Cupping therapy (anti-cellulite) for women

Why cellulite is a structural issue — and why cupping works

The most common reason women visit is cellulite and "heavy" legs. We work mainly on the thighs, buttocks and abdomen — the goal is to smooth dimpled skin, drain fluid and improve firmness. This is classic cupping therapy for women in the anti-cellulite version, most often combined with Endermologia LPG for a stronger effect.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Cellulite (dimpled skin texture) — especially on the thighs and buttocks; the suction mechanically releases the adhesions responsible for uneven texture.
  • Swelling and "heavy" legs — that end-of-day feeling of fluid build-up and puffiness; cupping speeds up lymph drainage.
  • Abdomen and love handles — as support within a body-contouring programme.
  • Laxity and loss of firmness — improved circulation supports better skin nourishment and firmness.
  • Tension and stiffness — the back, thighs, tight tissue; cupping releases the fascia.
  • Preparation before other body treatments — better-perfused tissue responds more readily to subsequent contouring methods.

The areas we work on

  1. thighs and buttocks — smoothing dimpled skin texture;
  2. abdomen — support for contouring and drainage;
  3. swelling and lymphatic stagnation — a sense of lighter legs;
  4. improved firmness and skin texture over a series.

Why cellulite is a structural issue — and why cupping works

Cellulite affects the vast majority of women — regardless of weight, diet or how active they are — because in women, vertical connective-tissue septae running perpendicular to the skin create the characteristic uneven texture. This is anatomy, not neglect. Cupping therapy targets exactly this: negative pressure lifts the tissue and mechanically releases fascial adhesions that hands and muscles alone cannot reach. That's why the effect of a series is noticeable — and why a single session isn't enough.

What you feel and see — realistically

After the first session, women most often describe lighter legs and less swelling — drainage takes effect straight away. A change in skin texture (smoother dimpling) starts to become visible after several treatments; a more lasting effect appears after a full series of around 8–10 sessions every 5–7 days. The effect usually lasts 1–3 months with maintenance and activity. On the thighs and buttocks, improvement is most noticeable — this is where the sliding technique works most effectively.

Marks — what they really are and when they appear

The most common concern before a first visit is marks. With the sliding massage technique — which we use in the anti-cellulite version — there are usually no visible marks at all. If the cosmetologist works on stubborn adhesions using the static point technique, round patches of redness may appear: this is congestion pushed to the surface by the suction, not bruising or tissue damage. It fades on its own within a few days. The suction intensity is adjusted to your comfort throughout — there's no rule that says stronger means better.

How to choose a programme — and what to combine cupping with

Cupping is most effective as part of a programme, not as a single treatment. The most popular pairing for women is cupping + Endermologia LPG: manual fascia release combined with device-based contouring — the backbone of an anti-cellulite programme. When swelling and heavy legs dominate, we add lymphatic drainage. Arosha bandages round off the series nicely, with a smoothing effect on body measurements. We plan the combined programme individually at consultation — only once the cosmetologist has assessed your degree of cellulite and any contraindications (varicose veins, medication).

Frequently asked questions

Will cupping reduce cellulite I've had for years?
Yes, but gradually and as a series — not in one go. Grade II and III cellulite usually needs a full cycle of 8–10 sessions and responds best to a combined programme (such as cupping + LPG). The result is real and visible in skin texture, though it doesn't mean the cellulite disappears completely.
I have varicose veins on my thighs — can I still have cupping?
This needs individual assessment during consultation. With advanced varicose veins in a given area, we work outside that zone or choose a different method. With milder vascular changes, the treatment is sometimes possible — the cosmetologist assesses this, we don't guess. Does cupping hurt? I'm worried about intense pain. With the sliding technique, it feels like a warm massage — pleasant, not painful. With static point work, you may feel brief tension at the application site, which eases immediately once the cup is removed. We always adjust the intensity to how you feel.
How many series a year should I do to maintain the effect?
The effect of a series usually lasts 1–3 months. Most women return for a maintenance series every 2–3 months, or for single sessions every few weeks. We adjust the schedule after your first series, based on the degree of cellulite and your lifestyle.
Will cupping help with my abdomen and love handles too?
Yes — the abdomen is one of the treatment zones in a contouring programme. The drainage and circulatory effect is real, though cupping alone doesn't reduce fat tissue. The best results on the abdomen come from a combined programme — for example, cupping + carboxytherapy, or cupping + Emtone/RF.
