Retises CT — retinol for men

Why men choose Retises — and what they're looking for

Men's skin is thicker and more prone to being oily, with larger pores, along with scars and unevenness from acne and, usually, no habit of using SPF — meaning faster photo-ageing. The retinol peel for men works wonders on this kind of skin: it evens out texture, smooths acne marks and refreshes tone, and thicker skin often tolerates retinol well. The goal: better skin quality without a "salon-fresh" look.
Duration
The application in the salon is short — a few dozen minutes including skin preparation. The product itself keeps working on the skin for several to a dozen or so hours afterwards, at home.
Result
Smoothing and radiance become visible once the flaking resolves. Wrinkle reduction, hyperpigmentation fading and firmness improve, and these effects build up and settle over the series.
Recovery
A few days of light, fine flaking follow. Most people go about their normal routine — the flaking is usually easy to conceal.
Sessions
Best results come from a series of 4–6 sessions every 2–4 weeks (outside the summer season), followed by seasonal maintenance.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Wrinkles and early signs of ageing — retinol boosts collagen synthesis and speeds up renewal, smoothing fine and medium wrinkles. This is the main indication for Retises.
  • Loss of firmness and skin tone — the retinol peel improves skin density and "bounce", working on ageing from within.
  • Hyperpigmentation — sun-induced, post-inflammatory and some hormonal marks; retinol evens out tone and speeds up the shedding of discoloured epidermis.
  • Scars and post-acne unevenness — smoother texture and improved tone in acne-marked skin.
  • Grey, tired skin lacking radiance — epidermal renewal restores freshness and glow.
  • Photo-ageing — skin with visible sun damage: uneven tone, roughness, loss of freshness.
  • Skin with enlarged pores and uneven texture — retinol "refines" the skin's surface.

The areas we work on

  1. oily, thicker skin with enlarged pores;
  2. scars and unevenness from acne — smoother texture and tone;
  3. photo-ageing in those active outdoors (sport, outdoor work), lack of SPF;
  4. renewal and "evening out" the skin without an aggressive, visible treatment.

Why men choose Retises — and what they're looking for

Men's skin is biologically thicker and produces more sebum — that's fact, not opinion. In practice, this means it ages more slowly, but when ageing does show, it often shows dramatically: deeper wrinkles, more noticeable loss of tone, larger pores. Add to that scars and unevenness from acne, which in men often leaves clearer marks on thicker skin. And one more thing: most men go years without using SPF, which means accumulated photo-ageing — roughness, uneven tone, loss of freshness.
Retises CT targets exactly these issues. Retinol prompts the skin into accelerated renewal from within — it stimulates collagen, speeds up cell turnover, evens out texture and tone. Men's thicker skin generally tolerates retinol well and responds to it decisively.

The question of post-acne scars and uneven texture

This is one of the main reasons men choose Retises. Acne scars mean indentations or unevenness in skin texture, plus often discoloured, uneven tone around them. Retinol smooths the surface and evens out the shade by speeding up cell turnover — the effect builds over a series, because the skin needs time to rebuild.
For pronounced atrophic scars (indentations), it's worth combining Retises with other methods — the cosmetologist will suggest a plan at consultation.

The question of SPF — no exceptions

This is the one point with Retises where there's no compromise: daily SPF 50+ after a retinol peel is a requirement, not an option. Retinol makes the skin more sensitive to UV, and freshly renewed epidermis reacts to sun more strongly than usual. Skipping protection risks hyperpigmentation and a fast loss of results.
The cosmetologist will show you the simplest possible routine — SPF doesn't need to be complicated skincare, but it does need to happen every day, during the series and after it.

Flaking in men — how to get through it practically

Flaking appears after 2–4 days and usually lasts a few days. It's fine, not dramatic. Most men go about their normal routine during this time; with a short beard, the flaking is less visible, while clean-shaven skin shows it more. Important: don't shave aggressively and avoid strong shaving products during the flaking period — the skin is more sensitive and more prone to irritation.
If you have an important meeting or event, plan the treatment with a few days' buffer.

Frequently asked questions

Does the retinol peel show on the face — will I leave the salon with a visible change?
Right after the treatment, the skin takes on a characteristic yellowish tint (this is retinol's natural colour, hence the informal name Yellow Peel). The yellow tone washes off and fades over the following days along with the flaking. The effect is temporary and predictable — the cosmetologist gives you clear instructions on when and how to wash off the product. You don't leave the salon with a sudden, dramatic change.
I have oily skin and enlarged pores — will Retises help me?
Yes, this is one of the main indications for men's skin. Retinol refines the surface: it speeds up cell turnover, reduces the visibility of pores and evens out texture. Oily skin often tolerates retinol well — and we often see clear improvement after a series.
Can I shave normally in the days after the treatment?
During the flaking period (days 2–5 after the treatment), the skin is more sensitive — shaving with a sharp blade and using strong shaving products can cause irritation. It's worth shaving more gently during this time and avoiding strong alcohol-based aftershaves — just be more careful. It's only a few days; then you go back to your normal routine.
How many sessions are needed to see results on post-acne scars?
The first improvement in tone and surface smoothness is visible after just one session, once the flaking resolves. Noticeable scar smoothing and better texture need a series — usually 4–6 sessions every 2–4 weeks. Deeper atrophic scars may need Retises combined with other methods; the cosmetologist will assess this at consultation.
I've heard retinol peels are mainly for women — is this for me?
That's a myth born from marketing, not from how the ingredient works. Retinol works the same way regardless of gender — it stimulates skin renewal, boosts collagen, smooths wrinkles and evens out tone. Men's thicker skin often tolerates retinol well and responds to it decisively. Caring for skin quality is a matter of precision, not aesthetic preference — the goal may differ (better skin, fewer scars, slower ageing), but the tool works the same way.
