  • You have thin, delicate hair — and you're looking for a method that adds density without overloading the root. This is the natural home for nanobonds.
  • You want maximum discretion — the tiny bonds are even harder to notice than standard bonds.
  • You want a soft, delicate effect — the strands move lightly, and the style doesn't look "built up".
  • You like styling and updos — the small bonds allow freedom: ponytails, side partings, loose updos.
  • You want longer-lasting results — it holds for several months before a touch-up, not just one evening like clip-ins.

The distinction is crucial, though. If your hair is simply naturally thin, the stylist may find a way to discreetly thicken certain areas. But if your hair is actually falling out, progressively thinning, or the hairline is receding — this isn't a job for styling. Even tiny, light bonds won't stop hair loss or mask a receding hairline in the long run. In that case, the first step should be a trichology consultation — not because we refuse to help, but because offering styling where diagnostics are needed would simply be dishonest.

When thickening with nanobonds makes sense — and when it doesn't

Nanobonds have limited use on men's hair, given the specifics of the method (mini bonds hide among longer strands) and the fact that typical men's hair length makes integrating the bonds difficult. Situations we can discuss:
Nanobonds are not a suitable method if:
  • Naturally thin, longer hair — discreet thickening of individual thinning areas is sometimes possible;
  • Men with longer hairstyles — where the bonds have somewhere to "disappear" among your own hair;
  • Temporary effect — before noticeable hair-loss progression appears, or before completing trichology treatment.
  • Hair loss is more intense than before, or the hairline is progressively receding → a trichologist first;
  • Hair is too short for the bonds to hide among your own strands;
  • You expect results on very short hair, closely cropped at the sides — the keratin method simply has nowhere to work.

Care — the same rules as for women's hair

If you decide on nanobonds, the home care rules are identical to those for women's hair: a gentle sulphate-free shampoo, brushing from the ends, avoiding straighteners directly on the bonds, no rich oils at the root. Mini bonds require the same approach regardless of gender — it's the keratin holding the strand that dictates the care rules.

Frequently asked questions

Will nanobonds hide thinning and a receding hairline?
No — and it's worth knowing this before you book a visit. Mini bonds add volume and length, but they don't convincingly mask a receding hairline, and they don't stop hair loss. If your hair is genuinely losing density or the hairline is clearly receding, the first step should be a trichology consultation. Styling on a weakened root — even a light one — isn't a good idea.
Are nanobonds suitable for short, classically trimmed hair?
On very short hair, the keratin method simply has nowhere to work — the bonds have nowhere to hide and the effect would be visible. Nanobonds require your own hair to be long enough for the strands to blend into the style. At the consultation, the stylist will assess whether your length allows for this.
My hair is thin but not falling out — can I thicken specific areas?
This question requires an individual assessment — which is why the consultation is free and comes with no obligation.
