Device-based lymphatic drainage for men

Recovery after training — what's missing from your recovery plan

For men, device-based lymphatic drainage is primarily about recovery after sport and lighter legs from standing work. Running, the gym, long hours on your feet — pressotherapy helps "reset" muscles faster, reduce that acid-soreness feeling, and relieve circulation. This is lymphatic drainage for men in its recovery form.

Czas: session in a comfortable lying position
Efekt: relief from the first session; results in circumference build up over the series
Regeneracja: none — you go straight back to your day
Seria: series of treatments, usually 2–3 times a week
Wykonuje: experienced cosmetologist

When it's worth it — indications

Heavy, swollen legs — by the end of the day, after standing or sitting for work.
Swelling and water retention — that "fluid retention" feeling in the legs and abdomen.
Cellulite — as support: better drainage means less retention and better-oxygenated tissue.
Skin after pregnancy — part of gentle regeneration and relief (after consultation and once postpartum recovery is complete).
Detox and a "reset" after the festive season — speeding up the elimination of built-up fluid.
Recovery after training — less muscle soreness and a faster return to form (popular with men).
Desk-based work and frequent flying — prevention against heaviness and swelling.
Support alongside a series of body-contouring treatments — drainage "rounds off" the work of other body therapies.
Stress and fatigue — this is simply a very relaxing, calming treatment.

The areas we work on

Recovery after training — what's missing from your recovery plan

Intense training breaks down muscle fibres, causes acid build-up in tissue, and creates micro-injuries. Muscles ache, legs won't cooperate, and motivation drops. The classic approach is stretching, a cold shower, and waiting — but that's not enough if you train several times a week or are preparing for competition.

Pressotherapy is one of the few treatments that genuinely speeds up the clearance of metabolic waste from muscle tissue: lactate, carbon dioxide and other metabolites, which the lymph collects and carries away. The rhythmic compression of the cuffs mimics muscle activity at a pace your tired body can't generate on its own. The result: muscles recover faster, soreness is less troubling, and you go into your next training session with a body that's better relieved.

Professional sports teams and competitive athletes have used pressotherapy for years — it's not an aesthetic treatment, it's a recovery tool. The only difference now is that it's available in salons for anyone who wants to take their recovery seriously.

Heavy legs after work — the physiology in brief

If you stand or sit for several hours a day — as a driver, chef, sales rep or programmer — your lymph slows down for the same reason it does for anyone: it's missing the muscle movement that drives it. That end-of-day feeling in your legs, the leaden sensation, swollen ankles — this is trapped fluid in the tissue, not muscle fatigue.

Pressotherapy fills that gap mechanically: the cuffs do the work of your muscles for an hour, guiding lymph exactly in its natural direction — from feet towards the heart. It asks nothing of you except lying down. You leave the salon with noticeably lighter legs and can go straight back to your day — head to training, get in the car, or go for dinner.

Drainage as part of a body-contouring programme

Many men come to pressotherapy not for sports recovery but seeking support for contouring their midsection or love handles — especially when intense training isn't producing the expected changes in body shape despite a good diet. Drainage alone doesn't burn fat — and we won't pretend it does — but as part of a contouring series it plays an important role: it clears away what other treatments have "released" in the tissue, improves microcirculation, and helps the body continue that work.

In practice, device-based drainage often features as a complement to carboxytherapy, shockwave therapy or endermology: after a more intense treatment that stimulates the tissue, pressotherapy "tidies up" and stabilises the result. This sequence gives better results than any single treatment alone — your cosmetologist selects the combination and order during consultation.

Prevention — swelling from a sedentary routine and frequent flying

Long flights, hours at a desk, work on the road — these are conditions in which any body starts to retain fluid in the legs. In men, this issue is often dismissed, but the risk is real: stagnation encourages a feeling of heaviness and, in extreme cases, thrombosis (so-called economy class syndrome). Pressotherapy is one of the most convenient ways to prevent this: an hour before or after a flight, a series during intense travel periods, regular relief as a routine.

There's nothing aesthetic here, and nothing that makes this "a treatment for women" — it's pure circulatory mechanics. If you want to avoid swollen ankles and legs that feel like lead after a full day of driving or flying, pressotherapy does exactly what's needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does pressotherapy really speed up recovery after training, or is that just marketing?

The mechanism is well documented: sequential compression speeds up lymph flow, which collects metabolic waste from muscle tissue. Fewer lactates and metabolites in the muscles mean faster rebuilding of readiness for the next training session. Soreness is less troublesome, and muscles return to full function faster. This isn't marketing — it's the same method professional athletes use for recovery, now available in a salon with no special requirements.

How long does the effect last after a treatment, and how many sessions do I need?

The lightness in your legs after one session lasts a matter of hours — the fluid has moved on, but circulation habits themselves haven't changed. A lasting effect — reduced tendency towards swelling and faster recovery as a standard — builds up over a series, usually several to a dozen or so sessions, 2–3 times a week. After that, maintenance sessions at a pace matched to your lifestyle and training intensity. Is this only a treatment for women? I feel a bit silly asking. No — and that assumption is fading. Pressotherapy is standard in competitive sport (runners, cyclists, footballers), where nobody asks about gender, only about recovery time. In salons, men use it for the same reasons: heavy legs, muscle soreness, contouring support, swelling prevention. A session looks like lying down with cuffs on your legs for an hour — nothing complicated and nothing "out of place".

Can I have pressotherapy right after training?

Yes — and it's one of the best times to do it. Drainage right after exercise helps clear acid-forming substances faster and improves muscle recovery. The only limitation: if you have fresh injuries, trauma or inflammation in the areas where the cuffs are applied, we wait until they've healed. Otherwise, post-workout is great timing.

Will pressotherapy help with love handles when training isn't giving results?

Pressotherapy alone doesn't burn fat and doesn't replace diet or exercise — that's the honest answer. But as part of a body-contouring programme, combined with other treatments (carboxytherapy, shockwave therapy, endermology) and supported by diet, it genuinely affects tissue microcirculation and improves the conditions for remodelling it. Your cosmetologist will put together a sequence that makes sense for your goal — we won't sell you drainage as a standalone solution if it isn't one.
