Diamond microdermabrasion for men

Thicker skin, larger pores — physiology, not neglect

Men's skin is thicker, produces more sebum and exfoliates more slowly — hence uneven texture, visible pores and a dull tone. It often tolerates a stronger tip grade, so results can be quick and clear. The goal: smoother, healthier-looking skin, with no fuss and no downtime — this is microdermabrasion for men.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Dull, grey skin — lacking radiance, "tired" despite skincare.
  • Uneven, rough texture — skin that feels coarse to the touch.
  • Enlarged pores — most often on the nose, chin and cheeks.
  • Superficial hyperpigmentation — sun-related and post-acne.
  • Shallow acne scars and minor surface irregularities.
  • Skin that absorbs skincare poorly — creams and serums "sit" on the surface.
  • Preparation for another treatment — a peel or mesotherapy (for better ingredient penetration).
  • A quick refresh before an event — instant glow, no downtime.

The areas we work on

  1. dull tone and "grey", tired-looking skin;
  2. enlarged pores on the nose and chin — usually needing more passes here;
  3. uneven texture and superficial sun-related hyperpigmentation;
  4. zero downtime — a meeting that same afternoon isn't a problem.

Thicker skin, larger pores — physiology, not neglect

Men's skin is on average 20–25% thicker than women's, and the sebaceous glands are larger, producing more sebum. This means the epidermis renews itself more slowly, pores clog more easily with dead cells and sebum, and texture becomes rough — even with regular washing. Diamond microdermabrasion addresses exactly this mechanism: a tip coated in diamond dust scrapes away dead skin with precision suited to each area, while suction simultaneously draws away exfoliated cells and stimulates microcirculation.
Men's thicker skin often tolerates stronger settings — the nose, chin and cheeks may need a different tip grade. The specialist adjusts the parameters for each area separately during the session, so exfoliation is effective where the epidermis is thicker, and gentler in more delicate areas.

Beard, shaving, texture — what microdermabrasion changes in men's skincare

Regular shaving is itself a form of mechanical exfoliation — but it only covers areas with facial hair, and often causes irritation, ingrown hairs and unevenness where the razor works daily. Skin under the chin and on the neck can be both accustomed to mechanical stimulation and chronically irritated. Microdermabrasion balances this out: it removes dead cells across the whole face, including zones shaving skips (nose, forehead, cheeks), and improves texture without interfering with beard care.
Hold off on wet shaving until the morning after the treatment — electric shaving on the same day is fine. From the second day, you're back to your normal routine with no restrictions.

Immediate results, no downtime — when microdermabrasion suits a tight schedule

The treatment takes 30–45 minutes. Mild redness after the treatment fades within a few hours — you can have a meeting that same afternoon. There's no visible peeling like after chemical peels, no period where you look "mid-treatment". One session gives an instant smoothing effect; a series of four to six sessions over a few weeks gives lasting improvement in texture, pore visibility and tone.
SPF 50+ during the day for a few days after the treatment is the only significant restriction. For intense strength training and sauna, wait until the next day — sweat on freshly exfoliated skin increases the risk of irritation.

Who microdermabrasion particularly suits among men

  • Skin feels rough and coarse to the touch despite regular washing — texture doesn't improve on its own
  • Visible, enlarged pores on the nose, chin and cheeks — typical with larger sebaceous glands
  • Shallow scars and acne pigmentation left over the years — a series of treatments gradually evens them out
  • Serums and creams you invest in absorb poorly — a layer of dead skin blocks their penetration
  • You want to look after your skin without changing your features and without a "post-treatment" look

Frequently asked questions

Can I shave after the treatment?
Electric shaving on the same day is fine. For wet shaving with a razor — wait until the morning after. Skin is temporarily more reactive after exfoliation, and a wet blade adds extra friction that can cause irritation. From the second day, you're back to your normal routine with no restrictions.
Can I train after microdermabrasion?
It's best to skip intense exercise on the same day — sweat combined with freshly exfoliated skin, plus the gym environment, increases the risk of irritation and infection. Light activity (a walk, easy cycling) is fine. From the next day, you're back to training with no restrictions. Wait at least 24 hours before sauna or swimming.
Will anyone notice I've had a treatment?
Mild redness fades within a few hours. There's no visible peeling or marks left behind — microdermabrasion doesn't leave any external signs. What others will notice is smoother, more visibly radiant skin — without anyone commenting that "you've done something". Treatment in the morning, a meeting or dinner in the evening — no problem.
How many sessions do I need, and how often?
One session gives an instant smoothing and evening effect. For lasting improvement in pore visibility and reduced pigmentation — a series of four to six sessions spaced a few weeks apart. For maintenance — once every four to six weeks. The specialist sets the parameters and schedule after assessing your skin — she personalises the exfoliation intensity and tip grade to your skin and your goal.
Does microdermabrasion help with acne scars and hyperpigmentation?
For shallow scars and post-acne or sun-related pigmentation — yes, especially with a series of sessions. Regular exfoliation gradually evens out tone and smooths surface irregularities. For deep atrophic scars, microdermabrasion alone has limited effect — combining it with medical peels or Dermapen works better. The specialist will suggest the optimal plan after assessing your skin.
