on more sensitive skin.

How many sessions do you need?

The number of sessions depends on the treatment area and how your skin responds. Most people need anywhere from several to over a dozen visits, spaced a few weeks apart.

  • Back — usually 6–8 sessions, every 4–6 weeks
  • Chest — usually 6–8 sessions, every 4–6 weeks
  • Nape and neck — usually 5–7 sessions, every 4–6 weeks
  • Face (beard shaping) — usually 4–6 sessions, every 4–8 weeks
  • Ears — usually 4–6 sessions, every 6–8 weeks

Laser beard line shaping

Laser treatment doesn't have to mean removing your beard completely. For many men, the goal is precise shaping — a permanently freshly shaved look, without shaving every day.

  • Removing the "blurred" area on the cheek
  • Defining the beard line on the neck
  • Removing stray hairs between the jawline and neck
  • Removing hair between the brows

Does it hurt?

The SHR method (Soprano ICE) is one of the most comfortable laser hair removal techniques. A cooling tip eliminates unpleasant sensations during the treatment.

Men with thicker hair usually feel the treatment as gentle, pleasant warmth. Pain is practically absent — a common comment after the first session.

How to prepare

  • Don't wax or pluck for at least 4 weeks before the treatment — the follicle needs to be intact
  • Shave the area the day before your session
  • No active tan on the treatment area (a tan increases the risk of a skin reaction)
