A treatment room at J'adoreFACIAL COSMETOLOGY
Dull, grey complexion, uneven and rough texture, visible pores, superficial hyperpigmentation, skin that "won't absorb" your cream — these are all problems with one common cause: a build-up of dead epidermal cells. Daily skincare limits this, but never removes it completely.
Diamond microdermabrasion goes deeper — it mechanically exfoliates dead skin with a diamond tip, while controlled suction immediately draws away the exfoliated cells. What's left underneath is smoother, brighter, better-oxygenated skin. This isn't "miracle resurfacing" or a medical procedure — it's a solid method, proven over decades, for improving texture and tone, with minimal downtime. At J'adore Instytut, it's performed by an experienced cosmetologist. Below you'll find everything worth knowing before your first visit.
series of 4–6 sessions every 1–2 weeks, then maintenance every few weeks
How it works
Diamond microdermabrasion is mechanical exfoliation of the outer layers of the epidermis using a tip coated in diamond dust. Tiny diamond grains scrape away dead cells, while the device simultaneously generates controlled suction that draws them away — leaving skin instantly clean and smooth. It's a bit like a very precise, gentle "sander" for the skin, guided by the cosmetologist in systematic passes.
Three mechanisms work at once here: exfoliation (removing dead epidermal cells), suction (the vacuum removes exfoliated cells instead of spreading them around), and stimulation — mechanical action improves microcirculation and encourages the epidermis to regenerate. This is a cosmetology treatment, not a medical one — no needles, no intervention in the deeper layers of the skin.

Fact: diamond tips replaced older crystal microdermabrasion precisely because they don't shed loose crystals. With crystal-based devices, particles could get into the eyes or mouth — diamond is permanently bonded to the tip, so the treatment is cleaner, safer and easier to control precisely.
Ideal for
Microdermabrasion is not suitable for active pustular acne or for deep wrinkles and deep scars — mechanical exfoliation either won't help there, or could make things worse. What genuinely suits your skin is assessed by the cosmetologist during consultation.
The female zone and the male zone
The goal is usually radiance and smoother-looking skin, along with working on texture, pores and superficial hyperpigmentation. Women's skin tends to be thinner, so the tip grade and suction strength are chosen more gently — and the treatment is often finished off with a mask and "glow" skincare. This is classic microdermabrasion for women.
The areas we support
Men's skin is thicker, produces more sebum and exfoliates more slowly — hence uneven texture, visible pores and a dull tone. It often tolerates a stronger tip grade, so results can be quick and clear. The goal: smoother, healthier-looking skin, with no fuss and no downtime — this is microdermabrasion for men.
The areas we support
Fact: the same tip and the same suction work completely differently on the thin skin of the cheek versus the thick skin of the nose — that's why the cosmetologist adjusts intensity on the fly, often making extra passes over the T-zone. Microdermabrasion is more craft than "pressing a button".
Safety
Microdermabrasion looks like a simple treatment — and that's exactly why it's easy to get wrong. Results and safety depend on three things worth asking about at any salon:
This is a beauty treatment — at J'adore it's carried out by an experienced cosmetologist, who assesses your skin type and chooses the tip grade and suction strength. Too gentle — no effect; too strong — irritation, abrasions, risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation.
The diamond tip comes into contact with exfoliated skin, so sterilisation or single-use tips and strict hygiene protocols matter. A worn, overused tip doesn't exfoliate evenly and is less safe.
There's no single "microdermabrasion strength". Tip grade and suction are matched to your skin — which is why consultation and skin assessment are essential, not a formality.
Red flag: suspiciously cheap microdermabrasion · A bargain price can be the first warning sign — often paired with a worn tip, skipped hygiene, no consultation, or a rushed treatment by an unqualified person. Also be wary of "miracle" promises (removing deep wrinkles or scars in one session) — that's simply not possible. You have every right to ask who performs the treatment, how tip hygiene is handled, and what you can realistically expect. A good salon will answer without hesitation.
Contraindications
Some contraindications are permanent, others temporary — in that case, we simply postpone the treatment until the situation passes. This is ultimately assessed by the cosmetologist at consultation.
From the cosmetologist's chair
The most commonly forgotten issue: herpes. Clients often think "I only have it on my lip, and we're treating my cheeks — that shouldn't matter". It does matter — an active virus is a risk regardless of where it appears. It's better to postpone by a few days. Pregnancy and breastfeeding — microdermabrasion is usually fine (it's a mechanical treatment, with no substances entering the body), but always tell us, so we can choose a gentler intensity.
This isn't an exhaustive list — your medications, skin conditions, recent treatments and age (available for teenagers from age 14, with parental consent) are all reviewed individually at consultation.

The visit

Consultation & skin assessment
the cosmetologist assesses your skin type and condition, sets the goal for the session, chooses the tip grade, and rules out contraindications.

Cleansing
thorough removal of make-up and surface impurities, so the tip works on clean skin.

Microdermabrasion
the diamond tip moves in systematic passes; it exfoliates while suction draws away the exfoliated skin. You'll feel a gentle "pulling" sensation and light scraping — that's the suction at work.

Extra passes
in problem zones (pores on the nose, unevenness on the cheeks, chin), the cosmetologist makes extra passes or changes the tip.

Toning and calming
a soothing toner and a hydrating or pore-tightening product.
Final mask
hydrating, soothing or antioxidant, chosen according to your skin's needs.
Cream and SPF
the treatment finishes with sun protection. The whole process takes around an hour.
What to expect
The best news: results show straight away. Right after the treatment, skin is noticeably smoother to the touch, tone is more even, and the complexion looks brighter. This is one advantage of microdermabrasion — unlike chemical peels, there's no multi-day, flaking peel of the epidermis.
Some clients ask "why doesn't my skin peel like after a chemical peel?" And it's a good thing it doesn't — with microdermabrasion, exfoliation happens during the treatment itself, and the tip removes exfoliated skin immediately. "No visible peeling at home" is a feature, not a drawback — the effect is there, just without any downtime.
Portfolio
A record of the work in our salons — the place where we publish treatment frames and, after photo sessions, results.
A record of results — in preparation. We publish photographs of our clients only with their consent.
A single treatment is a great instant refresh. But for real work on texture, pores and superficial hyperpigmentation, skin only responds fully across a series — that's when results build up and last longer.
Microdermabrasion and your lifestyle
The most common questions aren't about the treatment itself, but about what happens afterwards: make-up, sun, sauna, swimming, home peels. There's one rule — for the first few days, freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to UV and irritation, so we treat it gently.
On the day of the treatment, it's best to leave your skin bare — just moisturiser and SPF. Light make-up from the next day; hold off on heavy foundation for a day.
This is the most important rule: avoid direct sun exposure and sunbeds for at least a few weeks. Freshly exfoliated skin pigments more easily — daily SPF 30–50 is essential.
High temperatures dilate blood vessels and increase redness. Hold off on sauna, hammam and very hot baths for a few days.
Chlorinated water irritates freshly exfoliated skin. It's best to wait a few days before swimming.
Hold off on mechanical exfoliants (brushes, scrubs) and strong acids or retinol for a few days — microdermabrasion has already done the exfoliating for you, and doubling up will only irritate your skin.
It's best to postpone intense training by a few hours — sweat on freshly exfoliated skin can cause irritation. No restrictions the next day.
